Xuexue’s words were an utter humiliation for Miss Zhang, who had always lived a sheltered life.

Xuexue nodded and said, "I’ll leave this matter entirely to you. Don’t co asking again." With that, she walked briskly into Qingyuo Pavilion without pausing for a mont.
"Understood."
Zi Xia replied automatically, then stood where she was, waiting for Miss Zhang and her servant to catch up.
Soon, Miss Zhang and her servant ca running, panting heavily, and asked between breaths, "Whe...where is the eldest young lady?"
"The eldest young lady told both of you to follow ."
"Huh?"
Miss Zhang looked visibly stunned. "Wasn’t I supposed to follow the eldest young lady? Why am I following you now?"
Zi Xia rolled her eyes and replied snarkily, "Do you know how to serve people?"
"No."
"Then why would you follow the eldest young lady?"
"But...the eldest young lady clearly promised my father and mother that I could follow her."
"Following her isn’t ant to be free of responsibility. You’ll have to work, won’t you?"
"I suppose." Miss Zhang nodded blankly.
"If that’s the case, then hurry along. The eldest young lady has other matters to attend to later!"
Zi Xia led them to an embroidery room where two embroideresses were already working.
This embroidery room specialized in producing embroidered goods for the General’s Mansion. Typically, these were worn by the mansion’s masters, though any surplus was sold outside for profit. Having more embroideresses was never a waste, as it generated silver for the household.
The two embroideresses stopped their work upon noticing newcors, looking up in slight astonishnt.
The embroidery room, usually staffed only by the two of them, had visitors today, which piqued their curiosity.

"From now on, they’ll work here alongside you. Look out for one another."

The two embroideresses responded coolly, realizing that the newcors were simply maids. At first, seeing one of the young won’s striking appearance, they had mistakenly thought she might be a wealthy family’s daughter. Turns out, after all that, she was just like them—rely another servant.
