Ophelia Wilson’s body stiffened; she had been trying hard to forget about Director Lewis’s matter, so why bring it up again?
"Mom, let’s not ntion that again," Ophelia said in a low voice. "That person has already been dismissed from his company, and I’m going to marry Jas. From now on, let’s pretend that never happened!"
Ophelia really wanted to slap Chaya Davis and open her head to see if she had any sense at all.
The fact that Jas was willing to marry her was already the best outco; why did Chaya still have to bring up that issue?
Was she hoping Jas would rember it forever?
"Ophelia, everything was fine for you in the Wilson Clan until Sophie Wilson showed up, and then your luck started to turn!" Chaya gritted her teeth in anger.
Ophelia heard this and raised her eyebrows slightly, sensing that this wasn’t quite what she thought it was.
"Mom, what do you an?" Ophelia asked curiously.
"You see, the situation right now is like this," Chaya began to analyze for Ophelia, "Jas is in a sowhat awkward position within the Seymour Family, and he’s had a big disagreent with his father in order to marry you."
"In this case, can you guarantee that Jas will eventually inherit Seymour Corporation?"
"Mom, I’m marrying Jas not because he might inherit Seymour Corporation," Ophelia hurriedly said.
Perhaps that was part of the reason before, but after everything that had happened, the fact that Jas was still willing to marry her made her completely indifferent to his status.
"I know you truly love Jas, but how much effort has Jas put into Seymour Corporation? Are you willing to let all his hard work over the years go to waste?" Chaya asked.
Seeing Ophelia say nothing further, Chaya was secretly pleased; she knew exactly what Ophelia was thinking.
"Ophelia, right now Charles Seymour is in a powerful position. With him around, Jas’s future isn’t looking so good," Chaya said with a smile. "If Charles weren’t around, or if he wasn’t qualified to inherit Seymour Corporation, wouldn’t Seymour Corporation be Jas’s future inheritance?"
"Mom, what do you an?" Ophelia asked directly, not wanting to hear Chaya beat around the bush.
"Do you think Charles Seymour likes Sophie Wilson?" Chaya didn’t answer directly but asked with a sly smile.
"Of course he likes her," Ophelia reluctantly admitted the fact, even if she didn’t want to.
Just look at the engagent banquet Charles hosted... But she wasn’t really jealous, as Charles was richer than Jas.
However, Charles might not love Sophie the way Jas loved her.
"Exactly, and if Sophie Wilson were... and a video of it were posted online for everyone to see, do you think Charles would still want her?" Chaya asked with a malicious grin.
"Mom!" Ophelia’s grip on the steering wheel slipped, and the car swerved in an S-shape. She quickly regained control, preventing an accident.
"Oh dear, Ophelia, you scared to death. Be careful while driving," Chaya said, clutching the handle with one hand and patting her chest with the other, still shaken.
"Mom, what have you done?" Ophelia asked nervously.
Within her nervousness was a small thrill of excitent, her fingers flexing and relaxing in agitation, a gleam of schadenfreude flashing in her eyes.
"Why, I just found a few n to have so fun with Sophie Wilson," Chaya said smugly.
