"Mm..." Sophie Wilson thought for a mont and said, "Looks like my brother is planning to use reality to turn that woman down. At least he’s being pretty straightforward about it."
"Seems like it’s that woman shalessly clinging to my brother. Lucy, don’t you misunderstand my brother, okay? My brother is a good man." Sophie’s words made Lucy Wells laugh. She secretly pinched Sophie and asked, "Sophie, are you doing the whole ’praise by criticizing first’ thing?"
"How can you say that about ? I’m standing right in the middle here, totally fair and impartial." Sophie snorted, speaking with proud arrogance.
"Your brother’s really good. He wouldn’t do anything out of line." Lucy said with a smile, lips pressed together.
Throughout this period of seeing each other, she had clearly felt Kai Bright’s attentiveness and how he looked after her feelings in every possible way.
With a man like that, she just couldn’t believe he was the type who liked to casually ss around with won.
"Oh-ho-ho..." Sophie clicked her tongue in an exaggerated way. "Hurry up and marry into our family already. Look at you, already speaking up for my brother. I, your dear bestie, am about to get pushed aside, you know."
Lucy’s cheeks flushed under Sophie’s teasing. She lightly slapped Sophie’s arm. "That mouth of yours... how does Mr. Seymour even put up with you?"
"My Mr. Seymour loves it." Sophie swaggered a little, twisting her waist proudly.
The two of them were laughing and whispering to each other, completely unaware that their behavior had all fallen into Sophie Lee’s eyes, igniting a blazing fire of fury in her heart.
What kind of occasion is this?
This is a tender eting, and Sophie Wilson and Lucy Wells actually aren’t taking the bidding seriously at all?
Or are they using this kind of behavior to provoke her?
To tell her she’s just a jumping clown, while the two of them are masters at seducing n, and that any prey they set their eyes on can’t escape their palms?
Sophie Lee was shaking with rage. If it weren’t for the setting they were in, she really wanted to rush over and give both Sophie Wilson and Lucy Wells a slap across the face.
These two shaless won—do they really think that just because they’ve latched onto so rich n, they can do whatever they want?
The anger and jealousy in Sophie Lee’s gaze were so strong that even Lucy Wells could sense sothing was off. She was just about to turn her head to look when suddenly Sophie’s arm hooked around her neck. Their heads pressed together, and Lucy only heard Sophie whisper, "Don’t look."
Lucy answered with a puzzled little "Mm."
Sophie chuckled softly. "Why bother caring about soone who doesn’t matter?"
"We just need to be happy. Let the jealous ones keep stewing in the dark corners." Sophie said with a squinty-eyed smile, her arm slung around Lucy’s shoulders.
Ignoring soone is also one of the best weapons for striking back at an enemy.
Since they couldn’t openly snap back in this setting, of course they’d use indifference as their counterattack.
Let that Sophie-sothing keep sulking in the corner, fuming herself to death.
Sophie kept her arm around Lucy as they murmured to each other. Beside them, Charles Seymour watched the mischievous girl with a smile in his eyes. Sophie was getting better and better at infuriating people.
Ti slipped by without anyone noticing. As several staff mbers ca in, the people in the conference hall gradually shut their mouths, and even the low murmurs disappeared.
After a simple opening speech, it was ti to start announcing the bids. Everyone sat up straight, listening intently.
They had already pushed their prices down to the lowest possible point, all in hopes of winning the bid. That way, they wouldn’t just secure this project; they could also use Hayley Cole to get connected to Chairman Cole. They definitely didn’t want to miss such an opportunity.
