Lin Kong poured a cup of tea for Xuexue and said, "Miss, don’t be upset. In a mont, I’ll go and complain to the shopkeeper about this waiter’s behavior. It’s too unreasonable. How can they treat custors like this? Even if the shop is busy, they should attend to the custors before leaving. How can they just leave halfway through?"
Xuexue put down the nu in her hand and said lightly, "I’m not upset."
Zi Xia said, "Miss, how about I go and urge the waiter?"
Xuexue waved her hand and said, "No need, there’s nothing urgent anyway."
Lin Kong said, "Miss, you truly are a lady of great composure."
Xuexue said, "Young Master Zhao, you flatter . Dining out is about enjoying the mont. If the mood is spoiled, do you think I can still enjoy the al?"
Lin Kong agreed, "Miss Situ, you are absolutely right."
At this mont, footsteps could be heard from outside, and soon after, the door opened, and several waiters with trays walked in one by one...
Soon, the table was completely filled with dishes.
Xuexue was dumbfounded. They hadn’t even ordered yet! The speed they brought the dishes up was incredible. Could it be that they delivered to the wrong room?
So, Xuexue asked one of the waiters, "Young man, what’s going on? We haven’t ordered yet, so why are you serving us? Did you make a mistake?"
The waiter shook his head and said, "No mistake, it’s this room. The shopkeeper instructed us, and we’re just following orders."
The table was filled with a sumptuous feast, including Red Braised Pork, Vinegar Fish, Chestnut Chicken, Red Braised Lion’s Head atballs, Four Happiness atballs, Sauce-flavored Preserved Pork, Pine Nut Small Intestines, Mutton Hot Pot, Braised Winter Bamboo Shoots, Buddha Jumps over the Wall, Scallion Sea Cucumber, Bird’s Nest, and of course, Drunken Sky Building’s famous signature dish, a large Drunken Chicken.
Lin Kong frowned tightly and couldn’t help but ask, "Could this place be a swindling restaurant? How can you serve dishes to guests who haven’t even ordered anything yet?"
It’s not that he’s being stingy, but the key issue is that Lin Kong just rembered he didn’t have a cent on him. Earlier at the Celestial Master’s Mansion, the silver notes were all taken by Xuexue and handed over to Lady Zhang.
Lin Kong was red with anxiety, and Xuexue saw this. At this mont, she also rembered that all of Lin Kong’s silver had been given to Lady Zhang. Such a full table of dishes must cost quite a bit, and she needed to be careful that this guy didn’t dine and dash.
Xuexue quietly pulled on Zi Xia behind her.
Zi Xia, who spent a great deal of ti with her mistress, understood instantly and leaned forward imdiately.
Xuexue whispered a few words into her ear.
"Yes."
Zi Xia agreed softly and turned around to leave quietly.
As Lin Kong continued talking with the waiter, he didn’t notice what the mistress and maid were up to.
"Sir, if you have any concerns, you can relay them to the shopkeeper. We’re just following orders," said the waiter, before leaving with the other staff mbers.
"Oh dear, what kind of attitude is this?" Lin Kong looked very exasperated.
The main issue was he had no money, which made him nervous.
When he had money, the cost of a al wouldn’t matter to Lin Kong, but now without a cent to his na, he worried about facing the embarrassnt of not being able to pay later, especially with everyone in the Capital finding out that the master of the Fourth Prince ate for free at a restaurant.
Xuexue picked up her chopsticks and smiled, "Young Master Zhao, don’t be upset, anger is bad for health. This al looks quite good. Look, these dishes are the most expensive ones in the restaurant, each a signature dish. They’re bound to be delicious. Co, have a taste."
Then, Xuexue kindly picked up a piece of food with her chopsticks and placed it in Lin Kong’s bowl, smiling brightly, "Young Master Zhao, try it. It’s quite tasty."
