At this mont, the steward ca out and said coldly, "The Old Madam is ill, and today she probably can’t send the Little Young Master. You’d better hurry to the manor. The General will be back soon from court. If he sees you still here, he will scold us servants."
Upon hearing this, the three siblings, Situ Dieer, were shocked. Their father usually cared for them deeply, so why the sudden decision to expel them from the mansion, with such disdain?
"You dog servant, what nonsense are you spewing! Father loves us dearly; how could he possibly not want to see us?" Situ Zhi couldn’t help but angrily curse at the steward.
The steward did not wish to continue the argunt, fearing it would disturb the Old Madam and disrupt the General’s plan. Thus, he instructed the nearby servants, "Quickly send the Young Master and Misses out to the manor and return before nightfall."
"Yes."
A few servants responded and reached out to push them out.
Although Situ Dieer wanted to understand what was happening, the situation didn’t allow for it at the mont. She decided to leave first and investigate slowly later why their father would treat them this way. She glared at the servants and sternly said, "Dare to touch us, and believe , I will chop off your hands."
Perhaps it was Situ Dieer’s intimidating deanor that made the servants retreat with caution.
After all, no matter how down on their luck, they were still the Master, far superior to these lowly servants. Angering Situ Dieer could indeed lead to their demise.
Situ Dieer grabbed Situ Zhi with her left hand and Situ Yu with her right, and the three siblings were thus unceremoniously expelled from the General’s Mansion.
After hours of bumpy travel, the carriage arrived at a remote manor on the outskirts.
This property also belonged to the General’s Mansion. Upon their arrival, a corpulent woman with a broad smile erged.
The servants explained their situation briefly and then left on the carriage.
Once the mansion’s servants departed, the woman’s face imdiately turned stern, and she gruffly said to them, "Our manor doesn’t keep idle people. No matter if you were Misses or Young Masters before, if you want to eat, you have to work. If you don’t work, just wait to starve."
Having just arrived here, unfamiliar with the place, Situ Dieer softly asked, "Auntie, where will we stay tonight?"
The woman glanced at them askance and, as if she hadn’t heard, muttered to herself, "The people sent over today are all skin and bones. How can they work? Truly botherso; who knows what the steward is thinking."
Under the eaves, one must bow their head; Situ Dieer again patiently asked, "Auntie, where will we stay tonight?"
The woman’s eyes widened impatiently, "Calling, calling, are you calling for spirits? With a manor this large, do you really think there’s no place for you to sleep? Really know nothing of manners."
After speaking, she stared fixedly at Situ Dieer and extended two fingers, moving them slightly.
Situ Dieer looked bewildered, asking, "Auntie, what do you an?"
Woman: "Silver?"
Situ Dieer: "What silver?"
Woman: "If you want to stay well, naturally you need silver."
The three siblings looked at each other: "We have no silver, what do we do then?"
They had been expelled from the General’s Mansion, and all their belongings were confiscated by the steward, leaving them without a single Copper Coin.
The woman said with irritation, "Don’t worry, there’s a way to live even without money. Auntie’s kind-hearted and won’t leave you without a place to stay."
Finally, she muttered quietly, "Yet another group of well-dressed beggars."
Situ Dieer felt a bit relieved in her heart; having a place to stay was most important. She feared that without silver, they wouldn’t have anywhere to stay.
The woman glared disdainfully at them and impatiently said, "Follow then."
