Soon, several people in the sa camo uniforms hurried over. Seeing the old man on the ground tied up tightly, even his mouth gagged, they nodded in satisfaction.
"Bear, nice work, quick action," said a companion who had just arrived, playfully punching his chest.
"Not too bad," the man, codenad Bear, chuckled after just subduing the old man. "This guy was even holding hostages—but luckily, no casualties."
"Well done," opened the leader, surprisingly with a crisp female voice.
Despite her being a woman, her affirmation made Bear stand up straight with excitent, puffing out his chest.
Praised by the team leader, happy.
"Are you two alright?" the team leader asked with concern, noticing the two people hugging tightly with their backs facing them, feeling a bit uneasy.
"No problem, leader," Bear hurriedly replied. "I acted swiftly... Ah!"
Bear’s words were cut off by his own scream. No one could see how it happened, but Bear was already flipped onto the ground, clutching his stomach, curled up like a shrimp.
The nearby comrades were briefly shocked before they charged forward.
This person who hit Bear, could they be part of the old man’s gang?
They had been pursuing the old man’s group for a long ti and couldn’t let even one slip away!
Then... there was no continuation—four or five in camo were all knocked to the ground, pain piercing, unable to even scream.
"Leader, call for backup..." By this ti, Bear had regained his composure, squeezing out a few words with effort.
The pain distracted him, failing to notice that his leader was in a daze.
Upon hearing Bear’s voice, Charles Seymour’s eyes darkened, and he walked over.
Bear lying on the ground, for so reason, watching this cold-faced man stride over felt like each step he took heavily stomped on his heart, making him apprehensive.
Even when facing desperados during missions, he hadn’t felt this kind of fear. Now, as this man approached, he felt enveloped and subrged by a death-like cold tide.
Bear instinctively shrank back; he dodged!
Facing Charles Seymour, his first reaction wasn’t to rise and fight but to evade.
Instinct told him he really couldn’t defeat this man walking over leisurely.
"Charles Seymour, wait a mont!" The one who stopped him was unexpectedly not Sophie Wilson, but their leader.
Charles Seymour turned to look at the talking leader, who quickly ran over, standing opposite him: "Misunderstanding."
The leader seed to think these two words weren’t sufficient to clarify the situation, so explained further: "Bear was just trying to rescue the hostages."
"Rescue hostages?" Charles Seymour spoke coldly, laden with mockery in his words. "Rescuing hostages this way, any slight mistake could endanger them! How was he trained?"
"Daring enough to co out on missions with such incompetence? Is the team short of people?"
Charles Seymour’s words made Bear feel deeply insulted, disregarding the pain. He jumped up from the ground, angrily retorting, "I’m ranked in the top ten of the team! How am I incompetent?"
"Top ten?" Charles Seymour’s eyes were full of ridicule, almost turning into tangible sharp blades, shredding Bear’s confidence to pieces.
"Is this how rotten the current top ten are?" With Charles Seymour’s words, the anger in the hearts of all the camo-wearing individuals was instantly ignited!
