A person’s reputation, like a shadow, is always attached to them. Never overdraw your own credibility, and most importantly, don’t let your success cloud your judgnt, otherwise, nothing good will co of it.
Yan Guangting had asked Zhou Li to accompany him, which naturally upset Yan Fei, a clear sign of distrust. After all, how hard could it be to repay a debt? Especially when it was him who was going to pay it back, the borrower should be the one to co knocking. In his view, before the loan, it’s you who is beholden to , after the loan, it’s you begging to pay it back, so who do you think you are?
Although disgruntled, since his father had already made the decision, Yan Fei naturally didn’t dare to oppose, so as not to anger his father again. After getting off the car, Yan Fei stepped into the Baiwei Restaurant with mixed emotions, while Zhou Li had gone off to buy cigarettes.
Just as he stepped through the door, a figure caught Yan Fei’s gloomy gaze, causing his eyes to light up as he hurriedly made his way over.
Yan Fei jogged over to the front desk, saying excitedly, "Jingjing, so this is where you are. I’ve been looking for you since you left, but no one knew where you were. I’m so glad to see you again."
Zhang Jing was at the front desk, serving custors with a calibrated smile, a necessity in the service industry. Her months of training had accustod her to wear a warm smile all day, despite her natural disinclination to do so. Many custors had complinted her on her lovely smile. But hearing that voice, she froze, turning around to see the ’familiar’ face, instantly her face turned from joy to gloom.
"Yan Fei, why are you here?" Zhang Jing said coldly. Every ti she saw him, she was reminded of his ’glorious past’, filling her with revulsion.
Yan Fei, to his credit, ignored Zhang Jing’s tone, and just kept going with his excited chatter. "I ca to eat here. You know, since you left, I..."
"Mr. Yan, please don’t interfere with my work." Zhang Jing interrupted coldly, being thoroughly annoyed.
"Why did you leave, isn’t it good to be with ? Now that I’m in charge of the factory, you..." Yan Fei continued heedlessly.
"Yan Fei, shut up. Let remind you again, first, don’t call Jingjing, it’s not your place. Second, I’m not interested in you or your family background. Finally, I know about your affairs with Ma Li and Liu Qianqian, and what you did in the storeroom, so no, we will never be a possibility. Please stop talking, OK?" Zhang Jing said disdainfully.
Yan Fei was stunned by this revelation, how could Zhang Jing possibly know these things? But in order to win her over, he sprang into action. "Jingjing, yes, I admit I had a relationship with them. But the one I truly care about is you. It’s been a long ti since I had anything to do with them. And they were the ones who seduced , both were hoping to get promoted at work. I was tempted, but I assure you, from now on, if you choose to follow , I will wholeheartedly devote myself to you."
To make his speech more impactful, Yan Fei stepped forward, gave a great yawn and forced out so tears, wetting his eyes.
Zhang Jing was speechless as she watched Yan Fei’s shaless performance. Had she not known the truth, she might have believed him. However, she knew that the two won would have never engaged in such activities just for a promotion. She knew them both, and Yan Fei had threatened them that he would fire them if they didn’t comply. Naturally, she was more prone to believe the two won crying their eyes out, rather than Yan Fei’s pathetic pretense.
Yan Fei, dare you deceive thinking that I am naive as those young girls?
Zhang Jing took a deep breath to calm her rising anger. After all, she was still on duty and couldn’t lose her temper there. Otherwise, even beyond Tang Qing and Li Jianguo supporting her, she didn’t want it to affect business at the restaurant today.
Zhang Jing said calmly: "Mr. Yan, please behave yourself. It’s work hours now, so please, don’t disrupt my work. Do you need to eat or not?"

This made an inexperienced Zhang Jing tense up in response.
"I don’t care. If you don’t forgive , I won’t leave! If you continue to hold a grudge against , I will visit you daily and will disrupt your business." Yan Fei loudly declared, thinking he had found Zhang Jing’s weak point with a simple logic: if she doesn’t accept his apology, he would make it impossible for her to work in peace. Eventually, she would have to forgive him and then he could ’work harder’, and win her over. And if she doesn’t forgive him, he would continue to co back day in day out until the point where the frustrated boss might have to let Zhang Jing go. Finally, with no place to go and facing a tough ho situation, Zhang Jing would end up with him.
Upon hearing Yan Fei’s words, Zhang Jing beca infuriated. It was difficult for her to find this job with its decent pay and supportive boss. She also really loved this working environnt. Was it all going down the drain because of the local thug in front of her? Even if Tang Qing and Li Jianguo decided to keep her job, she would still feel guilty about the possible negative impact on the restaurant’s business.
"You..."
Thinking of the possibility of drifting from place to place, and having to take up odd jobs again brought Zhang Jing to the brink of tears, unable to hold back her despair.
Yan Fei, who was observing the situation, showed not one bit of sympathy or remorse. On the contrary, he was filled with satisfaction, thinking his goal was within reach, his face full of smugness.
At the very mont when Zhang Jing was unable to take it any longer, a voice rang out: "Who dares interfere with our business?"
The voice brought hope to Zhang Jing who had been hanging her head low. She instantly cheered up, looked towards the direction of the voice, her eyes filled with relief.
Tang Qing and Li Kai walked in from outside.
Tang Qing had just arrived and hadn’t heard what Yan Fei had said earlier, but he did hear the part of Yan Fei threatening their business. When he initially saw Yan Fei standing at the counter talking, he thought Yan Fei was rely asking for directions. However, as he got closer, he heard Yan Fei threatening their business and saw Zhang Jing on the brink of tears. This made him furious.
Damn it, daring to bully my employee, especially Zhang Jing who had always taken good care of him like an older sister, this guy’s asking for trouble.
From the beginning, he had had a deep dislike for Yan Fei, who had questioned him about the high breach-of-contract fee. He hadn’t forgotten about it, and now this guy was bullying his employees and flaunting his power, as if Tang Qing was soone easy to ss with.
