"Don’t play such childish tricks in front of anymore," Sophie Wilson shrugged and said, "especially since I hate it when people try to manipulate the ones I care about."
Sophie Wilson’s eyes narrowed, and a sudden eruption of malice pierced through Ophelia Wilson’s heart like a sharp blade, causing her to shiver violently.
Overwheld by extre fear, Ophelia Wilson’s body went rigid like a stone, unable to react for a mont, until she saw Sophie Wilson dragging Clarissa to open the door. Only then did she snap back to reality and exclaid, "Sophie, wait!"
Sophie Wilson turned her head and sneered, warning, "Ophelia Wilson, I am not soone without a temper."
With that said, she opened the door and left with Clarissa.
Inside the room, Ophelia Wilson’s legs went weak, and she collapsed into the chair, her hands and feet numbed by fear.
"Ophelia, Ophelia..." Albert Fletcher hurried in, closing the door behind him, and called out to the pale-faced Ophelia Wilson.
As soon as she saw him, Ophelia burst into tears, "Brother Fletcher, what should I do?"
"It’s okay, I’ll think of a way," Albert Fletcher comforted.
Though he said this, Albert Fletcher was unsure deep down.
His gaze landed on the cabinet, his brows deeply furrowed. How did Sophie Wilson discover such a hidden spot?
In the car, Clarissa let out a heavy sigh, "All these years, what exactly have I been raising?"
She felt that as Ophelia Wilson grew older, there seed to be a barrier between them. But after all, they were mother and daughter, and she always thought it was normal for a child to have so secrets as they grew up.
The care and love she provided were in no way lacking, she asked herself.
Even when she later felt that sotis Ophelia Wilson seed a bit hypocritical, and her actions made her uncomfortable, she didn’t think much of it, assuming that Ophelia had gotten used to dealing with things that way in the entertainnt industry.
But when all the facades were torn down, she realized how disgusting Ophelia Wilson truly was.
"Mom, why get angry over soone like that?" Sophie Wilson said with a smile, lightly patting Clarissa’s arm, "Just think of it as having taken care of an orphan all these years. We’ve been charitable without asking for returns, just doing good deeds. With people like that, we have to let it go, treat it as if nothing happened, and not take it to heart. Otherwise, we’re just wasting our ti and energy."
"Hmm." Clarissa agreed with her daughter, choosing not to hold grudges against Ophelia Wilson.
"That’s right, we don’t bother with people who are trash. Let’s go shopping." Sophie Wilson cheerfully directed the driver to take them to the mall, where they browsed clothes and bags, tried on jewelry, and had a al, enjoying the day.
In the afternoon, Sophie Wilson went ho for a nap, and the driver set off to pick up Charles Seymour from work.
When Charles Seymour returned, he was greeted by a delicious aroma as he entered the door and instinctively headed toward the kitchen, where he saw Sophie Wilson happily piping cream onto a cake.
A smile flickered in Charles Seymour’s eyes as he walked over and dipped his finger into the cream, popping it into his mouth, "Tasty."
The driver, holding a briefcase, watched the childish Charles Seymour and paused outside the kitchen.
He decided it was best to pretend he hadn’t seen anything.
"Hey!" Sophie Wilson playfully slapped Charles Seymour’s hand, chiding him, "Did you wash your hands? What if you get a stomachache?"
