Long Rui weakly pointed at Xuexue’s back: "Xuexue."
Situ Yongjie had no choice but to call Xuexue to stay.
Unexpectedly, Long Rui weakly added: "General Situ, you can leave now. Miss Situ is enough."
Though Situ Yongjie was unwilling to leave Xuexue alone in the room, he dared not disobey the Prince’s orders. Reluctantly, he stepped out.
Xuexue knew Long Rui was pretending to be sick. She walked over to the bedside and twisted his arm harshly: "Pretending? You’re still pretending!"
Long Rui instantly sat up from the bed: "My dear wife, I..."
Xuexue: "No way."
Long Rui chuckled: "I haven’t even said anything yet. How can you be so sure it’s ’no way’?"
Xuexue: "Looking at you, it’s definitely not sothing good."
Long Rui: "My dear wife is truly clever, seeing through all my thoughts like this. You’re definitely the woman I adore."
Xuexue: "Don’t flatter yourself. Go away."
Long Rui: "I refuse to. I’m sticking to you for the rest of my life."
Xuexue: "You need to rest. I’m exhausted. Buzz off."
Long Rui: "Nope."
Xuexue: "I’ll say it again: Move away."
Long Rui: "Nope! Nope, not happening."
Xuexue, now feeling a bit annoyed, sohow mustered unexpected strength in her irritation. She kicked Long Rui off the bed with one blow: "Move already!"
"Bang!"
"Ouch!"
A loud noise echoed from the room, alarming Long Yi outside. Long Yi imdiately knocked on the door and called out loudly, "Prince! Prince! Are you alright?"
The noble War Prince, kicked off the bed by a woman—how utterly embarrassing!
"I’m fine. Just accidentally knocked sothing over." Lying on the floor, Long Rui quickly responded, completely forgetting he was supposed to be a gravely ill patient. His voice rang out robustly.
He was terrified that Long Yi might suddenly lose control and barge in, witnessing his embarrassing plight.
Knowing full well that the War Prince and Xuexue were in the room, Long Yi wouldn’t be foolish enough to barge in. He rely urged, "Prince, please be careful."
Long Rui raised his voice: "Got it! So naggy."
And with that, he managed to deal with Long Yi.
Long Rui climbed off the floor with a gloomy expression and strode toward Xuexue on the bed...
Xuexue could hardly believe it: In her panic, she had actually managed to kick Long Rui off the bed! Her mood took an imdiate downturn as guilt crept in. But before she could process it, she saw Long Rui approaching her with a darkened expression.
She instantly began to stamr: "You... you... what... what are you planning to do?"
Long Rui said nothing, slowly closing in on her, his tone dangerously low: "What do you think?"
Xuexue: "I... I... how... would I know! I... I didn’t do it on purpose."
Long Rui: "You struck your husband. So, how do you think I should punish you?"
Xuexue flashed a fawning smile: "Let’s just skip the punishnt. I promise to be very good from now on."
Long Rui found this amusing but kept his face stern: "Oh, aren’t you dreaming big?"
Xuexue, now looking pitiful: "What do you intend to do, then?"
Long Rui: "Take a guess."
Xuexue puckered her lips angrily: "Not guessing."
Long Rui: "Oh dear! You’ve hit soone and now you’re angry too?"
At this serendipitous mont, a knock ca from the door.
"Knock knock knock...!"
"Prince, it’s ti to take your dicine." Long Yi was lanting his own predicant; his Master was busy cultivating feelings with Miss He, yet he had to play the role of the evildoer.
This was the Shichen Chinese Ti for the Prince’s dication every day. Besides, in the War Prince’s Mansion, it was unclear how many of the staff were covert spies for the Emperor. Thus, even at the risk of punishnt from his Master, Long Yi had no choice but to play his unwelco role.
The knock ca at the perfect mont. Xuexue seized the opportunity to shove Long Rui, quickly standing up.
Long Rui muttered a low curse: "Damn you, Long Yi."
Rarely had Xuexue shown him such gentle, remorseful affection, only for it to be spoiled by Long Yi’s interruption. Long Rui was decidedly displeased and silently added Long Yi to his personal grudge list.
