A familiar scent wafted in with the breeze.
Xuexue didn’t even need to look to know it was Long Rui.
Over these past days, this guy had been showing up for clandestine visits at midnight every now and then. She’d gotten used to it.
Without lifting her eyes, Xuexue said lightly, "The whole Capital is spreading rumors about how you’re on the brink of collapse, yet here you are, wandering around my place in the dead of night instead of sleeping."
The people of the Capital were in panic, saying the War Prince was about to die, and their personal safety would be at risk. They’d all rushed to the City God Temple to pray, hoping he could weather the storm.
Yet this guy seed perfectly fine—the epito of energy—and was out roaming in the middle of the night. Not a single hint of weakness, not even a shadow of it. He wasn’t worried about running into acquaintances and scaring them half to death.
"I missed you, so I ca." In the darkness, Long Rui stepped to the bedside and sat down.
Xuexue wasn’t fazed. This guy had often slept in the sa room as her back in the Mo Family Village. They’d even shared the sa bed. There was nothing surprising about it.
Though, they certainly weren’t living shalessly like husband and wife as the villagers gossiped.
They rely lay there talking, that was all.
Of course, nobody would believe that if it got out.
Xuexue set aside the book in her hands. "It’s been ages since we’ve practiced martial arts together. How about heading to the mystic space for a session?"
"Sure!"
With one sweep of his long arms, Long Rui scooped Xuexue off the bed.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Xuexue, taken by surprise and without the slightest ntal preparation, let out a startled yelp.
Holding the beauty in his arms, Long Rui felt thoroughly exhilarated. His tone was brimming with amusent: "Didn’t you say you wanted to enter the mystic space and spar with ? We’re going together."
Before he finished his sentence, the shadows of the two people had already disappeared from the room.
Inside the mystic space.
Xiao Taohong and Little Tiger were frolicking among the flowers.
Suddenly, they noticed Long Rui and Xuexue arriving.
Xiao Taohong imdiately covered his eyes dramatically and said mockingly, "Oh my! How shaless, Xuexue hugging a man like that!"
Little Tiger glanced at him. "What’s so surprising about a man and woman in love?"
Xiao Taohong muttered skeptically, "You sure sound like you know a lot about this stuff."
"Of course! I’m a Divine Beast that’s lived for a thousand years. There’s no desire or emotion I haven’t seen."
"Have you ever experienced it yourself?"
"I’ve transcended all desires and emotions."
"Why don’t you admit the girls rejected you because you’re an animal?"
"What nonsense are you spouting! Want to smack you?" Little Tiger instantly bristled at the remark.
"Go ahead!" Xiao Taohong showed no fear, continuing to provoke him.
The two of them bickered and quarreled, leaving Long Rui and Xuexue completely out of their minds.
As Long Rui gently set Xuexue down on the ground, he chuckled aloud, "The space feels much livelier with those two as our codic duo."
Back when he was living in the Mo Family Village, Little Tiger hadn’t yet taken human form, let alone entered the mystic space.
Things were different now; the two of them were having a blast in the space.
Though they squabbled all the ti, they’d always have each other’s backs in critical monts.
With Little Tiger’s companionship, Xiao Taohong wouldn’t have to feel lonely anymore.
Xuexue smiled as well. "Exactly! Don’t be fooled by Xiao Taohong’s sharp tongue. Deep down, he cares a lot about Little Tiger."
"That’s obvious. They’re a pair of bickering soulmates."
The space was vast and expansive.
The two of them picked an open field and started practicing martial arts against each other.
Xiao Taohong and Little Tiger, who had been squabbling just monts ago, suddenly stopped as if by tacit agreent. They stared in unison at the figures of Xuexue and Long Rui sparring.
