Now reading: Chapter 127 Everyone is so awesome (1/3) from Rebirth: I became rich by farming, a Eastern novel by Autumn Letter.

Fan Tianyu timed the call for when Mei Mengzhen would have finished her military training and sorted herself out. He briefly filled her in on the past twenty days and focused mainly on the fact that it was Saturday today and she had Sunday off. As a partner and co-owner, he wanted her to be up to speed with his work progress.

Mei Mengzhen naturally had no issues, "Sure, I’m off tomorrow, Sunday. Where are you now? Should I e to you, or will you pick me up?"

"I’ll pick you up, and since you’ve just started school, I’ll take you to get some essentials on the way."

Mei Mengzhen laughed, "The essentials are available at the university supermarket. There’s no need for you to drive over just to take me shopping."

"You can’t say that, your phone has been in use for so many years now. And doesn’t someone from the puter Department need a puter? I’ve been wanting to buy you one, but I thought you’d be busy with military training for 20 days and there’d be no one in the dormitory, so I didn’t mention it. Let’s just get it all tomorrow."

"A puter, huh? That does seem necessary." No matter what you’re doing, having a puter is more convenient, especially for them in the puter Department, "Okay then, what time will you e pick me up tomorrow?"

"There are many places we need to visit tomorrow, so I’ll be at your university gate to pick you up at 9 AM. Make sure you’ve had breakfast."

"Alright, see you tomorrow."

After hanging up, the gazes of the other three in the dormitory focused on her.

Yan Keke asked curiously, "Brother Tianyu, who? Your boyfriend?"

"My cousin." As soon as they heard it was her cousin, the others lost interest. But when it came to buying puters, Yan Keke inquired, "Are you guys planning to buy puters?"

Everyone nodded, "Yeah, it’d be more convenient for our major to have puters."

"How about this then, since we’re getting puters, we’ll surely need broadband too. We could split the costs evenly, each person paying their share. The dormitory leader can advance the money, and then we’ll pay her back. Does that work?"

Mei Mengzhen made this fair proposal. As for the dormitory leader, none of the four of them were too ambitious, so in the end, they decided based on age, with Yan Keke, born in January, being the dormitory leader.

Yan Keke had no objections to advancing the money; after all, they would pay her back. "That’s a good idea. Then let’s also arrange cleaning duties by age. I’ll start since I’m born on January 2nd and will clean tomorrow. Luo Yingying is March 1st and will follow me. Mei Mengzhen is March 2nd and will follow Luo Yingying. The youngest, He Yiran, born on May 8th, will follow Mei Mengzhen. From now on, we’ll rotate cleaning duties like this, and we can discuss any inconveniences later."

Everyone agreed, and as they finished sorting this out, Liu Pei came looking for them. Liu Pei was morose; seeing that four from the same department were assigned to one dormitory, excluding her, she couldn’t feel happy, "Why am I the only one left out? You’re all in the same dorm."

"It’s okay, you can still e to us for classes and stuff. Which room are you in?" Luo Yingying asked.

"I’m in the one next door; the other three are from the Mathematics Department."

Mathematics Department, huh? "Oh, is there someone named Bi Xiaoyu in your dorm?" Mei Mengzhen asked out of curiosity, thinking if there were Mathematics Department students next door, Bi Xiaoyu might be in the same building as well.

As expected, Liu Pei shook her head, "No, but I know where she is. She knows someone from my dorm. She’s in 306." Letting out a sigh, Liu Pei added, "It’s true what they say, excellent people always stick together. Not like me. My grades were quite good at my old school, but here at Jiangcheng University, I just barely made the cutoff. By the way, how many points did you all score?"

Luo Yingying said, "I was remended."

He Yiran also said, "Me too."

Yan Keke added, "I scored 687 points."

Mei Mengzhen said, "I got 702 points. You guys who were remended are really amazing."

She hadn’t been remended; no one from her school participated in any petitions, where her grades would have only resulted in a beatdown. Her grades had picked up too late, past the petition window, rendering her ineligible for remendation.

Liu Pei felt like crying, "Mei Mengzhen, you took my words right out of my mouth. I should be the one saying how impressive it is for you to have been remended. Plus, your 702 points are very impressive too."

"There’s nothing impressive about that; 702 points weren’t even the top score in my batch. There’s someone who scored even higher than me."

It was best to be modest at times like this, to avoid making a fool of oneself in a university filled with hidden dragons and crouching tigers.

Liu Pei felt knocked back just by walking through the door, seeing the four academic masters. paring them to her own grades, she suddenly didn’t feel so down. Living alongside them, subject to their academic prowess every day, would have been worse than moving to another dorm.

"Academic masters, please make sure to lend me your notes before exams. I don’t ask for much, just to pass and graduate smoothly."

The four smiled and didn’t refuse, but they also didn’t mit, as Liu Pei’s modesty was evident. At a key university like Jiangcheng University, could someone with truly poor performance even get admitted? So they didn’t take her words too seriously.

After sending Liu Pei off, one by one, the four took turns to wash up and then rest.

The day passed quickly and peacefully. Mei Mengzhen slept soundly despite the change of bed, only to remember just before sleep that she had forgotten something. But she couldn’t recall what it was, and, mulling it over, she fell into deep sleep.

The next morning, Mei Mengzhen woke up with a start from her bed. She finally remembered what she had forgotten to do—she had neglected her younger brother.

She had promised to call him after she got out of the military training ground, and yet she had pletely forgotten.

Checking the time on her phone, it was 8 o’clock sharp. Glancing at the roommates still sleeping soundly in their beds, she quickly got up, finished a series of tasks quietly, grabbed her backpack, and left.

As soon as she walked out of the dormitory building, she immediately called Mei Yinan’s number since they didn’t have a landline at home, and Mei Mengchen didn’t have a cell phone. There was no other choice but to contact her there.

The call was answered after a short while, and the voice of her aunt came from the other end, "Hello, Zhenzhen, you’re back at the university!"

"Yes, aunt. I hope I didn’t wake you guys up too early with this call."

"No, you didn’t. Chenchen has already finished his breakfast." As soon as Mei Yinan mentioned that Mei Mengchen had had breakfast, the clever boy guessed it was his sister calling. From a distance, she could hear her brother’s questioning, "Sister, is that you? Aunt, let me talk to my sister, sister, sister."

Mei Mengchen’s voice drew nearer, and soon he took over Mei Yinan’s phone.
