"That’s it." Lucy Wells said with a smile, "I sold the old house and moved to a new place. She doesn’t know about it."
"But even if she did know, it doesn’t matter. I won’t let her keep bullying us."
Seeing Lucy Wells so confident made Sophie Wilson feel very relieved: "That’s right, if anyone bullies us, we’ll fight back. We won’t indulge their bad habits!"
"Yeah." Lucy Wells nodded, "By the way, Sophie, I’m planning another business trip before the year ends to finalize things for the branch office."
"You guys discuss that. I’m just waiting to collect the money," Sophie Wilson said with a wave of her hand, "I just want to be a worry-free couch potato. Don’t ask to hustle; I find it tiring."
Sophie Wilson’s lazy deanor amused Lucy Wells to the point of laughter: "You... always joking around... Haven’t you worked hard enough?"
Lucy Wells didn’t take Sophie Wilson’s words to heart, knowing that all the major corporate decisions and directions were under Sophie’s control, and she always made the right choices.
Faced with this, Sophie Wilson felt a little frustrated. She genuinely wanted to be a carefree couch potato.
The so-called hard work was all for the great goal of becoming a couch potato.
Why does no one understand her lofty ambition?
Sophie Wilson had lunch with Lucy Wells outside. They didn’t bother with a private room, just found a quiet Cantonese restaurant, and chatted away happily while eating.
Of course, it would have been perfect if they hadn’t run into a certain soone on their way back after the al.
"Lucy,"
Lucy Wells heard soone calling her na and turned her head curiously, feeling that the voice was sowhat familiar.
"Lucy, I’ve finally found you," Joshua Wright said excitedly, quickening his pace to reach Lucy Wells.
Looking at the scruffy and tired man in front of her, Lucy Wells thought for a long ti before realizing this was the boyfriend her well-intentioned aunt had introduced to her back then.
"We have nothing to do with each other anymore." Faced with Joshua Wright again, Lucy Wells found herself unexpectedly calm. She wasn’t tense, nor did she even feel hatred.
She looked at Joshua Wright as if he were a stranger.
She now questioned whether the ti she spent with Joshua, getting brainwashed into thinking she was at fault, was all just a dream.
Thinking back now, she truly was foolish back then.
"Lucy, how can you say we have nothing to do with each other? Have you gotten rich and now look down on , wanting to dump ?" Joshua Wright accused, filled with resentnt.
He hadn’t been happy at the dia company he recently worked for and happened to discover that Lucy Wells held a high position in her company.
That made him consider getting back together with Lucy Wells.
Wasn’t she once completely at his rcy? He believed if he sweet-talked her enough, he could still win her back.
If he married Lucy Wells, his residency and job issues would be resolved.
Sophie Wilson frowned, glaring at Joshua Wright, thinking, how shaless is he? After all that happened, he still has the nerve to show up in front of Lucy.
However... this ti, Sophie Wilson didn’t imdiately step forward to shield Lucy.
She wanted to see how Lucy would handle it, after all, Lucy wasn’t the sa as before.
If Lucy couldn’t handle it, then she would intervene.
Seeing Lucy Wells not speaking, Joshua Wright raised his voice in frustration, accusing, "Lucy, how can you be like this? So materialistic? So vain? Are you going to throw away our long-ti relationship just for money?"
