Now reading: Chapter 1363: Leaping Into His Heart Lake from Rebirth: He refused to Divorce Again, a Romance novel by Joe Yishui.

Ti flies, and in the blink of an eye, this world has undergone earth-shattering changes.

He went to the Diannan region to search for an herb, for a calamity he would face ten years later.

The herb was difficult to find; he searched high and low across the land, but fortunately, perseverance paid off, and he eventually found it.

However, he also discovered sothing interesting, which was that the Spiritual Energy from a jade mine in Diannan was mysteriously being drained.

He then noticed that the one doing this was a young girl, whose surna was Gu, the successor of the Imperial Capital’s Imperial Treasure Chest, nad Gu Qiaoqiao. Thus, he developed a keen interest in this young girl.

He had mories spanning over a hundred years, yet he had never seen anyone with such high abilities from the Mystic Sect. After seeing the young girl, he secretly observed her.

Ultimately, he discovered that Gu Qiaoqiao knew nothing about the Mystic Sect; she was completely unaware, and there was no ntion of her in the Mystic Sect. Moreover, he had never heard of any ties between the Imperial Capital’s Imperial Treasure Chest and the Mystic Sect.

He only knew that his family owned a lot of gemstones.

Driven by curiosity, he followed her to the Imperial Capital, where he established a research institute, and naturally found Lin Fanpeng, the successor of the Yankong Sect from back then.

Lin Fanpeng was old too, but still highly capable.

With Lin Fanpeng around, everything was easier to arrange.

He then followed Gu Qiaoqiao to Xinjiang, initially skeptical. How could such a young girl, not even twenty years old, possess such extraordinary abilities?

But after the trip to Xinjiang, he was completely convinced.

This young girl nad Gu Qiaoqiao was indeed very capable. As their interactions inexplicably increased, he also purposefully sought them out. He liked the Spiritual Energy from Gu Qiaoqiao’s fingers, allowing his cold body and heart to feel a long-lost warmth.

In the deep, unseen abyss of his heart, he had once harbored a faint hope that this ray of sunshine might shine beside him forever, so he would no longer fear the cold.

Therefore, he sched painstakingly to take Gu Qiaoqiao away and learned from Lin Fanpeng that the Gu Family might have a place hiding gemstones, passed down for hundreds of years, though no one knew its location, as it was said to be protected by a chanism.

Lin Fanpeng said so of the gemstones there were over hundreds of years old.

Upon hearing that, he knew those gemstones contained abundant Spiritual Energy, sparking his intense interest. This was later confird when he successfully found the Gu Family’s Treasure Room, but unfortunately, he couldn’t take any of the spiritually rich gemstones, as the ancestors of the Gu Family were indeed clever.

Because if the gemstones were removed by soone not of Gu Family blood, the self-destruct chanism of the Treasure Room would be activated.

The entire Treasure Room would instantly sink into an underground dark river along with anyone inside.

Thus, he didn’t act recklessly.

Subsequent events involving him and Gu Qiaoqiao beca more frequent, to the point that he could not turn back.

He did not understand his feelings towards the sunny presence of Gu Qiaoqiao.

But when he learned she was already soone else’s wife, apart from wanting to use her, he truly had no other thoughts. He, Dongfang Yu, no matter how dire his situation, could not be interested in soone else’s wife.

Later, Shang Qing entered his sight.

He was not a wooden robot who didn’t understand romance; he noticed the deeply hidden love in the young girl’s eyes.

Such a girl, with a simple nature and little experience, was easy to deceive. So he laid out a series of plots, knowing he couldn’t reciprocate Shang Qing’s feelings, and that what he was doing was sowhat unscrupulous.

But he would leave Shang Qing with so things—items of great age and value. Although the Shang Family had precious antique paintings and calligraphy, what he left for her were treasures beyond belief, a sort of compensation.

He initially thought that when the young girl discovered his deception, she would instantly change her attitude, either rushing at him to curse or crying until the sky turned dark...

He was ntally prepared to deal with all that.

But unexpectedly, at that mont, in the girl’s heart, friendship triumphed over her love for him. Shang Qing jumped off a cliff for Gu Qiaoqiao.

Not everyone has this kind of courage.

Including himself.

Usually, he often felt indifferent about life and death, but when faced with death, there was always so hesitancy.

So at the mont Shang Qing jumped, for a mont his mind was blank, and he felt inexplicably sour, not understanding why Shang Qing would do such a thing.

Could Gu Qiaoqiao hold such an important place in her heart?

But these thoughts were fleeting. His brain didn’t even have ti to process them before his body’s instincts decided everything, and he jumped after her.

Without hesitation.

For soone like him from the Mystic Sect, even labeled by Xiao Bai as very selfish, this action was inconceivable and unbelievable, yet he truly did it.

When he pulled Shang Qing out of the deep pool, he knew that this girl had taken root and sprouted in his heart, never to be removed.

So he didn’t leave with Xiao Bai.

In fact, after the failed plan, he was supposed to leave, return to his imaginary land of joy and plenty, back to the Dongfang Family’s secluded old ho, full of Spiritual Energy, isolated from the world, where he could rest well.

Once he left, not even Gu Qiaoqiao, the top Mystic Sect person at the ti, would find him.

He was confident in that.

After all, at that ti Gu Qiaoqiao was trapped inside the Mysterious Dragon Box and not yet out.

So he could have easily left.

But he didn’t leave; he wouldn’t leave until he saw Shang Qing safe and sound.

Perhaps it was because the distance from the cliff to the lake was too great at that mont, that the girl’s soul and body suffered severe impact and were torn apart, but fortunately, the soul didn’t stray far, and he carefully escorted her and her soul to the hospital.

So things needed doctors to handle, so he watched over her without leaving an inch. Old Master Shang didn’t know the truth, nor did he intend to explain it to them, because he knew there was no future between him and Shang Qing. Once Shang Qing recovered, he would leave the Imperial Capital imdiately, to never cross paths with Shang Qing again.

Regrettably, despite trying many tis to guide the soul back with his body’s Spiritual Energy, he never succeeded.

Because of an abundance of caution each ti, worried about losing control, for if he failed, Shang Qing would never wake up again.

In that case, he would bear the bla, no matter how many tis he died for it.
