August 12th.

It was the third day after the standoff had ended.

The economic conference continued.

However, this ti there were two additional participants, as Pan Cong and David each sent a delegation to join.

Their purpose was twofold, first to get acquainted with the various departnts here and build relationships as they formally integrate into Myanmar’s political environnt.

Second was to attend this conference.

To witness the developntal achievents and economic plans coming out of Myanmar.

In the vast conference hall.

Hundreds were seated below.

Lang Cai and several deputies were seated on the stage.

Today, Lang Cai looked refreshed, his complexion much rosier than before.

Finally, during his term, he had managed to pull back two states that wanted to break away, completing what he called his "historical mission."

At this ti.

Kan Qin was speaking.

The deputies would report according to the departnts they oversaw, and Kan Qin was the penultimate, with Ling speaking last.

"In the first half of 2006, as per the civil departnt’s statistics, the population increased by 710,000.

The population structure remained unchanged, with a sufficient young and middle-aged labor force, and the infant mortality rate dropped by 0.5 percent."

"..."

"The main task for the civil departnt in the second half of the year is a nationwide census, issuance of new household registration and identity docunts.

We are enhancing the information and anti-counterfeiting features on the identity docunts, in anticipation of an increasingly automated population managent model.

At the beginning of next year, to ensure travel safety, we will implent stricter security examination systems for long-distance public transportation and introduce real-na reforms..."

"..."

"Last year, the industrial departnt’s imports of equipnt increased by 3,700 percent over the sa period, and the increasing equipnt imports have consud a large portion of Myanmar’s foreign exchange reserves.

Therefore, in the second half of the year, the industrial departnt will start drafting semi-mandatory purchasing standards for dostic equipnt..."

"..."

Kan Qin oversaw six departnts.

Civil Affairs.

Industry.

Foreign Affairs.

Education.

Social Security.

Agriculture.

He spoke for over an hour before concluding.

Next was Ling.

He was the last deputy to speak.

Ling oversaw only one departnt, equivalent to the Developnt and Reform Commission; however, his departnt only had the rights to provide suggestions and make plans, so his speech was relatively brief.

It ended in about ten minutes.

But the report concerning the Myanmar Economic Zone was extensive.

"In the first half of the year, the Myanmar Economic Zone’s total investnt reached 39 billion Asia Dollars, accomplishing the Village-to-village Connection Project for roads.

At the sa ti, multiple main roads were constructed in towns, increasing travel options, alleviating cargo transportation pressures, and offering convenience to the villages along the routes."

"In the first half of the year, the Myanmar Economic Zone has preliminarily established a Social Security System and achieved universal social security and dical insurance coverage for the populace of the Special Zone.

In the second half of the year, we will start providing free physical examinations for all registered residents in the Special Zone.

We aim to establish personal health records, perfect the system for assessing dical expenses, and prevent the aggravation of diseases.

We will decrease or even eliminate tariffs on imported dicine, and at the sa ti increase investnt in drug research, to reduce dependency on imported drugs as much as possible."

"..."

"In the first half of 2006, the GDP of the Myanmar Economic Zone broke through 20 billion USD, and this year’s GDP is expected to exceed 50 billion USD.

Industry has contributed 73 percent to the GDP, Agriculture 9 percent, and the service sector 15 percent...."

"Wow."

As this data was released.

It imdiately caused a stir among the audience.

"What? How is that possible?"

"It has to be fake."

"Impossible."

"Must have added an extra zero," he mused.

"..."

The people below generally expressed their inability to accept this.

Although they knew the Myanmar Economic Zone was wealthy,

the data from the Myanmar Economic Zone had not been made public before.

They didn’t have a very tangible impression.

Now, soone suddenly told them that the GDP of the Myanmar Economic Zone for the first half of the year might be more than that of all the other states combined.

It should be known that Myanmar’s GDP last year was just over ten billion dollars; this was against nature!

Looking at the buzz of discussions below,

Lang Cai held the microphone.

"Everyone, please be quiet. These data are accurate and reliable. The unique developnt model of the Myanmar Economic Zone, along with several key products, makes this scale of GDP reasonable."

Only several tens of billions of dollars.

After seeing the astronomical numbers exposed by Ling when he swindled Pan Cong and Dsvid the other day, these figures didn’t sound so crazy anymore.

He was the President of a country; he couldn’t act like a country bumpkin. After all, what was the difference between ten billion and several tens of billions?

Both were far beyond the data of the other states.

With Lang Cai’s confirmation, the people below no longer doubted and looked at Ling as if they were seeing an alien.

This was not just a miracle; it was virtually a divine act.

Following this was a heated gaze, but Ling was not at all concerned and continued reporting data.

"In the second half of the year, the Myanmar Economic Zone is projected to have public fiscal expenditures of 490 billion Asia Dollars,

mainly used for the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure, welfare guarantees for public officials, governnt procurent, and governnt project investnt..."

Hearing this, the people below were dumbfounded once again.

Four hundred and ninety billion?

Are you kidding?

How much was the tax revenue of the Myanmar Economic Zone for the first half of the year?

Ling ntioned it was only 171 billion Asia Dollars. Even if it were the sa amount in the second half of the year, you could not... Wait, damn it, the Myanmar Economic Zone can print money.

Damn.

I forgot about that.

Ling, who could print money, how much could he not co up with? This amount of money could entirely be borrowed from the Myanmar Bank in the form of a loan to spend in advance.

After the astonishnt,

they pricked up their ears, listening to the stream of huge numbers coming out of Ling’s mouth, their jaws dropping wider and wider.

In the end,

the summary by Ling.

Electrified the entire hall.

"The Myanmar Economic Zone is a land of hope. We eagerly hope to work together with all the states to make Myanmar a modern country,

to give out our own voice in the world, to tell the world that we are not dumber than anyone, we are not inferior to anyone.

What we’ve created is not a miracle; what we’ve created is the life that truly belongs to us."

"Applause..."

Applause filled the hall.

Many people stood up, a long and fervent ovation, more intense and sustained than the applause for other deputy leaders’ speeches.

Only second to Lang Cai’s yesterday about the progress of cooperation between two states.

Looking at Ling on the stage,

they looked at him with admiration in their eyes.

There was no helping it; after all, Ling had truly achieved these things. Fruit wine, who doesn’t know about it? And the filter, who hasn’t heard of it?

Both are world-changing things.

One solved the global spread and treatnt of banned substances, saving countless families.

The other could improve the global air quality, both of significant historical importance.

Not to ntion the mine-clearing vehicles that helped those in the area threatened by remnants of war to eliminate danger completely.

Of great significance.

In front of the data from the Myanmar Economic Zone,

every other report paled in comparison.

.....

PS: It’s not easy to code in the village, happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
