Chapter 722: Chapter 437: The First Ti Taking a Train
Xue Yuantong heard the familiar voice, turned around, and recognized the classmate.
The girl had a head of thick, dark short hair that hung loosely, a handso face, and bright, lively eyes. She was dressed in loose sports clothes that conveyed a sense of boldness and ease.
“Yang Sheng, you’re here?” Xue Yuantong exclaid with delight.
She then turned to look at the girl beside Yang Sheng. Xue Yuantong had to slightly lift her head because the girl was very tall, only a bit shorter than Jiang Ning, wearing sports shorts.
Xue Yuantong found herself attracted to the girl’s dazzlingly white, long legs. She resisted the urge to look down at her own short legs, afraid she might feel ashad of herself.
“Tang Fu.” The only non-class 8 mber at the small dinner table.
Yang Sheng noticed Xue Yuantong’s confusion and explained with a smile, “Dong Qingfeng asked yesterday if I was coming to Tai City. Since there were a lot of people going, I agreed, and I wanted to try Lu Province’s barbecue again.”
Gathering people for a barbecue in Lu Province was usually not easy, but now that there were willing classmates, Yang Sheng certainly didn’t want to miss out, as she quite enjoyed traveling around.
“This is Tang Fu, my badminton partner, you don’t need an introduction, right?” Yang Sheng said.
The only previous interaction she had with Tang Fu was at the sports et, in the long jump event, where Yang Sheng lost to her.
Back then, Tang Fu, as the sports committee mber of class 7, was assertive and stood out, commanding the situation.
After planning the small dinner table, Yang Sheng discovered Tang Fu’s true nature and thus started interacting with her.
Over the sumr, Yang Sheng had seen her on the social dia playing badminton, and after so back and forth, they beca badminton partners.
Now that Tang Fu planned to co to Lu Province, she brought her along.
Jiang Ning simply greeted everyone and went to get the tickets from the machine.
Yang Sheng ca over and asked, “Which car are you in?”
“Car number 9,” said Xue Yuantong, holding her ticket. She and Jiang Ning were in the sa car, in the lower bunk of the hard sleeper.
The train journey from Yuzhou to Tai City took 5 hours. If they had chosen hard seats, it would be tiring, so after so consideration, Jiang Ning opted for hard sleepers.
“I’m in car number 10,” said Yang Sheng. She and Tang Fu also bought hard sleeper tickets. Their families were not too wealthy but not too stingy either, so they didn’t skimp on the fare.
“It seems we can’t be together then.”
Yang Sheng picked up her backpack, “Dong Qingfeng and the others are on the sa train, let’s go wait in the waiting hall.”
Xue Yuantong followed Jiang Ning, went through ticket checking, luggage scanning, and entered the second-floor waiting hall. She had never been there before and found it quite fascinating.
Jiang Ning, familiar with the routine, led her into their designated waiting room.
The train departure ti was at 10:40, and now it was 9:30, still over an hour to go.
Before long, Dong Qingfeng and his group appeared grandly.
Xue Yuantong looked around and saw many classmates: Dong Qingfeng, Huang Zhongfei, Dan Kaiquan, Guo Kunnan, Yu Wen, Jiang Yanan.
Upon seeing Yang Sheng and Tang Fu, Dong Qingfeng hurried over with a beaming smile, “Everyone’s here!”
Guo Kunnan greeted Jiang Ning and others, then found a spot with his good brother Kaiquan. Climbing the mountain this ti was purely for relaxation.
Throughout this year, he had fought for love many tis and been hurt just as much. Guo Kunnan decided to climb the mountain to cleanse his spirit, nd his Dao Heart, and return to his carefree self.
Yang Sheng was surprised, “Class rep, why are you here?”
Jiang Yanan: “The class rep is here to guide us.”
She wanted a lifeti of happiness for her good sister Yu Wen, so she deliberately played the naive little white rabbit, hoping the class rep would help them. As expected, she managed to bring him along.
Dong Qingfeng checked their tickets; they all had hard seats. If Dong Qingfeng traveled alone, he would definitely go for a soft sleeper.
But to be with Yang Sheng, Tang Fu, and Jiang Yanan, he had to go for the hard seats, only to find out later that Yang Sheng had bought her tickets in advance.
Dan Kaiquan and Guo Kunnan had hard seats. From Yuzhou to Taishan, a re five hours was nothing for energetic high school students; even 14 hours in a hard seat would be a breeze for them.
Mainly because a hard seat was cheap, costing just over 40 yuan.
Dong Qingfeng discussed with a few people, “Today is the 10th, and I checked the weather forecast, there’s rain expected on the 13th, so for the sunrise, we can only climb today or tomorrow.”
“If we climb during the day, we need to stay for a long ti on the summit of Taishan, and it’s cold. If it’s windy, it’s easy to get sick.”
Yu Wen: “Can’t we stay overnight?”
Dong Qingfeng shook his head, “Staying overnight on the mountain is too expensive. It costs hundreds for one night, and the conditions are poor.”
Yu Wen, from an ordinary family, was imdiately deterred by the price.
Dong Qingfeng suggested, “So my advice is, let’s rest first, and tonight we can all try the Lu Province barbecue together.”
Yang Sheng: “I agree!”
Tang Fu clapped her hands, “Barbecue with beer!”
With their agreent, Dong Qingfeng was all smiles, his tone rising, “Then tomorrow, the 11th, we’ll rest during the day and catch up on sleep, and start for Taishan at 10 p.m., climbing by night to enjoy the sunrise on the 12th.”
“The downside of the night climb is that you can’t see the scenery as you ascend,” he added.
Guo Kunnan: “We can get up early the next day to see it.”
Huang Zhongfei considered it and said, “That won’t work; we’ll be too tired the next day.”
Guo Kunnan was dismissive, “Class rep, you underestimate our physical fitness!”
Huang Zhongfei didn’t argue but brought up the accommodation issue. He had been to Taishan before and had relatives doing business there.
“My relative has two houses, four-bedroom, two-hall fully furnished ones that we can use,” he said.
Dong Qingfeng replied, “Class rep, just tell us how much money we should pay, please don’t make it free; we can’t take advantage of you.”
Huang Zhongfei thought for a mont, “One hundred a day.”
Others might not understand, but Dong Qingfeng traveled often and was savvy, “That’s nonsense? Friendship prices shouldn’t be like that.”
Huang Zhongfei corrected himself, “Fine, two hundred a day then, each house for four people.”
At fifty yuan per person per day, the accommodation was a real bargain.
