Lih Tianci shook off the two of them with a kick each, cursing, "Two useless things, hurry up and leave. If those two chicks call soone, it will be trouble..."
At this mont, Lih Tianci realized his face was terribly swollen. When he wiped it with his hand, damn it, it was bleeding. Those chicks were too ruthless.
This was the first ti he had encountered such a woman; he must get her.
Then he continued to scold, "I give you until tomorrow morning to investigate and dig up information on that little beauty from earlier..."
The two n felt sowhat better than before and stamred, "Yes, yes, boss, don’t worry. We’ll make sure you know who she is before the sun cos up tomorrow..."
This was more like it. Lih Tianci then touched his face again, swore a few more tis, and headed with his two subordinates toward the direction of the back mountain.
Of course, they wouldn’t take the main entrance. Once out of the woods and over the wall, they’d be off-campus.
When Gu Qiaoqiao ca ho that evening, Qin Yize had already finished work. That was truly rare enough, and now, the aroma of food was wafting through her kitchen.
Qin Yize’s cooking skills had improved a lot; no one could imagine the genius Doctor Qin turned into a good husband at ho, wearing a checkered apron and cooking for his wife.
This is a real man!
Great enough to serve the country and its people, yet able to cherish his wife, Gu Qiaoqiao smiled as she quickly went into the kitchen.
Satisfied, she hugged her man’s slim waist from behind, resting her face against his back, and said coyly, "Ah Ze, it slls so good..."
Qin Yize calmly stirred the pot containing a blood-enriching soup made especially for Gu Qiaoqiao. He didn’t turn around but his voice carried a smile, "Is it Ah Ze that slls good or the soup in the pot?"
Gu Qiaoqiao lightly hit his shoulder and peeked her small head out from behind him, sniffling, "Of course it’s the soup in the pot that slls good. You’re not a woman, where would you sll good?"
"Oh?" Qin Yize feigned surprise, "Then who said I have the fresh scent of grass, just irresistibly pleasant..."
"It definitely wasn’t ."
"My wife really can change faces faster than flipping a book."
Then, he put down the ladle and grabbed the little wife behind him, bending down and kissing her hard...
Even if they’ve kissed countless tis, each feels as thrilling as the first.
Gu Qiaoqiao’s next words were then muffled by his kiss. She whimpered, unable to speak, and realized her husband’s kissing skills were genuinely improving, his lips soft like clouds, icy sweet like candied haws. Okay, she admitted, she was crazy about his scent. As long as this aura enveloped her, she’d forget who she was.
Qin Yize, gentle as water, yet possessive as the wind.
Gu Qiaoqiao soon pushed the afternoon’s unpleasantness out of her mind, until the pot started bubbling, interrupting the couple lost in their lingering kiss. Slowly parting, Qin Yize held his little wife with his left arm, stirring with a ladle in his right, his eyes filled with a satisfied smile. Just then, the phone in the living room rang.
Qin Yize and Gu Qiaoqiao exchanged a glance, and Gu Qiaoqiao chuckled, "I’ll answer the phone."
As she walked, she wondered, who would be calling so late?
As soon as she picked up, An Xiaotong’s urgent voice ca through the receiver, "Qiaoqiao, you’re really at ho. Is your Ah Ze back?"
Gu Qiaoqiao was stunned; the call was for Qin Yize, and the voice was anxious since An Xiaotong normally wouldn’t contact them after work hours.
"Ah Ze is ho. I’ll have him take the call right away. Wait a mont..." Gu Qiaoqiao didn’t even get a chance to ask what the urgency was before shouting towards the kitchen, "Qin Yize, co take the call."
Qin Yize paused in his stirring, but quickly set down the ladle and rushed out of the kitchen, wondering if he was being called for an urgent mission.
So he moved fast, reaching the phone almost as soon as Gu Qiaoqiao finished speaking. He took the receiver from Gu Qiaoqiao, "This is Qin Yize."
"Qin Yize, are you busy right now?"
"No, An Xiaotong, just tell what’s up."
"Du Tian went to settle accounts with his father. I just called Chu Chengfeng, but he’s neither at ho nor the restaurant. I can’t get out, so I’m asking you. Could you please go to the old Du Family residence and bring Du Tian back? If things go missing, we can find them slowly; a fight would damage the father-son relationship. It’s already tense enough. He only listens to you, Ah Ze, I’m counting on you."
An Xiaotong quickly rattled off a slew of words.
Qin Yize frowned slightly, not asking about what was missing, just nodding, "Alright, I’ll go right away."
After speaking, Qin Yize didn’t hesitate, handing the receiver to Gu Qiaoqiao, whose eyes were wide open, "I’ll go and be right back. If you’re hungry, go ahead and eat without waiting for ."
"It’s okay, I’m not hungry. Why don’t you bring Du Tian over for dinner?" Gu Qiaoqiao suggested.
It’s much closer to bring Du Tian here than for him to go back to his and An Xiaotong’s ho.
"That works."
With that, Qin Yize took off his apron, put on his coat, and strode out.
Then, the sound of a Jeep starting up was heard, and at that mont, An Xiaotong had not yet hung up. Gu Qiaoqiao knew she was anxious and quickly comforted her, "Sister Xiaotong, Ah Ze has left, don’t worry, he’ll bring Du Tian over soon."
"Mm, it’s good for him to go to your place first. You and Ah Ze can talk to him, losing things can be dealt with slowly, no need to fight with family. It would just give others reason to laugh." An Xiaotong seed slightly relieved, yet her tone was still urgent.
"What’s this all about?" Gu Qiaoqiao asked in surprise, "What was lost?"
"You know Du Tian’s current mom is his stepmother, right?" An Xiaotong pondered for a mont and asked.
Since it’s not a secret, everyone knows about it.
Gu Qiaoqiao nodded, "Of course I know."
It’s not a secret.
"Big Brother Du’s birth mother left so jewelry at the old residence, and there’s a jade pendant she said before dying must be passed on to her grandson.
The child is about to turn a month old, so he could wear these things. He went back to the old residence to find them, but that jade pendant was gone, as were a few other items.
His stepmother swore she’d never been in that room nor touched those things, swearing up and down. I think, given her status, it’s unlikely she’d steal sothing from her husband’s ex-wife, especially as it’s inauspicious. I advised him to search slowly, maybe his dad kept it elsewhere."
