Fourth Prince’s Mansion, at the main entrance.

That evening, right at alti, over a dozen carts filled to the brim with belongings arrived, completely blocking the entrance to the Fourth Prince’s mansion.

The guards at the gate quickly stepped forward to investigate, only to discover that it was the Pri Minister who had arrived. They hurriedly went inside to report to the Fourth Prince.

The events that took place at the Pri Minister’s residence that morning were already known to the Fourth Prince. Hearing that the Pri Minister had co, he didn’t take it to heart, glared at the servant, and said discontentedly, "Since grandfather has co, just invite the old man in. Why bother reporting it?"

"The Pri Minister, he..."

"What about him?"

"Fourth Prince, you should co to the entrance and have a look yourself!"

"Such a bother, you useless servants can’t handle a single small matter. What use are you?" The Fourth Prince stood up disgruntledly, grumbling as he walked outside.

The Fourth Prince hadn’t even reached the entrance yet when he saw the Pri Minister directing the servants, endlessly moving things inside.

"Grandfather, what are you doing?"

The Fourth Prince was dumbfounded by the Pri Minister’s actions—why was grandfather moving so many things in?

The Pri Minister, as if it was only natural, replied, "I’m moving things in!"

The Fourth Prince looked up at the servants moving items into the mansion and jokingly said, "I know you’re moving things, but why so much, grandfather? It’s like you’re moving house."

Servants busily shuttled back and forth, carting in the belongings, overwheld and flustered.

The Pri Minister said, "Xuanxuan, you’re so clever. Grandfather is indeed moving house here. For the ti being, I’ll live with you."

At midday, he had rushed back to the Pri Minister’s residence from the Imperial Palace, only to find a scene of ruins, leaving him stunned. When the servants described it at the palace, he had still harbored a bit of false hope, thinking that no matter how much destruction Long Rui caused to such a grand and opulent residence, it would be like a drop in the ocean, leaving the core unhard.

But who would have thought that damned Long Rui had even ripped off the roof. Now, the Pri Minister’s residence was uninhabitable; it would have to be rebuilt. Rebuilding a residence would cost so much silver! The Pri Minister seethed with anger and heartache.

He cursed Long Rui a thousand tis over his heart—this damned War Prince, in front of so many commoners, showed him no decency at all, going so far as to smash the residence of the reigning Pri Minister in such a manner. It was truly infuriating.

The steward quickly comforted him, "Pri Minister, if the residence is torn down, so be it. We can rebuild it."

"What are you saying? This is all about silver."

"Silver can be earned back, but once face is lost, it’s impossible to regain."

"You worthless servant, what do you an?"

"Pri Minister, think about it. This morning, the War Prince couldn’t find you in person and took it out on your residence. If you had been there, he might have had you strung up and beaten. That wouldn’t have looked good for you either."

The Pri Minister pondered and found it to be true. That damned Long Rui was bold and reckless, never considering the consequences. He might really have had the servants string him up and beat him. Where would he show his face then?

Oh well, if it’s torn down, it’s torn down! At most, rebuild it once more.

But now that the residence had been destroyed by Long Rui, where to live beca a problem too.

After much thought, the Pri Minister finally thought of the Fourth Prince. So he had the steward pack up the valuables from the residence, hired carts, and loaded over a dozen carts full of gold and silver jewelry.

Thus, the Pri Minister climbed into one of the carts, and a procession grandly made its way to the Fourth Prince’s mansion...
