Wu Yun didn’t press the issue and took a bite himself.
Just as the server had said, it was incredibly fragrant, and the at was tender and soft.
Even though it was cooked dium, Wu Yun didn’t taste any gaminess. All he could taste was the rich flavor of the beef and the seasoning.
As he ate, Wu Yun observed the group. He noticed Lin Fan knew all the guys well and got along with them splendidly, so he asked Qi Fei, "Did they all get together often before? How is Lin Fan, a third-year directing major, so chummy with your crowd?"
"Lin Fan doesn’t really take his major seriously," Qi Fei explained. "He’s in the directing departnt, but his photography skills are the best here. He’s done free photoshoots for everyone present, including . Mine was an outdoor shoot in historical costu, though."
Upon hearing this, Wu Yun grew excited. "Wait, you have pictures from a photoshoot? Let see! I’m a professional too, you know."
"Perfect! I could even shoot so other styles for you. A private photoshoot, for instance! Hehehe!" Wu Yun whispered in Qi Fei’s ear, unable to stop himself from chuckling.
Qi Fei laughed and cursed, "Pervert!"
"Senior, tell more about Lin Fan," Wu Yun said with a smile. "Don’t you think he kind of sticks out in this group?" And it was true—Lin Fan was easily the least attractive person at the table.
"Lin Fan’s family is very wealthy, so he just coasts through his classes in the directing departnt. He and Zhang Yun t during a photoshoot, and they’ve been together for a little less than half a year now."
Qi Fei continued, "But from what I’ve heard through the campus grapevine, Lin Fan is a bit of a player and goes through girlfriends quickly. The fact that he’s been with Zhang Yun this long is actually a record for him. No one expected it."
"So what does his family do?"
"I heard they’re in real estate or investnts. Anyway, they’re very rich, but he’s pretty low-key about it. Why? Are you interested in him?" Qi Fei retorted.
"You said his photography skills are great. I was thinking of exchanging so pointers with him," Wu Yun said with a smile.
Qi Fei covered her mouth to hide a laugh. "I think you want to exchange tips on picking up girls with him! Well, don’t you go learning his ways!"
The group continued to eat their steaks and chat.
One thing had changed, however. After everything that had just happened, Qi Fei’s friends and their boyfriends were much warr toward Wu Yun. It was hard to say whether it was the few drinks they’d had or the fact that Wu Yun had just flexed his financial muscle.
After dinner, Wu Yun invited everyone to a deluxe private room he had booked at a karaoke bar to sing for a while.
Since he had to go to the relevant governnt agency to sign papers and also finalize a contract with Wei Feng the next day, Wu Yun only sang a few songs. After exchanging contact information with everyone, he had Qi Fei drive him back to the Peace Restaurant.
He left behind a group of excited young n and won.
...
The next day, since Qi Fei had classes, Wu Yun got up bright and early. The two had breakfast at the hotel, after which Wu Yun drove her back to campus, promising to co find her after he finished his business.
The Huashan Road Campus of Modu Drama Academy wasn’t very far from Lujiazui, so after dropping off Qi Fei, Wu Yun quickly made his way to the governnt agency, arriving just as they were opening for the day.
The clerk from the registration agency and Wei Feng were already waiting at the entrance.
"Sorry to keep you waiting! President Wei, after we’re done signing, we’ll need to head to the bank to transfer the funds into the corporate account."
"Sounds good!"
Money certainly made things easier. The agency staff handled the entire process from start to finish, leaving Wu Yun and Wei Feng to simply sit and chat in the waiting area.
"President Wu, President Wei. Could you please co over and sign?" The clerk ca over and led Wu Yun to the appropriate service window.
The docunts were split into two stacks: one for Pinduoduo and one for Phoenix Entertainnt.
"President Wei, please wait a mont while I show President Wu where to sign." The clerk then flipped through the docunts, skillfully pointing out each signature line for Wu Yun to sign his na.
Soon, the docunts for Pinduoduo were all signed, and Wu Yun moved on to the stack for Phoenix Entertainnt.
By mid-morning, Wu Yun had finally finished dealing with all the company registration matters.
anwhile, his system experience had shot up by a huge amount. He had injected 100 million into Pinduoduo and used 150 million for Phoenix Entertainnt.
Experience carried over: Level 6 (420,000,000 / 1,000,000,000)
His bank account balance now read: 47,191,838 yuan.
Seeing his balance drop back down to eight figures, Wu Yun couldn’t help but sigh. ’Money really doesn’t last long.’
After settling the service fees with the registration agency, Wu Yun and Wei Feng found a coffee shop. First, they signed the equity distribution agreent that had been prepared beforehand.
Once that was done, Wu Yun was ready to discuss future developnt with Wei Feng.
"President Wei, as for the company’s overall direction, I’ll leave the managent to you. When it cos to investnts, if I’m not in Modu, I’ll just work remotely. I’ll need you to put in so extra effort on the organizational structure. If you can poach so of your old team mbers, that would be even better. We could hit the ground running."
Wei Feng nodded. "President Wu, I have a few tips I’d like to discuss with you, to see if they’re worth investing in."
Wei Feng took a sip of coffee and continued, "According to inside sources in our industry, Wu Jin is more than halfway through filming *Wolf Warrior* and has run out of funds. Since he can’t find any new investors, he’s preparing to mortgage his 80-million-yuan mansion in Yanjing to finish the movie. This is our chance!"
Wu Yun sipped his coffee, his confidence in Wei Feng’s abilities and foresight growing.
Seeing that Wu Yun didn’t respond, Wei Feng rembered that his new boss was still a layman in this field. He explained, "This military action film Wu Jin is shooting is also a patriotic film. Based on my research into industry trends, movies and TV shows with patriotic thes are going to receive major governnt support in the coming years! Plus, according to Wu Jin’s plan, *Wolf Warrior* is going to be a multi-film series! It’s a huge potential IP!"
Wu Yun nodded. "President Wei, I trust you. I’ll leave this in your hands. We can discuss the investnt amount later. For now, go and feel things out!"
Wei Feng took out a notebook, scribbled sothing in it, and then spoke again. "So, the first matter is investnt. The second is building up our library of copyrights. I have a list of novels whose film and TV adaptation rights we could purchase."
Wu Yun took the notebook and glanced at it. He realized that nearly half the titles listed were for TV series he rembered from his previous life, including *Eternal Love* and *Spy War on the Bund*, the original novel that *Disguiser* was based on.
However, Wu Yun noticed an issue: the list was missing two books that would beco extrely famous later, *Ghost Blowing Light* and *Tomb Raider Notes*.
So Wu Yun said, "President Wei, try to acquire the rights for as many of these as you can. But why don’t I see *Ghost Blowing Light* and *Tomb Raider Notes* on here?"
"I looked into *Ghost Blowing Light* before, but the rights are fragnted and a bit of a ss to acquire."
