Wow, Auntie’s really sothing!
"Uncle, can these idioms really be used like that?" Julian Campbell nervously tugged at Charles Seymour’s sleeve.
"Why not?" Charles Seymour gave Julian a strange look before continuing to gaze tenderly at his Sophie Wilson.
Look at Sophie all spirited and lively when she’s dissing soone, she’s stunning.
That’s his wife!
His!
"Miss Wilson, don’t say that, after all, Miss Cole is a guest." Of course, Jas Reed had to stand by Hayley Cole now, speaking on her behalf.
"She’s a guest, huh?" Sophie Wilson curiously glanced at Martin Seymour and asked, "Uncle, was Miss Cole invited by you or Grandpa?"
Martin Seymour calmly said, "Neither."
"See, Miss Cole isn’t an invited guest of the Seymour Family." Sophie Wilson spread her hands helplessly at Jas Reed.
"So what? Is it not okay if I invited her?" Hayley Cole sneered and questioned, "Or are you going to deny that Jas has Seymour blood flowing in his veins?"
"Of course, I wouldn’t deny that." Sophie Wilson shook her head vigorously, as if afraid of having this huge accusation placed on her. "So, Miss Cole is Jas Reed’s guest."
"Exactly!" Hayley Cole arrogantly tilted her chin up, staring defiantly at Sophie Wilson.
"My apologies." Sophie Wilson sincerely apologized, then shifted her tone, "But, a guest invited by Jas Reed cos in and insults his uncle... Hmm, Jas Reed, did you invite Miss Cole to support you and stir up trouble at Old Mr. Seymour’s birthday feast?"
"You..."
"You misunderstood." Jas Reed hurriedly interrupted Hayley Cole, afraid that if she continued, he wouldn’t know what else Sophie Wilson might accuse him of. "Miss Cole was just standing up for ."
"Actually, Miss Cole, there’s really no need to speak up for , I’m used to it." Jas Reed looked at Hayley Cole, his expression full of grievance, making Hayley Cole feel a twinge of sympathy, while Sophie Wilson found it nauseating.
So pretentious!
"You’re used to it, but I’m not. I’ve never seen such a thing, accepting gifts without showing face, such ugly behavior." Hayley Cole spat.
Sophie Wilson laughed, "Miss Cole seems quite righteous, almost made think you were Jas Reed’s fiancée instead."
"Sophie Wilson, I’m only speaking out as a friend, couldn’t bear to watch." Hayley Cole’s eyes flickered with panic, yet she pretended to remain calm as she retorted.
"Oh, I see. That’s what I thought, Miss Cole, no matter how clueless, you couldn’t possibly turn into the howrecking third party." Sophie Wilson smiled and said, "However, Miss Cole, there’s one thing you got wrong. All these years, the gifts Jas Reed sent were never accepted by the Seymour Family; they were all returned to Ethan Seymour."
As soon as Sophie Wilson said this, Jas Reed’s face changed drastically, and he stared at Sophie in disbelief. Then, he quickly turned his gaze to Ethan Seymour, who indeed looked a bit flustered.
"As for why Ethan Seymour didn’t return the gifts to Jas Reed whether he kept them for himself or what, we wouldn’t know, so don’t wrong an innocent person." Sophie Wilson said with a smiling face.
"Dad, those gifts..." Jas Reed looked at Ethan Seymour in disbelief, "I picked them out carefully..." Coming to this point, he seed to realize he had said too much and smiled wryly, "If Grandpa doesn’t like them, so be it."
