Pri Minister’s face was etched with the ravages of ti and he cursed furiously: "What about the Concubine? She is far better than you, you venomous and vile woman! You’ve enjoyed decades of luxury in our house, yet you not only have failed to bear a son but even had the heart to murder the son I’ve begged and pleaded for, how cruel and ruthless you are!"

Pri Minister tried to contain his anger, his eyes staring harshly at madam.

"Pri Minister, I truly did not commit such deeds." Madam’s eyes were brimming with the impulse to cry.

How could Pri Minister scold her in front of this lowly woman! Has he forgotten that she is his Main Wife?

"The evidence is irrefutable, yet you still dare to deny it. My dear Hao is dead because of you." That scene which unfolded on the street was still fresh in Nineteenth Aunt’s mory.

That dwarf, vicious like an evil spirit, taking her son’s life in a single move, transforming him from a lively child to a lifeless corpse in an instant.

Rembering all of these, her heart ached imasurably.

Of course, there’s also the most crucial point – without this son, the glory and riches of her latter days could no longer be assured.

Madam: "Shut your mouth, you wretch."

Pri Minister glared: "You’re the one who should shut up. The person with the least right to speak in this house is you."

"Pri Minister, what nonsense are you spouting? I am your rightfully and properly wedded wife."

"In my heart, you have long ceased to be. If it weren’t for our daughter becoming the Empress, I would have already cast you out."

The truth is always hard to accept.

The Pri Minister’s Wife started to break down. Although the Pri Minister had taken many concubines, she firmly believed that she, as the Main Wife, held the utmost importance in Pri Minister’s heart. But at this mont, his words completely shattered the last of her illusions.

"How... how can you treat this way?"

"I have already done right by you to the utmost, being generous and justified. Your vicious mind has snuffed out our family’s only lineage. Leaving you alive is only for our daughter’s sake. Fine then, from now on you may go take the nun’s vows. Go to the nunnery and accompany the ancient Buddhas by the dim lamplight for your next life. Whether you live or die henceforth has nothing to do with ."

How heartless were Pri Minister’s words.

Madam was stunned, her disbelief palpable: "Pri Minister, you can’t treat like this."

"What, being spared your life still isn’t enough for you?"

"I wish to stay by Pri Minister’s side, to serve him for a lifeti." What place was the nunnery? With simple Buddha lamps, ager vegetables for fare, and worse yet, enduring the despair of washing one’s own clothes and doing household chores – how could a madam who had enjoyed decades of luxury bear it?

"In this lifeti, I have no desire to see you again." Pri Minister was utterly heartless.

In desperation, the Pri Minister’s Wife blurted out: "Even if I were to go, our daughter would not agree to it."

Indeed, their daughter was the mother of a nation; how could she calmly watch her own mother suffer in the nunnery!

As soon as Pri Minister heard this, he beca furious: "As the saying goes, a married daughter is like water that’s been poured away; our family’s affairs are not for a married daughter to ddle in, not even if she is the Empress."

It seed Pri Minister had hardened his heart and was determined to send his wife to the nunnery.

The Pri Minister’s Wife collapsed to the floor, muttering to herself: "Mad. You’ve truly gone mad."

"It’s you and our daughter who’ve driven to madness; don’t bla for being ruthless."

After venting his frustrations, Pri Minister left with a sweep of his sleeves.

"Pri Minister, Pri Minister, you can’t let off this murderer so easily," Nineteenth Aunt cried and howled at Pri Minister’s retreating figure.

Regrettably, with a swift turn, the figure of the Pri Minister disappeared at the doorway.
