October 23rd.
Monday.
The company dinner had ended.
The ghosts and goblins of Hong Kong had been dealt with.
Finally, I could have so peace—today’s weather wasn’t bad either. Early in the morning, Tang Qing was fishing in the manor’s lake while Lin Jiaxue kept him company, fishing with a straight hook. Only Tang Qing would find such a dull activity entertaining.
After all, he wasn’t going to eat what he caught.
Why put the fish through such trouble then?
However,
before it even reached noon,
Qin Yugang arrived, alongside a familiar face, his forr boss—
Feng Hai.
Walking into the manor,
Feng Hai couldn’t help but look around; in the dostic scene, villas are a tycoon’s ’standard issue’, but a manor like this is truly hard to co by. Even if regular rich folks wanted to build one, they would not necessarily be so ostentatious about it.
Uncle wasn’t at ho.
So, Tang Qing took up the duty of hosting.
"Sorry to intrude, hope you don’t mind."
Feng Hai shook hands with Tang Qing, all smiles.
"Feng Uncle, cut the formality, please co in."
"I love your way of talking; it’s so welcoming," Feng Hai laughed heartily, and followed Tang Qing into the living room where the servants had already poured tea; slling it, Feng Hai imdiately took a sip.
Mm.
Just as refreshing as ever.
"Feng Uncle, today is Monday, how co you’re free to visit Qingyan City?" Tang Qing wondered aloud.
Feng Hai set down his cup, "I ca back to visit Jiaojiao’s grandfather. I heard your uncle was in Qingyan City too, so I wanted to have a drink with him. He brought here to scrounge so wine from your second uncle."
"Then you’re most welco; the wine is plenty," Tang Qing asserted. "Feng Sen was just complaining that he only saw you once since sumr vacation."
Hearing his son ntioned, Feng Hai playfully chided, "That brat, how dare he complain! He ca ho and stayed for three days before disappearing to who knows where, causing no end of worry."
"He’s still good, at least he doesn’t cause trouble everywhere," Tang Qing shook his head.
"Haha, that’s true."
Feng Hai knew his son well; at worst, he was just a bit too fond of fun.
"Uncle, how’s the Provincial Departnt’s funding going?" Tang Qing shifted his attention to Qin Yugang.
Qin Yugang smiled, "You know about that?"
"Heard it from Second Uncle."
Recalling the issue, Qin Yugang felt it was quite a roller coaster. Eventually, he sought out a leader and managed to get things done but didn’t want to delve into details with Tang Qing, "It’s going alright; secured eight million, but it hasn’t been disbursed yet."
"How about work? Everything settled?" Tang Qing inquired.
Qin Yugang shook his head, then nodded, "The more you want to do, the more there is to do; the less you want to do, the less there is."
"Yugang sums it up quite insightfully," Feng Hai added ruefully. At their level, there truly was an endless amount of work if they sought it out, but if not, they could really enjoy enviable leisure.
As long as they attended various etings and dealt with inspections from superiors and subordinates.
After a short exchange of small talk,
Tang Qing got straight to the point.
"Feng Uncle, we’re all family here, so let’s not beat around the bush, shall we? Is there anything you’d like to advise?"
Feng Hai smiled,
"I wouldn’t presu to advise, I’m just here to see if you have any good projects that could benefit our city. Of course, if not, no worries. As you said, we’re family, and I won’t persuade you to do business you’re not interested in."
Last year, in the latter half, he was appointed as the mayor of a neighboring city.
Now,
over a year had passed,
and the "acting" in front of his title had been removed.
You don’t know how expensive firewood and rice are until you manage a household.
Previously, he only had to oversee law enforcent and demand money for the city, but now, others were asking him for money. No amount of funds was enough for the various departnts in the city and the districts and counties below them.
It was a major headache.
Having been in office for over a year, Feng Hai had been desperately trying to improve the economy.
It could be said he was running himself ragged.
This visit,
was truly a shot in the dark, a spur-of-the-mont decision. If he outright asked Tang Qing to invest in a project of no interest to him, Dou Jiao would no doubt be on the phone complaining, and it wouldn’t be surprising if she even went to Cui Guangming to tattle.
Dou Jiao’s nagging.
That was sothing he couldn’t afford to provoke.
Feng Hai said, "Our city is currently actively seeking investnt. Whatever other cities can offer, we can too. If we can’t, I won’t break the rules. In short, if there’s a project, we’ll take care of it, and if not, then forget it."
