Chapter 768: Chapter 460: Battle of Wits!_2

She imdiately rembered the “Balancing Eagle” toy she had played with when she was little.

That thing was a handicraft, far less impressive than the eagle Jiang Ning made by hand.

Xue Chuchu was also drawn in, staring intently at the eagle.

It was completely made of matches, and its internal chanical structure was crystal clear, filled with a rough beauty.

“You, did you put it together?” Xue Chuchu asked awkwardly.

It was just an offhand remark; she never expected that…

She was flattered and sowhat uneasy, with an indescribable emotion in her heart.

Jiang Ning, “Is it difficult?”

Everyone was happy, except for Xue Yuantong, who was knocked down a peg.

During lunch, Xue Yuantong, contrary to her usual self, finished eating early, then left the main house under Chuchu’s surprised gaze.

Xue Yuantong was never one to admit defeat; she’d rather skip lunch than sneak into Jiang Ning’s room to find the matchstick eagle and secretly study it, to replicate it herself.

A second before Xue Yuantong entered the neighboring courtyard,

the wooden eagle on the desk, with its wing feather markings shimring and flowing, began to flap its wings.

Finally, the lifeless wooden eagle, incredibly, spread its wings and flew into the sky.

Xue Yuantong found herself at a loss.

Annoyed, she stomped back and wolfed down two more bowls of rice.

In the evening,

the setting sun slowly sank into the scattered clouds, leaving a trail of blood red as the sun fully set, the final streak of color vanished.

The evening was slightly cooler, with crickets chirping in the fields, while next door, Uncle Tang, Butcher Zhang, and Mr. Qian gathered at their hos, talking.

College student Zhang Ruyun swung his ping pong paddle, playing alone against the wall.

Jiang Ning pushed his mountain bike out of the house.

Only he remained at ho tonight. Xue Yuantong took the travel expense receipts, joining Aunt Gu to get reimbursed at Changqing Liquid Company. Xue Chuchu rode her electric bike with her.

Jiang Ning left because Chen Siyu called him out. The two sisters, grateful for his generosity yesterday, decided to treat him to seafood tonight.

Jiang Ning happened to have ti, so he happily agreed.

Blue Horse Mall, third floor.

Chen Siqing leaned on the railing, looking down at the bustling crowd below, her sister busily scrolling through QQ Space.

“Sister, sister, a classmate from our class is cursing another classmate on their status update!” Chen Siyu shared the gossip.

“Lu Qiqi cursed Yan Tianpeng to die!”

Chen Siqing was taken aback by the particularly vicious curse.

She asked, “Did this Yan Tianpeng commit so kind of unforgivable sin?”

This was not within Chen Siyu’s understanding.

After scrolling on her phone for a while, she turned to her sister, “Do you think Jiang Ning will like the seafood we picked?”

Older sister Chen Siqing, more mature than her naive younger sister, encouraged her,

“He definitely will!”

The sisters cared a lot about this. As the hosts, they arrived early.

As they waited, a striking girl approached them, and Chen Siyu’s eyes instantly lit up when she recognized the person.

Tang Fu!

Only in front of her did Chen Siyu feel a sense of intellectual superiority.

She grabbed her sister and went forward to greet her, “Fufu, what a coincidence!”

Tang Fu looked down and recognized them too; after all, the twin sisters were too morable.

“What are you doing here?” She stopped and engaged in conversation with the two.

“Getting ready to have dinner, have you eaten?”

Tang Fu said, “I have, our family had a dinner with my brother-in-law’s family today. I just stepped out for so air.”

Chen Siqing enquired, “You have a sister?”

Tang Fu, “Oh right, I should tell you, it’s such a coincidence that my sister and I were born only five days apart!”

Chen Siyu pondered for a mont, then with the habitual thinking of a twin, said, “Wow, that’s amazing. Does that an your mom gave birth to your sister and then you were born five days later?”

Tang Fu’s first reaction was that there was nothing wrong with that remark.

Then… huh?

She finally realized the absurdity and laughingly explained, “My sister is several years older than !”

Chen Siyu looked embarrassed; damn, she had made a fool of herself in front of Tang Fu!

Utter humiliation!

Tang Fu felt they were both so foolish, she beca inexplicably more comfortable, knowing she would never make such a low-level mistake.

