Chapter 742: Chapter 447: Substitute

“So she frad you for others, leading the whole class to ostracize you and making the teacher call your parents to school.”

“You forgave her later?”

Dong Qingfeng nearly trembled as he spoke these words, his eyes red with anger.

For soone like him, who viewed a beautiful girl like Yang Sheng as a sister, as his heart and soul, as precious as the stars in the sky, how could he bear to see her wronged?

He wished he could go back to that mont and stand in front of the whole class to shout,

“She is innocent!”

Teenagers seldom hide their emotions, and his anger was noticed by everyone at the table.

Yang Sheng smiled indifferently, displaying her magnanimity,

“It’s no big deal!”

Hearing this, Tang Fu’s heart skipped a beat, knowing she would be furious and definitely not as calm as Yang Sheng if she were in that situation.

“There you go, my first ti making money was a bit complicated and not as much as you guys,” Yang Sheng admitted gracefully.

Jiang Ning spoke tily, “That’s indeed not easy.”

Everyone clinked their drinks, seeing Yang Sheng maintain her composure, so the others suppressed their emotions and continued eating.

“Try this pig trotter, it’s not greasy at all,” Dong Qingfeng lightened the atmosphere as he opened the bag containing the pig trotters.

Xue Yuantong cautiously looked around, especially at the restaurant’s waitstaff, wary of being told not to eat outside food inside the restaurant.

She had seen on TV, custors who were kicked out of restaurants for this reason.

Yet, when they weren’t charged for their al after being kicked out, Xue Yuantong felt it was quite fair.

Then she rembered, she was traveling, all expenses were reimbursed by her mother’s company, which sohow didn’t feel quite right.

Just by eating outside food, nurous thoughts popped into Xue Yuantong’s little head.

Tang Fu took a bite, the well-marinated pig trotter was beautifully colored, a soy-brown, flavorful, tender but not greasy, quite delicious.

“Delicious, even better than the roast pig trotters from the departnt store,” Tang Fu complinted.

Dong Qingfeng pointed to his share, “Try it, Yang Sheng!”

Yang Sheng: “Is it spicy?”

Tang Fu: “Not spicy.”

Then Yang Sheng took a piece from Tang Fu.

While they were eating, at the next table, a middle-aged man was bragging to the skies.

And at another table, one young man was venting to two colleagues, bitterly analyzing the injustice at their company.

As the alcohol deepened, the young man could not control his emotions and choked up, he had been with the company for two years, expecting to rise step by step, only to end up this way.

He spoke candidly.

The young man, overwheld by alcohol, staggered to the restroom.

After he left, the other two colleagues downed a beer and unabashedly said,

“What an idiot.”

This left Dong Qingfeng’s table bewildered; the disdain on their faces was not feigned; it was genuine contempt.

If that was the case, then the harmony before was fake.

Thinking of this, Xue Yuantong had an epiphany, ‘Is this what the workplace is like?’

Approaching nine o’clock, the dinner ended, and Dong Qingfeng settled the bill.

Stepping out of the restaurant door, Jiang Ning looked up at the do of sky, twinkling like millions of scattered diamonds, romantic and mysterious.

The cool night breeze caressed the face, blowing around Yang Sheng’s short hair; she let her strands get ssy, looking cool and beautiful.

“Quite nice,” Jiang Ning said.

Yang Sheng in complete agreent: “Yes, the wind is really nice.”

Still, it was the evening breeze of a foreign place.

The night wind was soft, like a gentle hand softly patting the heart, serene and comforting.

After a while, Dong Qingfeng broke the silence, “It’s getting late, let’s walk back along Yunlong Lake, go to bed early tonight. Tomorrow we’ll visit the Aquarium in Peng City, do so hiking, take the cable car, and enjoy Peng City’s barbecue in the evening.”

He planned the itinerary.

Everyone, of course, had no objections.

The night roads were even quieter, occasionally a group of dozens of people jogging appeared, shouting slogans and running along the lake road.

Such sights were rarely seen in Yuzhou, Xue Yuantong watched for a while, mostly it was elderly n and won, with a few young people scattered among them.

“Peng City’s residents seem so leisurely,” Tang Fu remarked, often going for night runs but never encountering a jogging group.

Dong Qingfeng agreed, “Peng City has a rich cultural heritage, historically one of Jiu Province, much better than our Yuzhou.”

Chen Qian: “Speaking of cultural heritage, I imdiately think of An City.”

Dong Qingfeng suddenly laughed, “What heritage does it have? It’s just a broken county city!”

The conversation was full of jest.

Walking and stopping in the night breeze, chatting about various topics, expressing their opinions, Dong Qingfeng was in a good mood, usually, he traveled alone most of the ti.

This was his first ti traveling with classmates, having company to talk to was indeed comfortable.

Moving on, a couple stood by the flowerbed kissing, Chen Qian glanced sideways as they passed.

After walking so distance, Chen Qian shook his head, “Her makeup is too thick, not very nice.”

Dong Qingfeng seed to see him in a new light, wide-eyed, “Chen Qian, you notice people’s makeup?”

Chen Qian was known in class to only imrse in classical books, oblivious to external matters, viewing won rely as distractions.

It was quite surprising for him.

Actually, Dong Qingfeng had the sa thought, the woman indeed wore too much makeup, but he was well-mannered, rarely speaking ill of won behind their backs.

Once, Cui Yu spoke ill of a girl’s makeup, calling it ghost-like, and was openly scorned by their classmate Pang Jiao, who declared that a woman’s makeup was to please herself, not stinky n like you.

Cui Yu retorted, “Makeup to please ghosts, huh? Lucky not to scare people to death.”
