Chapter 1010: Chapter 1010: Past Life (7)

Taken to a place where her family couldn’t see her, taken to a place where even his friends didn’t know she existed.

After the incident with Elder Luo, what Gu Qiaoqiao experienced that night at the KTV was no longer worth ntioning.

As the family visit leave ended, he took Gu Qiaoqiao directly to the Border City.

At that ti, he and Gu Qiaoqiao were no different from strangers.

Life in the Border City wasn’t as smooth as imagined, but this was already the best state for now; he couldn’t demand more.

Because the residential community was newly built, many facilities were incomplete, and conditions were tough.

Fortunately, Gu Qiaoqiao was soone who could endure hardships; in such an environnt, he never heard her complain.

This slightly eased his mind.

Although he had no vision for the future, managing to peacefully get through the present was already good enough; he didn’t know when he had lowered his standards for life so much.

Just arriving, Gu Qiaoqiao didn’t know how to do many things, which was normal. He was too lazy to bla her, so he invited Engineer Zheng’s wife, Du Shuang, to help her.

He hardly had ti to stay ho every day, so he went out on a mission, and naturally, he was unaware of what was happening at ho during the mission.

Upon his return, he heard from Luh Fei that Choo Lan and Zhu Xiaohong had visited his ho and were scalded by Gu Qiaoqiao.

And his return date was more than a month after the scalding incident, by which ti Choo Lan was almost healed.

When he learned that Gu Qiaoqiao had only stayed ho and hadn’t visited Choo Lan, he helplessly bought so things to apologize to Choo Lan.

Afterwards, when he asked Gu Qiaoqiao, she didn’t know how she had caused the scalding, but the water was indeed carried by her. Gu Qiaoqiao couldn’t recall many details of the ti, and finally, it was left unresolved.

He stayed at ho for a week, and although it had been three months since they arrived in the Border City, the ti they spent together was scarce, and the words spoken were even fewer.

Despite this, he still keenly felt that Gu Qiaoqiao had changed, becoming gloomy and irritable, not knowing why she quarreled multiple tis with Du Shuang and then stopped associating with her.

On the contrary, she interacted more with Choo Lan, Zhu Xiaohong, and also the wife of their neighbor Engineer Mu.

These were interactions among won, and he couldn’t intervene too much, nor did he have the ti. In fact, he hadn’t really paid attention to these matters then.

Yet, for so unknown reason, Gu Qiaoqiao kept encountering various problems.

Every ti, when he returned from missions outside, he heard ssages about Gu Qiaoqiao quarreling, fighting, and causing trouble with people.

Even after causing trouble, she didn’t know how to handle it.

And he had to clean up after the ss.

At that ti, he felt that sothing seed off, so, in the autumn, he sent Gu Qiaoqiao back to the Gu Family in Stone Town.

Everything in Stone Town was as before; he stayed there for three days and then went straight to the provincial capital for a eting.

He thought Gu Qiaoqiao would stay at her parents’ ho for a while, but unexpectedly, after he finished his eting, Gu Qiaoqiao called and asked him to bring her back.

Ignoring the tears of her mother, and Qianqian’s cries, as if she no longer had any attachnt to this family, which made him sowhat displeased.

Yet, Gu Qiaoqiao insisted on returning with him, so he had to take her back again.

Though Gu Qiaoqiao never interfered with his life outwardly, from that ti on, he felt that Gu Qiaoqiao was watching him.