After listening.
Tang Qing already had a plan.
"Uncle Feng, you’ve co to , how could I let you return empty-handed? However, this ti it’s not , my second uncle has a few projects, you can have a good talk with him."
In Tang Qing’s hands,
He didn’t plan on adding any more projects for now.
Hearing Tang Kai,
Feng Hai joyfully said, "Oh? That’s wonderful. Where is Boss Tang?"
Tang Kai’s recent investnts in Qingyan City had been widely reported just a few days ago. With so much money being poured in, everyone in Qingyan City was overjoyed and ready to go all out.
"My second uncle will be back soon, he and Second Aunt are in a eting about the Film and Television City project," Tang Qing explained.
Feng Hai waved his hand.
"I’ve got plenty of ti. Speaking of, this tea of yours really is..."
Over half an hour later,
Tang Kai returned.
When he went to see the Film and Television City with Tang Qing previously, Tang Qing said they should enrich the scene settings, which is what he went to implent today, ultimately extending the deadline by two months. However, he didn’t mind.
Profit?
He wasn’t in a hurry.
"Tangtang, who is this?" Tang Kai asked with a smile upon seeing the unfamiliar face.
"Second Uncle, this is Jiaojiao’s maternal uncle, aunt’s forr superior, and now the mayor of the city on her side of the family. You see, I reckon your new projects have a potential ho."
Hearing that Feng Hai had such a close connection to his own family, and was the mayor of the city where the Youman Family is located, Tang Kai hurried over to shake hands, "Hello, Mayor Feng, please, take a seat. Let’s have a good chat."
"Sure."
After sitting down,
Feng Hai began to introduce.
"Let start by introducing our city’s conditions. Our city is located in the plains, and our main economy is the chemical industry..." Feng Hai spent more than five minutes to fully explain their situation.
The good, the bad, the advantages, the disadvantages.
He made everything clear.
The fact that Tang Kai could speak so candidly
ant there were good projects available, which was support for him, Feng Hai. To be secretive and pick only the good points to ntion would be for outsiders. Moreover, Sky Eye would certainly prepare a feasibility report for Tang Kai.
Afterwards,
"By the way, I wonder what projects Boss Tang is planning to invest in?" Feng Hai asked.
"Battery factories."
"Battery factories?"
"Yes, a lead-acid battery factory, as well as a lithium battery factory," Tang Kai nodded. He had already consulted with the Myanmar Bank Group, who agreed to him building two battery factories in Huaxia’s inland region.
The Myanmar Bank Group would provide equipnt and technical support.
Feng Hai happily said, "That’s perfect, our area is the largest exporter of chemical raw materials in the province. There are many enterprises making batteries there, and we very much welco investnt. If it’s too troubleso, you can consider acquiring so companies."
Tang Kai imdiately shook his head, "No need, I don’t plan on using dostic equipnt."
"That, wouldn’t dostic costs be a bit cheaper?" Feng Hai had also done research and knew this wasn’t too difficult. There already was a mature industry chain dostically.
"No, what I’m interested in is the technical support ability of the manufacturers," Tang Kai explained.
Technical support.
That had beco Tang Kai’s favorite term over the past two years.
In the factories within the Myanmar Economic Zone,
Because he used their equipnt, he not only had technical cooperation with them but also had their backing when issues arose. Whenever they developed new technology, they would make it available for their use.
During this ti,
His several factories went through nurous upgrades and transformations without him spending a penny on research and developnt funds. All he needed to do was submit reports to the Myanmar Bank Group, now known as the Zhiya Research Center, providing them with targets.
They would handle the upgrade plans and specific research and developnt.
The convenience was beyond asure.
He simply needed to focus on making his products, lying back while the money rolled in. As for the cost concerns, they were trivial in the face of the imnse benefits being generated.
"Alright, it’s your call," Feng Hai didn’t say much more.
Soon,
The two of them reached a verbal agreent.
Tang Kai would invest eight hundred million RMB.
To build the largest lead-acid and lithium battery factories in the province, with all available incentives included. As for any concerns Qingyan City’s leadership might have regarding investing in a neighboring city, Feng Hai would handle it.
Moreover,
Qingyan City lacked industry support.
And recently, as they were working on building a city of culture and greenery, they weren’t really welcoming to such factories.
