"The situation is rather complex." Benjamin Walton finally spoke, but with little spirit.
"What’s so complex? Didn’t Jas Reed put in any effort?" Erie was about to explode with anger.
Not winning the bid, what does that signify?
It ans that Benjamin doesn’t hold that much value anymore.
If that’s the case, her father will find a way to bring her brother back ho!
This ans her father will have to compromise with her brother, and then she will have to sever ties with her parents, and from now on, she will not have any contact with the Wilson Clan.
These issues are rely financial losses; she wouldn’t have much to say about that.
Money is sothing she doesn’t care about.
The key is, she cannot afford to lose face!
Why should the house where she’s spent half her life be given to Sophie Wilson? The most outrageous part is, at the restaurant earlier, she was laughed at by Sophie Wilson!
"How exactly is Jas Reed handling matters?" Erie’s thoughts raced in her mind, furious, "Is Hayley Cole even capable? Isn’t she Chairman Cole’s daughter? Is she fake?"
Erie now desperately wished Hayley Cole would stand before her; she’d give her a good shake to get an explanation.
Why make such grand promises if it wasn’t possible?
It’s humiliating!
How can she face people in the future?
"Erie, let’s talk about it when we get back." Benjamin said, "Don’t disturb Dad; he’s been pretty tired these days."
"Go back for what? No one leaves today until we clear this up!" Erie’s temper flared up, disregarding everyone.
"What do you want to do?" Old Mrs. Wilson angrily slamd the table and glared at Erie, "Is it our fault for not winning the bid? What are you clamoring for here? Do you want to tear down the house?"
"Erie, say less; your father is not feeling well." Seeing her husband’s grim face, Old Mrs. Wilson hurriedly urged Erie; if she really angered her husband into a mishap, the family would lose its backbone.
"Dad is not feeling well, I’m not feeling well either! Do you think Benjamin feels good?" Erie was disregarding everyone, questioning angrily, "If Dad hadn’t intervened, Benjamin’s company might have won the bid a long ti ago."
"Is this again because of Sophie and Charles Seymour?" Erie thought of the most likely possibility, "Hmph, it’s all Sophie causing trouble behind the scenes; she cannot stand the Wilson Clan having good fortune!"
"Now Benjamin’s company is implicated too; who did Benjamin provoke?" Erie complained relentlessly, angering Old Mrs. Wilson into shaking hands; how did he end up with such a brat?
"Get out! Get out right now!" Old Mrs. Wilson pointed at the doorway, face flushed and neck thick with anger; his neck veins bulged, his nacing look scared Erie into shrinking back.
Benjamin seized the opportunity and quickly took Erie away, finally bringing the quarrel to an end.
Old Mrs. Wilson waited until Erie and everyone had left before asking softly, "What’s going on? Is it really because of Sophie? Did they win the bid?"
"Sophie won the bid." Old Mrs. Wilson thought of the situation at that ti, and even now he still found it incredible, "Three people recomnded Sophie’s company as the top candidate. Who else could win if not her?"
"Top candidate?" Old Mrs. Wilson gasped, "In that case, aren’t those who bid with Sophie just foils?"
