Ophelia Wilson’s heart suddenly tightened. Did Hayley Cole really call Jas Reed so many tis?
What does she want?
Ophelia Wilson quickly looked at Hayley Cole, eting her provocative gaze.
That arrogant, provocative gaze made Ophelia grit her teeth in anger. What did Hayley Cole an? Did she want to steal Jas away?
Involuntarily, Ophelia tightened her arm, holding Jas Reed’s arm tightly.
"During the day, I was too busy with work, and at night, I was..." Jas Reed was about to explain when Hayley Cole interrupted, "You have to be with your fiancée."
When Hayley Cole ntioned the word fiancée, she glanced at Ophelia Wilson. There was a trace of mockery in her eyes, making Ophelia want to slap her.
What does Hayley Cole an?
Many people knew she was Jas’ fiancée. Their engagent party was even live-stread!
"It’s not just about being with my fiancée. The tenth of this month is my grandfather’s birthday. I was busy choosing a gift for him and forgot to return Miss Cole’s call," Jas Reed explained good-naturedly.
"Old Mr. Seymour’s birthday banquet," Hayley Cole smiled slyly and said, "Since you didn’t return my call, how are you going to make it up to ?"
Not returning a call requires an apology?
Ophelia Wilson glared resentfully at Hayley Cole. Was she doing it on purpose?
"Feel free to ask, Miss Cole, as long as it’s within my power." Of course, Jas Reed wouldn’t offend Hayley Cole and said with a smiling face.
"Then take to Old Mr. Seymour’s birthday banquet," Hayley Cole said. Before Jas could respond, Ophelia had already denied it flatly, "No way!"
"Why not?" Hayley Cole asked curiously, "Old Mr. Seymour’s birthday banquet isn’t a private event. What’s wrong with attending as Jas’ friend?"
Jas?
Ophelia couldn’t believe it as she stared at Hayley Cole. How did she get so familiar with Jas, using his na like that?
Ophelia felt a wave of jealousy welling up inside her.
"Jas, am I not qualified to attend?" Hayley Cole shifted her gaze to Jas Reed’s face, pressing him, "Am I not worthy?"
"It’s my honor to have you grace us with your presence, Miss Cole," Jas Reed said with a smile.
"Alright, I’ll be waiting for your invitation," Hayley Cole said, casting a triumphant, provocative look at Ophelia Wilson, nearly making Ophelia grind her teeth to pieces.
"Okay," Jas Reed nodded and said. Only then did Hayley Cole say cheerfully, "I won’t delay your date any longer. Bye-bye..."
Hearing the word "date" from Hayley Cole’s mouth made Ophelia feel especially irritated.
"Jas, how could you agree to let her attend Grandpa’s birthday?" Ophelia questioned angrily after Hayley Cole walked away, "Are you very familiar with her?"
"Of course not," Jas Reed said with a helpless bitter smile, "But she’s Chairman Cole’s daughter. Do you think I can refuse her?"
"My position in the Seymour Corporation is already awkward. If I can get to know soone of Hayley Cole’s status, perhaps they’ll be a bit more cautious," Jas Reed explained, soothingly patting Ophelia’s hand. "Don’t worry. She’s just a bit willful and childish, nothing more."
She likes you!
Ophelia almost shouted those words.
