"A white tiger cub?" Qiaoqiao raised her eyebrows in surprise, "Is it one of the four divine beasts of Huaxia, the white tiger?"

Dongfang Yu nodded, his long fingers slightly bent, his voice leisurely, as if he were quite proud, "Yes."

Qiaoqiao glanced at Xiao Bai rolling on the ground, its pure white fur and occasionally twitching tail. Its eyes were violet, different from other cats, but upon closer inspection, it seed just like a normal kitten; its ow sounded perfectly like a cat’s ow...

At this mont, Xiao Bai looked completely like a little cat, not showing any signs of being a white tiger, even if it were a white tiger cub, there was no resemblance at all.

Qiaoqiao found it incredible, furrowed her brows to process it, then let go of the topic and softly asked, "What happened next?"

"Later it just followed , all the way until now."

"When you found Xiao Bai, was it wearing that Jade Pendant on its neck?"

Dongfang Yu nodded, "Yes, it was wearing that Jade Pendant. Later, I thought a cat wearing a Jade Pendant was too conspicuous and worried it might not be good for Xiao Bai, so I kept the Jade Pendant for it."

"Do you know the origin of that Jade Pendant?" Qiaoqiao asked eagerly.

Xiao Bai’s mories were vague, so they could only ask Dongfang Yu.

Dongfang Yu shook his head, "I really don’t know about that." Then after a pause, he continued, "But I analyzed that the Jade Pendant was probably given to Xiao Bai by its previous owner."

The previous owner, who could that be?

There must have been an owner, but how could they have lost Xiao Bai and never searched for it? Since they could put such a fine Jade Pendant on Xiao Bai, that person must have known Xiao Bai’s background.

Qiaoqiao pondered, but couldn’t find any clues. Suddenly, she thought of a question, "Why wasn’t its previous owner worried about it being too conspicuous?"

Dongfang Yu said quietly, "Perhaps its owner was truly a master from outside the mortal world."

Then he gave Qiaoqiao a aningful look.

There were so things Dongfang Yu couldn’t say for now because he hadn’t reached a conclusion in his heart. Despite that, a certain certainty had already ford in his mind, that perhaps Gu Qiaoqiao from the Gu Family and this white cat might have so connection.

Only there was no way to prove it right now.

Qiaoqiao stood still, neither speaking nor moving, but her mind was dwelling on Dongfang Yu’s words. She knew there was truth in his words, but whether the master from the mortal world ntioned by Dongfang Yu was actually an ancestor of the Gu Family, was still uncertain. Maybe even Dongfang Yu couldn’t be sure, which is why he spoke so ambiguously.

Seeing Qiaoqiao deep in thought, Dongfang Yu naturally remained silent as well. For a mont, a quietness descended upon the hall. Xiao Bai, accustod to such an atmosphere, didn’t mind at all; it rolled around on the spot a few tis before running off to Shang Qing’s bedroom. Then, a scolding voice could be heard, "Xiao Bai, you’ve ssed up my stuff."

Then ca the sounds of crashing, owing from Xiao Bai, and the silver-bell-like laugh of a young girl.

Clearly, while playing, the two of them, person and cat, ended up in a playful ss.

Qiaoqiao glanced towards Shang Qing’s direction, casting aside the notions in her head, she quickly headed towards the Treasure Room where gemstone boxes were stored, knowing exactly what to do.

Upon entering Dongfang Yu’s Treasure Room, everything was as it was, unchanged. Obviously, Dongfang Yu hadn’t had a chance to co here since returning.

Following Dongfang Yu’s instructions, Qiaoqiao found the box containing treasures related to the Northwestern region. Upon opening it, though she was ntally prepared, Qiaoqiao was still taken aback.

She only knew of the box’s existence, hadn’t opened it on her last visit, but she was aware it contained extraordinary items. However, she didn’t expect it to truly hold many invaluable treasures.

Do not underestimate the Great Northwest. Since pre-Qin tis, multiple ethnic groups have inhabited this region. Throughout the ages, power changed hands, rising and falling, stories of the mortal world beyond words. Subsequently, the opening of the Silk Road transpired.

The Silk Road was an earth-shattering link, traversing the vast Eurasian interior, serving as the overland bridge connecting the ancient capitals of civilization, Changan and Ro.

In the long years before mariti trade erged, the Silk Road crossed grasslands and deserts, spanned countless mountains and rivers, bridging the geographic gap between the land of Huaxia and the distant Western world, and initiated multi-faceted exchanges in a true sense.

It can be said without exaggeration that it accelerated the advancent of world civilization.

Naturally, along this route, extrely rich treasures were also harbored.

Though Qiaoqiao had learned a lot from the Old Patriarch and Zhang Yi, learning is endless. She had attended many gatherings with the Old Patriarch; the content of the gatherings remained the sa, yet each one brought new discoveries and insights.

This ti, opening Dongfang Yu’s box was no exception.

The items in the box, akin to Dongfang Yu’s interests, consisted of gold ornants engraved with various totems, along with precious gold foils. Achieving such craftsmanship in that era was unparalleled.

In the corner of the red sandalwood box lay several tripodal cauldrons and pottery figurines mounted on horseback.

Seeing the colors on them, Qiaoqiao thought, clearly, they must also have a history spanning over a thousand years.

Qiaoqiao lingered only for a mont, scanning them, she found the antiques impeccably preserved, possibly owing to the Spiritual Energy in this room.

Qiaoqiao carefully deliberated, realizing so of the larger antiques were unsuitable for Shang Qing to take out, as the antique market in the Great Northwest wasn’t abundant. It wasn’t easy to find underestimated treasures, and upon returning ho, they might be easily recognized by family mbers.

At this mont, Qiaoqiao did feel a tinge of guilt.

But once the bow is pulled, there’s no turning back. With things as they were, she could only forge ahead with determination.

Qiaoqiao selected two items, a pair of gold clasps shaped like peonies, and a gold ornant carved with a tiger.

The items were small enough to be easily carried.

She believed that bringing these two items back would surely bring a smile to Old Master Shang’s face.

Holding these two pieces, Qiaoqiao then covered the red sandalwood box, glanced around Dongfang Yu’s Treasure Room, and couldn’t help but marvel at Dongfang Yu’s profound foundation, rivaling that of Yubao Square.

Bear in mind that the items of Yubao Square had been passed down through generations of the Gu Family, while Dongfang Yu was just a single individual.