They chatted a few more sentences when suddenly a man and woman walked over and greeted the chatty Tang Fu,

“Ran into a friend?”

Tang Fu replied, “Classmate, classmate, what a coincidence.”

She was just about to introduce the twin sisters.

But Chen Siyu, very politely, didn’t wait to be introduced and took the initiative, “Auntie, hello, I’m Tang Fu’s classmate, you look so young!”

No matter what kind of woman, they always enjoy being complinted.

Chen Siqing knew this well and went with the flow, “Auntie really looks young, you and Fu Fu together don’t look like mother and daughter at all.”

At the sa ti, the twins revealed identical, adorably sweet smiles.

Only, after their words fell, the atmosphere subtly beca quite strange; none of the three people opposite them picked up the conversation.

The next mont, Tang Fu stiffly said, “She’s my sister.”

Chen Siyu’s toes curled in embarrassnt.

She’d complinted the wrong person.

Her sister Chen Siqing also felt embarrassed, wishing she could turn and leave. But if she left, how would she ever face Tang Fu again?

The sisters’ lost face must be reclaid by the elder, Chen Siqing decided!

She sized up the man Tang Fu’s sister had her arm through: just over fifty years old, with a balding head, a beer belly, but the gold watch on his wrist was blazing brilliantly with ostentatious richness.

With Chen Siqing’s online surfing experience, she instantly understood why Tang Fu’s sister would be willing to hold arms with this unremarkable-looking older man!

Chen Siqing spoke, “This must be your brother-in-law, looks quite dignified like a big company boss!”

Her sister Chen Siyu, sharing a ntal connection, imdiately said, “Yes, yes, brother-in-law looks so energetic, with such a rosy complexion.”

“Hee hee hee.” The twins laughed with glee.

After this, still no one spoke, particularly Tang Fu’s sister, whose face darkened.

Tang Fu could only helplessly sigh, “He’s my dad!”

The twins left the sad Blue Horse Mall.

Chen Siyu touched her sister’s cheek, “It’s so hot!”

Chen Siqing didn’t need to touch to know her sister’s cheeks were definitely scorching.

“It’s so embarrassing!” They exclaid in unison.

Jiang Ning appeared silently behind the two won, his voice light and breezy,

“What’s embarrassing?”

The twins whirled around, then looked up to see his face, faintly smiling.

Chen Siyu waved her hand, “Nothing, nothing!”

Such an embarrassing occurrence, they simply could not bring themselves to speak of it.

Rushing through their hurried excuses, Chen Siqing said, “We’ve selected a restaurant, to treat you to so crab.”

They had specially asked Aunt Gu for their clothing sales salary in advance, in order to treat him to dinner.

“No crabs necessary, crawfish aren’t bad,” Jiang Ning said.

The sisters were determined because they wanted to eat crab too…

They had planned ahead, pulling Jiang Ning straight to a seafood restaurant with quite an impressive entrance.

Once inside, they were led to the crab selection area. Faced with the multitude of options, the sisters were montarily at a loss, unsure of which to choose, finally settling on a popular large crab.

This type of crab ca from Mian Country, costing a hefty 80 bucks per pound!

The sisters didn’t skimp on the money, picking out 3 large crabs, just the crabs alone amounting to 170 bucks. They also chose so shrimp, clams, and added drinks, bringing the total close to 250 bucks. They were really splurging.

“We don’t need to order side dishes, they co with free fries, lettuce, and flat beans,” said Chen Siqing.

Having decided, Chen Siyu suddenly rembered sothing she read on the news – sothing about bullfrogs being injected with hormones, dead shrimp, and dead crabs.

She pulled her sister aside and whispered,

“Sister, do you rember what they said online about so restaurants tricking custors into choosing live crabs but actually cooking dead ones!”

Crabs aren’t like other livestock; once they die, they produce toxins which are detrintal to health.

Never overestimate a rchant’s conscience; they didn’t want their treat to backfire by serving Jiang Ning dead crabs!

Upon hearing this, Jiang Ning thought to himself, the sisters finally got smart for once.

Chen Siyu decided to break off two of the crab’s legs, so they could check them after they were cooked.

Dining turned into a detective experience, with Jiang Ning lending a hand, even using his phone to take pictures as a record.

Then, they went back to their table, sitting down to wait for the crabs to be served.
