Zhang Chi’s face showed sarcasm: "Why act that nonsense, there’s no benefit to it? And what’s the agenda of these class teachers? It’s nothing but a show for the higher-ups. How can a school, a place for teaching and education, let such people who deceive and manipulate take over?"

He stood on the moral high ground, wildly ranting.

Yan Tianpeng said: "I heard quite a few students from the experintal class were selected this ti."

Zhang Chi imdiately mocked: "Haha, what do the bookworms from the experintal class know? Just wait to see them make a fool of themselves!"

Yan Tianpeng then brought up Young Master Qi from Fourth Middle School. Zhang Chi was jealous of his wealth and claid he must’ve hired a stand-in with money.

Born poor yet with a high opinion of himself, Zhang Chi was dissatisfied with everything in the world.

After Zhang Chi arrived at Class 8’s classroom, he saw Guo Kunnan and Cao Kun discussing the New Year’s Eve party and launched into another round of criticism.

"Oh right, the class teacher said during morning self-study that today they’re handing out the party entry tickets. I caught wind of a little rumor that the entry tickets are particularly interesting: so allow you to have a buffet, so can waive one morning or evening self-study session, and others can be used for the party’s lottery draw. I heard the prizes include Mu Changqing products."

Zhang Chi breathed heavily. A lottery, his Heavenly Destiny Skill!

He hurriedly asked: "Really?"

Dan Kaiquan said: "It’s out on the forum, you tell is it real? It must be true."

Cao Kun said: "I also heard a rumor that these entry tickets will first be offered to students participating in performances to pick their ticket format."

Guo Kunnan was surprised: "Wouldn’t it be cool to be in the performance?"

Zhang Chi sneered: "What are you thinking? The school wouldn’t be that inhumane."

Cao Kun: "Maybe it’s also based on grades?"

Dan Kaiquan: "It’s possible they first let students with good grades who are also in the performance choose."

Thinking about it, they looked at Jiang Ning’s empty seat, their expressions spoke volus.

Just this morning, Zhang Chi saw Jiang Ning having breakfast with a girl, and he had criticized Jiang Ning with Yan Tianpeng, feeling a certain psychological superiority.

Zhang Chi’s facial expression shifted, and after a mont, he burst out laughing.

He stated with utmost certainty: "I admit he’s a good student and even participated in the New Year performance, but saying he’ll get to pick the tickets first is ridiculous, right? Does being a good student grant you privileges?"

"Let tell you, no way! If Jiang Ning really does that, just see how many people will be unhappy!"

...

"Brother Ning! My Brother Ning! Can you spare a lottery ticket?" Zhang Chi put on a fawning smile, his body bent, and with both hands under his chin, his expression full of flattery.

It wasn’t just him; the area with the four seats was packed with students waiting for tickets.

Today, Shan Qingrong ca to the class to distribute tickets. As usual, he first inquired about Xue Yuantong’s life, and then the stack of tickets in his hand was taken by Xue Yuantong.

She didn’t bother distributing the tickets, so the task naturally fell to Jiang Ning.

When it ca to distributing the tickets, Jiang Ning held absolute authority and suddenly beca the master of Class 8.

At this mont, Jiang Ning leaned back in a chair, which was borrowed from Shan Qingrong for Xue Yuantong, temporarily borrowed by Jiang Ning.

Upon hearing Zhang Chi’s words, Jiang Ning took out a ticket with a lottery function, and gently swung it between his fingers.

Zhang Chi’s smile grew even more sycophantic, hurriedly shouting: "Brother Ning! Give a lottery ticket!"

That was a ticket that might win a Mu Changqing product! If he could get his hands on it and resell it, he could sell it for at least 1600 yuan!

That would be enough for him to live it up for half a month!

Jiang Ning slightly raised his eyes, and a playful smirk appeared on his lips: "Zhang Chi, I heard rumors today that you said in class that I, Jiang Ning, have no privilege?"

Zhang Chi’s face changed dramatically, and he imdiately retorted: "It wasn’t who said it; if I did, I’d be a dog!"

Outside the crowd, Dan Kaiquan and the others cursed under their breath: "This bastard is really shaless!"

Seeing Jiang Ning showing signs of taking back the lottery ticket, Zhang Chi hurriedly promised: "Brother Ning, I swear it wasn’t , it really wasn’t !"

