"No."
Doctor Wang kept pressing on this topic.
The maid grew suspicious in her heart; what on earth was Doctor Wang guilty of? Why did he keep asking if anyone had co to the General’s Mansion as a guest?
"Doctor Wang, what exactly do you want to ask?"
"Nothing, just asking casually, let’s hurry, Auntie Tang is getting impatient." With that, Doctor Wang took the lead and walked out.
Couple’s Courtyard.
Auntie Tang paced irritably in the room, occasionally craning her neck to look outside, thinking, damn Doctor Wang, where has he been these days? He’s nowhere to be found no matter how hard I look.
After all, they’ve been well acquainted for over ten years, and now he’s suddenly a missing person; she’s quite worried about him.
Plus, Situ Yongjie hadn’t touched her in a long ti, and these days, she was irritated and a bit unfulfilled, feeling like she was about to explode.
Just when she was going to find Doctor Wang to solve the problem, he disappeared.
This feeling was really bad, and despite the need for discretion, Auntie Tang frantically looked for him everywhere but he simply vanished without a trace.
Having just heard he’d returned to the mansion, the anxious Auntie Tang imdiately sent a maid to invite him over.
It seed like an eternity.
Finally, she saw the maid bringing in the disheveled Doctor Wang.
"Oh my! What happened to you?" Auntie Tang was startled by Doctor Wang’s downcast appearance and quickly stepped forward to take a closer look.
There were several maids watching in the room.
Doctor Wang reacted quickly, swiftly stepping aside to successfully avoid Auntie Tang’s hand. Additionally, he quickly glanced at the nearby maid, reminding Auntie Tang to be mindful of her behavior in front of so many eyes.
After all, the Great General Situ was right here in the mansion.
If he found out I slept with his woman, it would be surprising if I didn’t lose my head.
"Uh!"
Auntie Tang’s hand froze mid-air, and the atmosphere turned awkward. Following Doctor Wang’s glance, she rembered that the servants were watching!
"Ahem...! You dead girls, why aren’t you fetching refreshnts for Doctor Wang, standing there for what?" Auntie Tang said angrily, a bit embarrassed.
The undertone between them wasn’t unnoticed by the maids who, realizing the situation, imdiately turned and ran out upon hearing Auntie Tang’s order.
They knew all too well that knowing too much about the master’s affairs ant a quicker death.
As they ran out, they thoughtfully closed the door behind them.
Only the two were left in the room.
Auntie Tang gazed at Doctor Wang intently, her voice extrely gentle: "Where have you been these days? You disappeared without a word, didn’t you know I was very worried about you."
"There was sothing at ho that I needed to go back and handle."
"Don’t lie to , you’ve been at the General’s Mansion for over ten years, never heard about you having a family." Auntie Tang clearly didn’t believe Doctor Wang’s explanation.
Many years ago, Prince Pu t the destitute Doctor Wang on the street and, out of the softness of his heart, brought him to the Prince Pu’s Mansion. Later, when Auntie Tang got married, being rely a concubine, Prince Pu, to help elevate his daughter, assigned him to Auntie Tang as a think tank.
And it indeed worked a little at the beginning.
Lady Li’s short life was largely thanks to Doctor Wang’s contributions.
Back then, when Lady Li was pregnant, all her al plans were handled by Doctor Wang.
The knowledge within those al plans was vast; they could turn a healthy person unhealthy, let alone a pregnant woman.
Due to Doctor Wang’s arrangents, Lady Li’s health beca increasingly feeble as she ate.
During childbirth, just as expected, the anemic Lady Li suffered massive bleeding and finally t her end.
Outsiders couldn’t see anything unusual.
So, over the years, no matter how hard Situ Yongjie tried to investigate, he couldn’t find anything.
"I really have a family, Auntie Tang wasn’t aware." Faced with Auntie Tang moving closer, Doctor Wang almost retreated against the wall, feeling the warm breath on his face, his whole body almost lted.
