“It’s like this…” Liu Ling did not hide the truth from them. “Thirty years ago, the first occupants of this apartment were a married couple. Due to serious illness, they mitted suicide by hanging themselves on a rope against the water pipes in the bathroom.”
Bai Jingrou was frightened into immediately backing away from the bathroom.
“The second owner of this apartment lost his mind after purchasing this apartment. He killed his wife and children and even dismembered their bodies.” Liu Ling brought out several newspaper cut-outs from her bag. “Here are the news articles for both incidents. Since then, this apartment has bee a ‘haunted’ house and the price has steadily dropped. The most frightening incident happened to the third occupants. It was bought at half the market price and the female owner was murdered by her lover. He froze her body in the freezer and lived in this home for half a month. When her husband returned, he then killed her husband. After this matter, the lover was afraid of being punished by law and mitted suicide in this apartment.”
The more Liu Ling spoke, the more frightened she also felt. “Five lives have already been lost in this apartment. After changing occupant thrice, the apartment was never sold again no matter how low the prices fell.”
As Fang Xinxin was the future Madam Bai, Liu Ling did not dare to hide the truth from her.
Bai Jingrou trembled at her words. Perhaps it was due to her irrational fears, but she felt as though there were many pairs of eyes watching her in the apartment.
She wanted to tug Bai Chenxi to leave with her. However, she realised that if she captured photos of Fang Xinxin and Bai Chenxi here, she could make up a story of them hiding in a haunted house in fear of being caught. It would be a piece of evidence that was extremely difficult to refute!
By then, there would be no need to mention a wedding, Fang Xinxin would immediately be chased out of the Bai home.
At this thought, she gathered her courage and shot Bai Chenxi a look.
Bai Chenxi also hoped to gather evidence and control Fang Xinxin. Thus, he managed to overe his fear and decided that he would forcefully kiss Fang Xinxin when they entered the next room.
However, they first had to make Liu Ling leave.
They were in the midst of looking for a good opportunity when Liu Ling’s phone rang. She rushed to the balcony. “I’m so sorry. Please let me answer a call.”
Fang Xinxin and the Bai family’s siblings were left alone in the living room.
Bai Chenxi pretended to trip and fell towards Fang Xinxin with his arms stretched.
But Fang Xinxin appeared to have eyes on the back of her head. She immediately took a step to the side to avoid him.
Bai Jingrou had raised her phone to take a photo of them, but only managed to snap images of her elder brother falling onto the ground alone.
A resentful male voice could suddenly be heard. “What are you doing…”
“Ghost!” Bai Jingrou jumped in fright. Her phone instantly fell onto the ground.
Even Bai Chenxi’s plexion turned white due to the stranger’s voice.
Fang Xinxin turned around to look at Tong Yu. She nodded slightly as a form of greeting.
Tong Yu approached them and stopped two steps behind her.
“It’s you.” Tong Yu used to follow Bai Qinghao. Hence Bai Jingrou naturally recognised him. “Why did you e here? And why did you speak up suddenly like that?”
“Miss Fang instructed me to e.” Tong Yu responded expressionlessly. “We were supposed to have arrived downstairs at the same time. However, Miss Fang’s Aston Martin is too expensive and it wasn’t safe to park it by the roadside. The nearby car parks were also full. I came late because it took me some time to park the car.”
Bai Chenxi grumbled. “Xinxin, why would you bring your chauffeur to look at an apartment?”
Fang Xinxin responded lightly. “To keep you siblings from harbouring ill-intentions.”
“How is that possible…” Bai Chenxi sneered coldly.
“If it’s impossible, why did you throw yourself at me earlier?” Fang Xinxin smiled coldly. “And Bai Jingrou, what were you trying to do with your phone camera earlier?”
Bai Jingrou appeared slightly embarrassed as she picked up her phone.. “I accidentally clicked on the camera button earlier.”
