Chapter 608: Chapter 384: Likes Walking Backwards
Tuesday morning, during the long break.
Wang Longlong, Ma Shicheng, Guo Kunnan, Hu Jun, and the others were eating in the cafeteria.
In the hall, with its ceiling seven or eight ters high, fans whirred, sending bursts of cool air that dispersed the heat.
Beside the long table, Ma Shicheng’s hair fluttered in the breeze as he twirled his al card, which could no longer be used in the future.
In the coming days, the Fourth Middle School Cafeteria would implent an eight-person table system and would no longer sell als individually. If one wanted to eat in the cafeteria, they had to be part of this new system.
Wang Longlong took a couple of sips of oily tea and sighed, “We won’t be able to drink oily tea like this anymore.”
Cui Yu announced, “A new era is upon us!”
Guo Kunnan excitedly proclaid, “The era of the big dining table is here!”
Their words instantly dispelled the nostalgic atmosphere.
Guo Kunnan pointed at the students queuing up to pay, “It looks like a lot of students are participating in the small table arrangent!”
He ignored the boys queuing at the counter, focusing instead on the pretty girls, thinking about the possible future of dining together, and filled Guo Kunnan’s life with hope.
He envisioned, “Brother Quan, not just first-year students this ti, but also second-year upperclasswon.”
Dan Kaiquan stated, “Both first and second years are participating.”
Cui Yu wondered, “What about the third years?”
Wang Longlong replied, “The third years are busy with college entrance exams, they don’t have ti.”
Cui Yu corrected, “Brother Long, you don’t understand. I’m talking about the third-year repeaters. So have to take the college entrance exams again, but so are already repeating.”
Wang Longlong retorted, “The repeater classes haven’t even started yet.”
While the two bickered, Guo Kunnan suddenly asked, “What do you think, how are the tables arranged? Can we all get seated together?”
Although his brotherly bonds were strong, given a choice, Guo Kunnan would still rather eat with pretty girls.
Brothers, after all, are ant to be sold out.
Wang Longlong put down his chopsticks and explained, “As far as I know, they arrange it first within the class. I heard that the school aims to prevent any shortage of food at a table, so they require an equal number of male and female students at each table.”
Hearing this, Guo Kunnan almost couldn’t hold his chopsticks steady, and he thought to himself:
‘Principal Yu, Director Yan, I was blind before, I will never curse you in my heart again.’
“What if it’s not sorted well inside the class, like so people left out?” Guo Kunnan asked further.
Wang Longlong answered, “Then they’d arrange it with students from neighboring classes, like us from Class 8 would be arranged with Class 7 and Class 9.”
Guo Kunnan first thought back to Class 7 and instantly recalled the captivating scene of Tang Fu with her long legs leaping through the air in the long jump competition.
That leap, not only landed her in the sandpit but also in the hearts of countless boys at Fourth Middle School.
He also rembered another girl with long hair, neither too tall nor too short, neither too fat nor too skinny, with plain traditional looks but paradoxically pretty.
After all, as beautiful as the girls in his class were, Guo Kunnan felt girls from other classes were pretty attractive too.
After reviewing the standout girls in Class 7, Guo Kunnan pondered about Class 9 and asked his buddies, “By the way guys, are there any pretty girls in Class 9?”
Cui Yu replied, “Not really.”
Comparatively, the overall attractiveness of the girls in Class 9 was not high.
Wang Longlong ntioned, “There’s one called Tan iling, she’s the prettiest in their class.”
Cui Yu comnted, “Her na sounds so plain, doesn’t seem pretty based on her na alone.”
In the middle of the conversation, a pretty girl walked into the cafeteria.
She was all made up and fashionably dressed, her flashy body-hugging top slightly short, revealing a bit of her slender waist, and her wide-legged denim shorts were belted, the silver loop clearly visible.
Wang Longlong identified her, “That’s Tan iling from Class 9.”
Guo Kunnan exclaid, “Damn, she’s beautiful. How co I never noticed her before?”
Dan Kaiquan, not fond of such attire and skeptical about her character, remarked, “Give up, Brother Nan, she looks too wild for you to handle.”
Cui Yu laughed, “Hilarious, as if Brother Nan could handle even the not-so-wild ones!”
Guo Kunnan’s face darkened even more.
He then proposed a feasible question, “You guys think the order of paynt affects the chances of being assigned to a dining table together?”
Wang Longlong pondered, “I think it might.”
With that ambiguous response, Guo Kunnan quickly finished his doughnut in a couple of bites and gulped down the rest of his oily tea, “Guys, I’m off to pay, wait for .”
Saying so, Guo Kunnan with a mischievous heart but no guts, followed Tan iling.
From a distance, he dared to glance at her waist, but as he approached closer, he acted all noble and upright.
The remaining group, including Cui Yu, were speechless, finding it ridiculously sleazy!
After a while, Guo Kunnan finished paying and wobbly returned while Dan Kaiquan and the others had finished eating.
“Brothers, let’s head back!” he called out.
Dan Kaiquan and Cui Yu followed him. After Tan iling finished paying, she also started walking back. They were all students from Building 3, so it was the sa route.
The guys walked alongside Tan iling, Ma Shicheng playing with his phone, Wang Longlong keeping a lookout to evade the school guards.
Dan Kaiquan, with a serious look, occasionally glanced at the sleazy yet serious Guo Kunnan and the shaless Cui Yu, resignedly smiling and shaking his head, unwilling to associate further.
Guo Kunnan and Cui Yu, walking down the road, sneakily ogled at Tan iling’s slender waist.
As a beautiful girl, Tan iling had long noticed others looking at her; during her trip to make the paynt, she caught the eyes of many boys watching her – if not a hundred, at least fifty.
Such attention, sothing many ordinary guys couldn’t experience in a lifeti, was commonplace for Tan iling, and she relished it. Otherwise, she wouldn’t deliberately show off her waist, knowing full well the pressures of wearing such clothes in high school.
