Chapter 323: Chapter 254: The Picnic Ends, Classmates Gather Chapter 323: Chapter 254: The Picnic Ends, Classmates Gather Geng Lu was about to et Jiang Ning, so she went inside the tent to get things organized:

“Qing Tang, I’ll take a few bags of snacks from you.”

He Qingtang felt helpless. It was just a eting, and she was already offering snacks to Jiang Ning?

Having no choice, He Qingtang said in support of her best friend:

“Take more if you like, and bring along the green grapes I bought.”

“I’ll take half,” Geng Lu said.

After packing the snacks, she picked up the bag and walked towards the place where smoke was rising by the riverbank.

Ye ngchen was determined to get along with the two and add them on WeChat, hoping it might lead to a relationship in the future.

They were all old classmates, so there was a chance.

Geng Lu was eager to see Jiang Ning sooner and quickened her pace. A few minutes later, she arrived at the bank of the river.

But when she got there, she found that besides Xue Yuantong, there was another girl.

Her gaze settled on Xue Chuchu seated on the little stool, taking in the girl with a ponytail, casually dressed in a white jacket and light blue jeans.

But the extrely beautiful face paired with a sowhat cold temperant made her stand out strikingly.

Seated on the small stool with her legs together, she emanated a dignified air.

Based purely on appearance, from Geng Lu’s perspective, the card-playing girl was even more appealing than Bai Yuxia.

‘What’s her relation to Jiang Ning?’ Geng Lu couldn’t help but speculate.

“Geng Lu, you’re here,” Xue Yuantong greeted proactively.

Geng Lu replied, “Yeah yeah, I ca for a picnic with my junior high classmates.”

“Take a seat. Our at is almost ready. Do you sll the aroma?” Xue Yuantong asked. Today’s braised rabbit was especially fragrant.

It was much more delectable than the stir-fried rabbit her mother used to make; Xue Yuantong was craving it fiercely.

She almost wished she could swallow the whole pot!

It was strange, could it be that her cooking skills had improved so much compared to her mother’s?

“Of course, we slt it halfway here!” Geng Lu barely resisted the urge to salivate.

They had no idea what Jiang Ning was preparing, but the intensity of the aroma was astounding.

On their way over, they heard many picnic-goers expressing their amazent.

He Qingtang wholeheartedly agreed on the side.

Ye ngchen, who had co along, turned to Jiang Ning and inquired:

“Bro, what are you guys cooking?”

Xue Yuantong replied, “at.”

“Oh, can I buy so? I’ll pay,” Ye ngchen said.

Xue Yuantong: “Sorry, this is for our own consumption.”

After hearing this, Jiang Ning channeled a wave of Mana to contain the scent so it wouldn’t spread further; otherwise, there might be more people like Ye ngchen coming over with questions.

The rabbits he had caught, although not Spiritual Beasts, had been nourished by Spiritual Energy, which held an imnse allure for food enthusiasts.

If it had been adults asking, that would have been easier to handle—a straightforward rejection would suffice—but with children, it would be more troubleso.

“Later on, I’ll treat you to so at,” Xue Yuantong generously said.

She wasn’t stingy with a classmate like Geng Lu, who often bought drinks and snacks for her and Jiang Ning back in class.

When it ca to snack contributions, Teacher Guo Ran was currently at the top, followed by Geng Lu.

As for Jiang Ning, he permanently occupied the number one spot.

Geng Lu really wanted to refuse, but there aren’t many girls who aren’t greedy for food. Out of consideration for her face, she hesitated.

Jiang Ning broke down her last defense:

“Stay with your sisters, we’ve made plenty.”

A dozen pounds of rabbit, with plenty of at alone; the pot still contained lots of side dishes, more than enough food to go around.

Once Jiang Ning spoke up, Geng Lu naturally didn’t refuse.

He Qingtang, hearing her na included, made no pretense of hesitation. It was a good opportunity to observe Jiang Ning while eating—for as the saying goes, one’s true character cos out at the dining table. She didn’t want Geng Lu to get hurt by running into a bad person.

He Qingtang was a straightforward person herself. She turned to Ye ngchen and said crisply:

“Ye, could you please tell the others that we’ll grab sothing to eat at noon and then head over? It won’t delay our afternoon activities, thanks.”

“After it’s over, I’ll treat you to a drink.”

Upon hearing this, Ye ngchen felt like an outsider, completely out of place.

He looked at the girl sitting on the small stool, struck by her beauty—she was two levels above Geng Lu and the others!

But since they didn’t invite him to stay, he had no face to make excuses to linger. He had countless thoughts but eventually said:

“Then, I’ll be going.”

Leaving that behind, Ye ngchen turned and left.

Geng Lu and He Qingtang were not difficult to get along with; after a few words, they gradually ward up to each other.

The branches burned, and the flas roasted the iron pot.

“Jiang Ning, Jiang Ning, co pour water; I’ll stick the pancakes.”

Xue Yuantong carried a basin with flour in it, and Jiang Ning poured water into it.

Then Xue Yuantong washed her hands and began to knead the dough.

Jiang Ning lifted the pot lid, steam rose, followed by even richer aromas, Xue Chuchu looked through the mist to see the cooking at in the pot.

“What are you cooking? I’ve never slt this aroma before.” He Qingtang asked.

“Rabbits caught by Jiang Ning, they’re really fat,” Xue Yuantong said.

He Qingtang: “It’s actually rabbit at.”

As they talked, Xue Yuantong shaped the dough into pancakes and began to stick them to the inside of the pot.

Jiang Ning offered, “Let do it.”

After all, the pot was quite hot, and if Xue Yuantong got a blister, he would probably have to treat it.

Nonetheless, treatnt didn’t seem like a bad idea.

But before he could withdraw his offer, Xue Yuantong, having heard him, generosly said:

“I originally wanted to perform my years of hard-trained Iron Sand Palm, but since you want to take the lead, I’ll give you the chance, as you know, I’m not the type to seek attention.”

She quickly placed the pancake in Jiang Ning’s palm, afraid he might change his mind.

Jiang Ning casually stuck the pancake to the pot; the high temperature of which might startle Xue Yuantong but couldn’t harm him at all.