His deanor was almost pleading.

Jiang Ning nodded indifferently: "Alright, just don’t let hear about this again, or next ti, such matters won’t involve you."

After speaking, Jiang Ning flicked the ticket with his fingers, tossing it directly on the ground.

Zhang Chi imdiately bent down to pick it up, expressed his gratitude very respectfully, and then ran out of the crowd with the lottery ticket to boast to Yan Tianpeng from the neighboring class.

...

Night.

Today Jiang Ning was at ho.

Xue Chuchu and Tongtong played a ga, just a Gold Rank ga.

Tongtong let her play casually, but Chuchu played very seriously; however, in the early stages, she couldn’t establish an advantage.

Xue Chuchu was a bit worried and asked Tongtong if they should team up against the enemy.

Xue Yuantong still told her to just play casually.

Then after a while, sohow, Tongtong’s character developed particularly well and completely crushed the opponent.

Xue Chuchu found the ga very intriguing and wanted to start another one, but Hua Fengi ca to Jiang Ning’s house and called Chuchu ho.

After Chuchu left, Jiang Ning said gloatingly: "Hua Fengi seed a bit annoyed."

Tongtong always playing gas with others, probably no parent on earth would take kindly to that.

Xue Yuantong didn’t care: "It’s not like it’s the first or second ti."

She wasn’t oblivious to others’ expressions, but often chose to play dumb.

Tongtong knew that truly happy days were very few and far between, and if playing dumb could extend those happy days a bit longer, she would rather play dumb.

So when she was little, she pretended not to understand Hua Fengi’s expressions and happily hung out with Chuchu every day.

After playing another ga, Xue Yuantong guessed Chuchu might be alone now, so she sent Chuchu a ssage:

"There?"

Chuchu didn’t reply.

Tongtong: "Want so food?"

Still no reply.

"Not falling for it, huh?" Xue Yuantong thought, considering that after her repeated tricks, Chuchu’s alertness had heightened and she was harder to fool.

She hopped off her throne, ran to the main room to find the fridge, took out the mango mini-cakes that Jiang Ning had hidden and snapped a photo with her phone, ensuring it looked appetizing enough.

She then sent it to Chuchu: "Wanna eat?"

Chuchu quickly replied: "I can’t go out for now."

Jiang Ning saw Tongtong grinning slyly: "Let’s video call, you can watch eat."

Xue Chuchu really wanted to refuse, but for so reason, she agreed.

Then the video connected successfully.

In the video screen, Chuchu sat on the bed, wrapped in a blanket, reading a book.

She was using a laptop to make the video call, Jiang Ning’s laptop, as she had been using it to study and create PPT presentations lately, which Jiang Ning generously allowed her to use.

Xue Yuantong ate the cake for Chuchu to see and even played a ga for her to watch, achieving an online spectating effect.

Before finishing halfway, Aunt Gu ca to catch her, and Xue Yuantong only had ti to quickly tell Chuchu a sentence to hang up the video call before scrambling away.

When Tongtong hung up, Xue Chuchu mouthed a smile, she didn’t play on the computer anymore and instead read an English book on the bed.

In the cozy bedroom, the lamp emitted a soft, bright light, and the girl’s hair cascaded like a waterfall, gently swaying with her breathing, as she cradled the book, her cool face wrapped in a layer of softness, watching quietly as if ti itself had stopped.

After a long while, perhaps tired of reading, she reached out her thin, porcelain-like fingers to gently fiddle with a chanical eagle on the bedside.

This was an eagle made of matchsticks, handcrafted by Jiang Ning, later passed to Chuchu by Tongtong.

The eagle was much like the ’Balancing Eagle’ toy from childhood, its beak perched on the headboard, the rest of its body suspended as if soaring.

As she played with Jiang Ning’s big bird, Xue Chuchu thought of sothing funny, suddenly smiling, and her joyful laugh gently resonated in the small room.

In the next mont, she wiped her mouth, collected so of her laughter, placed the book back, and prepared to sleep.

Xue Chuchu was just about to close the laptop when she noticed, for the first ti, a pair of bright eyes in the bottom right corner of the screen staring at her.

As she clearly saw the owner of those eyes, Xue Chuchu’s smile suddenly froze.

From the laptop speakers ca Jiang Ning’s clear voice: "Chuchu, why are you laughing for no reason?"
