On the first day of military training, Wu Yun and his three roommates woke up early, put on the old-fashioned camouflage uniforms, and after a hasty breakfast, rushed to the classroom where they had their class eting the previous night.
Today would be Wu Yun’s first day of military training since his rebirth, and also his last.
During his video call with Qi Fei the previous night, she had told him that she’d secured their office space. On top of that, he needed to sign so docunts for the business registration. Wu Yun decided to request a leave of absence from military training. He would use the opportunity to inspect the Little Red Car branch office in Modu. Although the system monitoring showed no issues, he felt that as the chairman, he should still go take a look and make his presence known.
Once everyone had arrived, Li Yan walked in with a tall, well-built soldier who had sharp, chiseled features and a resolute expression. "Class," she announced, "this is Instructor Liu. For the next fifteen days, he will be leading your military training!"
A stir went through the girls below the lectern.
After making the introduction, Li Yan turned and headed to Class Two.
Standing on the platform, Instructor Liu pulled out a sheet of A4 paper and said, "Alright, I’m going to take roll call now to get to know everyone!"
"..." "Here!"
......
Whether in high school or university, the first step of military training was always to stand at attention. This single exercise accomplished multiple goals.
It not only served as an initial show of authority to the "dear" students, but also tempered their willpower and reinforced a sense of discipline.
And sure enough, Business Managent Class One had already been standing under the sun for nearly twenty minutes.
The late autumn sun was still scorching hot. Even though it was morning and the sun hadn’t reached its peak, it was enough to leave everyone drenched in sweat.
They were supposed to stand for only fifteen minutes, but the ti was extended by five minutes because a few people in the ranks couldn’t stop fidgeting.
Perhaps because it was only the beginning of the training, no one had collapsed from heatstroke or other causes yet.
"Alright! Shake it out for two minutes!" Instructor Liu’s command rang out.
Everyone instinctively relaxed, rotating their ankles and complaining to the students next to them.
Wu Yun glanced around, completely unfazed. He saw that most of the other classes on the field were still standing at attention; only a few were taking a break in place like they were.
The two minutes passed quickly.
"Atten~tion!" a drawn-out command rang out, and everyone snapped straight.
"Right~ dress!"
"Next, we’ll practice facing movents. Everyone! First three rows, squat down! Watch what I do!..."
During the break, Wu Yun and the other boys from Class One were squatting in the shade of a tree near the fence, resting.
Liu Yongheng was heard complaining, "Big mistake. I should’ve bought so water today!"
As soon as Liu Yongheng said that, he saw a girl from their class a short distance away pull out a bottle of water, and he gulped.
Just then, a boy from a neighboring dorm shouted, "Holy shit! Check out the hottie! Her body is smokin’! And those legs... TSK TSK TSK!"
At his words, everyone turned to look at a figure standing outside the field’s fence, holding an umbrella and wearing shorts and a T-shirt.
Wu Yun glanced over. It was Wen ng.
She was holding a clear plastic bag with a few bottles of water and looking around, scanning the freshn in their training uniforms.
Seeing this, Wu Yun shouted, "Wen ng! Over here!"
His voice carried clearly across the relatively quiet field to Wen ng’s ears.
Wen ng followed the sound of his voice and spotted Wu Yun by the fence, along with a crowd of boys next to him staring at her with star-struck expressions.
Girls who studied dance walked with a particular elegance, and when combined with Wen ng’s tall, perfect figure, she drew the eyes of many. People started to murmur amongst themselves.
Ignoring the stares, Wen ng walked up to the fence. Juggling her umbrella and the plastic bag in one arm, she used her free hand to pull out a bottle of ice-cold water.
Wu Yun took the four bottles of ice-cold water and handed three to Liu Yongheng and his friends. He then grinned. "Talk about being on the sa wavelength! I was just dying for a drink, and here you are!"
Wen ng covered her mouth as she giggled, her chest trembling with the movent. This sight made the many single guys who had been sneaking glances burn with envy.
"You’re such a smooth talker. No wonder so many girls like you! It puts a lot of pressure on , you know!"
Wu Yun took a long swig of water and then said to Wen ng in a low voice, "My mouth isn’t just good for talking. It’s good for... blowing, too."
Wen ng covered her mouth. "You’re awful! Pervert!"
"What were *you* thinking? I ant I’m good at blowing smoke!" Wu Yun said, looking up at the sky with an expression that scread, ’You’re the one with the dirty mind.’
By now, Liu Yongheng and the other two had tactfully moved away, no longer disturbing the couple’s flirting.
Wen ng leaned in close, licking her lips. "So, are you coming ho to sleep tonight? I’ll be waiting for you~"
Wu Yun sighed in exasperation. "You’re just teasing on purpose, aren’t you? You know they do room checks at night, yet you’re still trying to seduce . Just you wait, I’ll teach you a lesson tomorrow!"
Just as Wu Yun was about to say sothing else, a command to fall in rang out from nearby.
Wu Yun waved her off. "Go on, head back! I have to co back for sothing tomorrow anyway. Be good, get yourself all clean, and wait for !"
With that, he ran toward the ranks that were quickly falling into formation.
The day was quickly coming to an end.
Under the glare of the field’s floodlights, the six Business Managent classes gathered in a corner of the field, sitting on the ground in a large circle.
The echoes of military songs reverberated across the field, with each round growing louder than the one before.
The six instructors huddled together to confer. Afterward, Instructor Liu stepped forward and said, "Alright! We’ll take a break from singing for a bit! It’s ti for a talent show. Anyone want to volunteer to perform sothing!?"
The mont he finished speaking, the crowd fell silent. So of the girls even buried their faces between their knees, as if trying to disappear.
Seeing this, Wu Yun decided to liven things up. Keeping his head down, he shouted from within the crowd, "How about the instructors go first!"
"Who was that? Who said that? Step up and perform!" Instructor Liu’s eyes scanned his own class, trying to find the source of the voice.
When no one spoke up, Instructor Liu broke into a wide grin. "Not going to volunteer, are we? Fine. Everyone listen up: there’s a reward for turning him in. The snitch won’t have to perform! If nobody points him out, the entire class gets punished!"
Seeing how things were going, Wu Yun decided not to test everyone’s loyalty. He stood up boldly and said, "Instructor, it was ."
"Alright! Wu Yun, step forward!" Of the ten or so boys in the class, Wu Yun was the one Instructor Liu rembered most clearly. It wasn’t just because Wu Yun was the most handso, but also because of that gorgeous girlfriend of his with the perfect figure.
’Don’t think for a second that drill instructors are all perfect gentlen. In the army, after a while even a sow starts to look like a supermodel, to say nothing of a cushy assignnt like this one, surrounded by co-eds.’
"Instructor, I can do so street dancing," Wu Yun said, stepping out of the ranks after a mont’s thought.
’Money really is a superpower.’ Wu Yun had spent a million, and in an instant, his understanding and execution of street dance had reached a level of mastery.
When the other squads saw that soone was stepping up to perform—and a handso, energetic-looking guy at that—they began to applaud. The boys and girls of Class One, however, started screaming to cheer Wu Yun on.
Wu Yun gave a couple of dry coughs to clear his throat. "Hey everyone, I’m Wu Yun. I’m going to perform a few street dance moves for you all. Please go easy on if I’m no good."
