He Shan’s eyes flickered with disappointnt, and she muttered to herself, "So, this ti the plan has completely failed..."

At the sa ti, a new wave of anxiety surged in her heart, but she was grateful that she had been in contact with One-Eyed Dragon alone, otherwise those four people would definitely have exposed her.

Luo Er glanced at He Shan indifferently, concealing a slight change in her eyes, and bent down, "Miss, do you have any other requests?"

At this mont, He Shan wished Luo Er would leave quickly, because he seed a bit off today. She waved her hand and hurriedly said, "I have nothing else, thank you for your hard work, Luo Er."

Luo Er replied noncommittally, "That’s what I’m supposed to do."

Then he cleanly turned and left the living room.

After Luo Er left, He Shan finally breathed a sigh of relief, but her face beca even paler. She slowly sat on the sofa, her mind racing.

What should I do?

This ti Gu Qiaoqiao escaped by sheer luck, and it would be incredibly difficult to find another such opportunity.

Moreover, after this experience, they will definitely be on high alert.

Not only will they be on high alert, but they will also track her down behind the curtains, because although those people have never t her, they know what the task was about.

The more she thought about it, the more confused and fearful her once proudly smart mind beca.

After a while, Luo Er knocked on the living room door again, startling He Shan. She looked up to see him, her brow furrowing slightly. Before she could speak, he rushed in and whispered, "Miss, it’s Old Master He on the phone, please answer it."

"My grandfather’s on the phone?" He Shan asked, sowhat uncertain, "What does he want?"

"Naturally, it’s about today’s matter." Luo Er stated matter-of-factly.

He Shan’s expression finally changed, she stared at Luo Er fiercely, with a hint of coldness in her eyes, "You are my subordinate, right?"

"Yes, Miss, I am your subordinate." Luo Er replied calmly.

"Then why did you bypass and report this matter to my grandfather?" He Shan raised her voice, sharp and piercing.

"Miss, because I saw that you had no plan in mind." Luo Er remained unmoved, stating plainly.

"Outrageous!" He Shan held back for a long ti and finally erupted, shouting furiously, "Luo Er, don’t think just because you’re my grandfather’s trusted aide that you can act recklessly. Don’t forget I’m the Miss, I can command you!"

Luo Er remained unmoved, "Miss, you should go answer the phone, rebuke your subordinate afterward."

At this mont, Luo Er’s voice was calm, his gaze deep, his figure slender but exuding a powerful presence at the doorway.

In truth, He Shan knew that she was sowhat afraid of him.

He Shan gritted her teeth but stood up, put down the book in her hands, and quickly walked toward the study. As she passed by Luo Er, she gritted her teeth but suppressed the malice in her eyes, softened her voice, and said, "I’m sorry, I lost my cool earlier."

The most important attribute in life is being flexible, so He Shan’s apology was sincere.

"It’s okay, you’re the Miss, treat however you like." Luo Er said calmly, his voice without any fluctuation.

At this mont, He Shan’s emotions finally returned to normal. She curled her lips into a smile at Luo Er and then walked briskly, pushing open the study door.

The phone lay on the desk, evidently Old Thief He had been waiting for quite a while. Realizing this, He Shan’s heart skipped a beat, she sped up, almost jogging to the desk, picked up the phone, took a deep breath, and said softly, "Grandpa, I’m here!"

"You fool!" From the other end of the line ca Old Thief He’s thunderous roar.

He Shan’s face instantly turned ashen, her lips moved but she dared not retort, instead she tightly gripped the phone and softly said, "Grandpa, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault!"

"Do you actually know it’s your fault?" Old Thief He’s voice was sowhat hoarse, yet seed filled with viciousness. He Shan quickly nodded, "Grandpa, I do know, I really do."

"I think you have no idea, you’ve forgotten who you used to be, haven’t you?" Old Thief He asked in a word-for-word manner.

He Shan’s heart skipped a beat, and her face turned imdiately pale, her lips colorless, yet she straightened her back and, suppressing the trembling inside, responded word by word, "Grandpa, I know who I am!"

"Since you know who you are, why didn’t you inform beforehand when handling this matter?" Old Thief He questioned angrily.

"I thought it was a trivial matter, so..."

Before He Shan could finish, Old Thief He interrupted, not allowing her to explain further, because any explanation now seed hollow. He ground his teeth, "So you went ahead, acted independently, and ruined one of my valiant generals, right?"

He Shan knew One-Eyed Dragon was important, but she didn’t realize it seed even more crucial than she imagined.

"Sorry, Grandfather, it’s my mistake." He Shan admitted weakly.

"I believe you don’t really know your mistake." Old Thief He ground his teeth in anger.

"Grandpa, I truly understand now."

"Then let ask you, since you know you were wrong, why haven’t you thought about making ands?"

"I..."

"Since you know you were wrong, why didn’t you imdiately plan how to handle his aftermath?" Seeing He Shan seemingly still not understanding his true aning, Old Thief He questioned repeatedly in fury.

"His aftermath?" He Shan was montarily stunned.

"Do you think he can just die in vain?" Old Thief He asked ominously.

"Grandpa, what do you suggest I should do?" He Shan’s expression finally changed as she respectfully inquired.

"You should know what to do, but you’ve let your selfish interests blind you. Don’t think I don’t know your little sches. Let tell you, He Shan, put away your little sche and concentrate on the bigger picture." Old Thief He warned aningfully.

He Shan clenched her lips, frustration surged after her secret was exposed, leaving her speechless yet a sense of resentnt welled up, making her hand tremble as she held the phone.

After venting his anger, Old Thief He paused, finally softening his tone and said, "He Shan, you’re a smart child. You should know that once our major undertaking succeeds, you’ll get everything you ever wanted, why let current petty gains affect the overall plan?"

"I understand now, Grandpa. I’ll never make such a mistake again." He Shan’s mind finally cleared, she hurriedly promised.
