The young ladies busy at the makeshift stove were all stunned, "Charles Seymour cooking for Sophie Wilson?"
"Hey, why haven’t you finished cooking yet? Look, Sophie Wilson is already done," a guy grumbled discontentedly after finally setting up the tent, and saw his girlfriend standing blankly holding things.
His girlfriend, who wasn’t one to be pushed around, snapped back, "That was cooked by Young Master Seymour!"
"What? Impossible..." The man started to say, but then he saw Charles Seymour quickly dig out several mud-like clumps from under the stove.
He took one, easily broke it open, revealing a whole chicken wrapped in lotus leaves.
The enticing aroma wafted over, making the man swallow hard, unsure if he was frightened or tempted by Charles Seymour’s cooking.
Kai Bright’s contribution was limited to handing things over or scrubbing a pot for Charles Seymour; he certainly didn’t have Charles’s cooking skills.
"Ti to eat!" Kai Bright cheerfully sat down, but Charles Seymour shot him a glare, making him freeze in his tracks. What was wrong with him?
Charles Seymour tilted his head slightly, gesturing with his chin at the few prepared beggar’s chickens nearby. Despite the na, the cooking thod was quite exquisite.
Before coming here, Charles Seymour had marinated them at ho and took the opportunity to roast them by burying them underneath.
As soon as Kai saw, he turned and shouted at the side, "David, bring the food."
David Green ran over, smiling, "Young Master Bright, Young Master Seymour, we won’t be polite then."
Charles Seymour’s gesture delighted everyone’s hearts; Young Master Seymour was indeed approachable.
So, when Sophie and her group were halfway through their al, they received many grilled skewers, stir-fried dishes, soups, and other foods delivered by others.
In the evening, they heated water, set up a makeshift shower, and everyone freshened up.
When it was ti to sleep, Charles Seymour gloomily looked at Kai Bright inside the tent.
"Don’t look at like that, I did want to stay with Lucy," Kai Bright said, feeling distraught, "but, well, we haven’t registered our marriage yet."
The other couples who ca together naturally shared the sa tent.
Although he initially had no intention of staying with Lucy, he felt a bit upset after being heartlessly kicked out by Sophie, and Lucy hadn’t even tried to stop her...
Did Kai Bright really think he would do anything?
Charles Seymour glared at Kai Bright "angrily" and turned to crawl into his sleeping bag, not wanting to see him, finding him an eyesore.
The spurned Kai Bright silently crawled into his sleeping bag too, wondering who he had offended.
Besides, when they ca out here, he should’ve expected it to end this way, so why was Charles Seymour glaring at him?
Unlike their side, Sophie Wilson and Lucy Wells were chatting away for half the night.
"Do you think they might be feeling upset?" Lucy Wells whispered, "I see that everyone else is..."
Lucy didn’t finish her sentence, but Sophie laughed, "It ans we’ve found reliable n. They’d rather be a bit upset themselves to respect us."
Lucy Wells smiled sweetly after hearing that, feeling truly fortunate to have found a boyfriend who constantly considered their reputation and feelings.
The night grew darker, the campfire slowly died down, emitting a dark red glow, and eventually turned into re embers before petering out.
The entire campsite darkened, and everyone drifted into sweet dreams.
At that mont, in the quiet night, a pair of eyes, like those of a hungry wolf, were staring at the site from within the woods.
