Jiang Shiheng even knew that he might be having a nightmare.
He wanted to wake up, but no matter what, he couldn’t awaken.
In the dream, he was already exhausted from running, and he could hear his own panting, along with the sound of footsteps running up the stairs from above and below.
He was caught in the middle.
He only knew one thing in his heart.
He couldn’t stop, he had to hurry up the stairs.
He needed to save her.
Jiang Shiheng ran up another two flights of stairs, feeling on the brink of collapse, and he leaned against the wall, trying hard to catch his breath to quickly regain some strength.
At this moment, a man in military uniform rushed past him.
Unlike his laborious effort, that man’s straight long legs took three steps at a time, moving extremely fast.
"Hey!" he called out to the man, "Please, you must save her!"
The man didn’t look back but responded in a deep voice, "Of course!"
Then he sped upstairs, as fast as a cheetah, stirring up a gust of wind.
Just as Jiang Shiheng felt slightly relieved, he suddenly heard a woman’s scream from above, followed by her shouting, "Why? Why do you have to catch me?"
"We’re not just trying to catch you..."
A voice, somewhat low, was heard, but not clearly.
The next moment, it was again the woman’s scream.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a shadow fall from a window.
Jiang Shiheng felt his heart was about to jump out of his chest.
He lunged at the window and looked out.
Bang.
The woman landed on the ground, and blood quickly spread from beneath the back of her head.
It was as if his heart had died at that moment.
All he could see was a sea of blood.
There was nothing he could see, only a smear of blood, with the woman lying in the middle.
"Little!"
Jiang Shiheng let out a sudden cry and sat up from the bed.
He was drenched in cold sweat, feeling his entire body was cold, as if his heart had stopped.
Jiang Shiheng felt something was wrong with himself, and the next second he realized it was as if he had forgotten to breathe.
He took a huge gasp of air, finally seeming to find his breath again.
"Sixth Young Master, are you alright?"
Sun Han’s concerned voice came from outside the door.
Jiang Shiheng took a deep breath and then replied, "I’m fine, I just had a nightmare."
He lifted the quilt, got out of bed, and went to open the door.
Sun Han was taken aback at the sight of him.
Sixth Young Master had nightmares before, but never like this; a set of pajamas seemed soaked with sweat, even his hair was slightly damp, with sweat beads on his forehead, and his plexion looked terrible.
"Sixth Young Master, are you okay? Do you need Doctor Chen to e and take a look?" Sun Han asked worriedly.
Jiang Shiheng shook his head, "No need, it’s really nothing, just a nightmare. I’m going to drink a glass of water, you should rest."
Watching his back, Sun Han still felt something was off.
What kind of nightmare could be so terrifying?
At this time, should he make a call to Xiao Chiang?
It’s probably late already, not sure if Xiao Chiang is asleep or not.
While Sun Han was pondering this, Jiang Shiheng’s voice already came over, "There’s no need to tell Little about this, it’s just a nightmare, no big deal, telling her would only make her worry."
"Alright, Sixth Young Master, I understand."
Even though Sun Han agreed, he reminded himself to remember this incident and be sure to mention it to Jiang Xiao the next time he talks to her on the phone.
