This is an ordinary farmhouse courtyard, with outer walls fenced with bamboo. There’s a large pagoda tree in the middle of the yard, the kitchen is on the side, and further in is the main hall, with side rooms inside.
Although the house is quite ordinary, even a little shabby, it does win in terms of space; tonight, they can each have a room to themselves and have a comfortable sleep.
"Oh my! Everyone is saying that a pretty young lady has co to our village. Old Lady Xie ca to have a look, oh my, she is really lovely and lively."
A woman’s very enthusiastic voice ca from the door.
Xuexue looked up, not knowing when an old lady had arrived at the entrance. She looked about fifty, simply wearing her hair in a bun and dressed in hospun clothes, though washed to a fade, they were very clean.
"Who are you?" Xuexue asked, curiously observing her.
"I am Auntie Chen, the village head called to co over and tidy up your rooms." Auntie Chen ca in, carrying a basket of vegetables in her hand, with a smile all over her face and a very easygoing nature.
"Young lady, I just made these vegetable pancakes, they’re still warm! I brought them over for you to try, it’s country stuff, please don’t be put off!"
Saying this, she handed the basket to Xuexue.
Xuexue felt deeply moved, the villagers of Chen Family Village were really hospitable. They hadn’t been here long before a few villagers brought things over, even though they were not valuable items, they were still a token of their kindness.
"Thank you, Auntie."
"Oh my! Don’t ntion it, these are nothing valuable."
"Where are the young gentlen?"
The old lady had heard that several nobles had entered the village, and they were all exceptionally handso, clearly young masters and misses from wealthy families at first glance.

Xuexue laughed, "She is Auntie Chen, sent by the village head to help us tidy the house."
"So that’s it! But she should have told a maid like !" Being directly shooed out of the room left Zi Xia quite upset.
Xuexue smiled and said, "Don’t be so ungrateful, soone is helping you with your work and you’re not happy?"
"Hmph!"
"Calm down, co, have a pancake." Xuexue handed the basket to Zi Xia.
Zi Xia took the basket, and upon opening it, saw steaming hot pancakes, baked to a perfect golden-yellow, looking incredibly enticing.
"Where did this co from?" she asked with surprise, having been gnawing on dry rations all day, she was truly craving sothing different.
"From Auntie Chen!"
Zi Xia’s tone imdiately changed, "Auntie Chen is such a good person."
At this mont, the village head ca in, lifting a rabbit in one hand and carrying so vegetables in the other.
With nobles visiting the village, he specifically went to the ho of a hunter in a neighboring village to buy them, holding onto the belief that even if the village is poor, the guests must not be treated poorly so as not to sha Chen Family Village.
"Young lady, there’s not much to offer in our village, only these to entertain you, please don’t dislike it, okay?"
Xuexue knew that the village head was being polite, these items in a farr’s ho were extrely precious, only eaten during New Year’s or festivals.
Xuexue smiled and said, "Thank you, village head."
