Tang Qing.

Tang Kai.

The Tang Family.

Even Su Yu has to treat them with caution nowadays.

Ling and Tang Kai have a deep connection, one that predates his own by a long ti. The two knew each other from early on—Tang Kai was one of the people who aided Ling in building his empire. By comparison, Su Yu was rely a ’newcor.’

Though this status brought him considerable power,

it didn’t an he could control Tang Kai.

Outsiders often assud he was one of Ling’s closest confidants; otherwise, why would he hold the position of vice-chief? But Su Yu knew perfectly well that Ling’s true confidants weren’t people like him—they were the individuals who erged from Myanmar Bank Group.

These individuals were spread across the Myanmar Economic Zone.

So,

through competitive recruitnt, gradually rose to positions at various ministries and commissions in Naypyidaw and other provinces, wielding real authority. Of the original three vice-directors of the Myanmar Economic Zone, two had moved on to beco second-in-command at ministries in Naypyidaw.

One went to another province as the top leader.

Other departnts in the various special zones also saw large numbers of people transferred to Naypyidaw and other provinces, all holding substantial positions of power.

The several new vice-directors who recently rose through the ranks, unsurprisingly, were Ling’s people too. One of them even ca from an administrative departnt of Myanmar Bank Group. However, it’s estimated that they won’t stay long before Ling reassigns them elsewhere.

As for him,

Ling’s plan for him was for him to remain the unshakable district chief.

As long as he doesn’t make mistakes.

He could hold onto the role indefinitely. Naturally, Su Yu was pleased—this district served as Ling’s strategic rear base, and although Su Yu only had limited managent authority over this rear base, in the eyes of others, he was the one in charge.

He had money.

He had power, to its utmost limits.

Going higher?

Would he dare covet Ling’s position? Su Yu didn’t even entertain the thought—it was madness.

He was content.

What remained was simply following Ling’s orders, doing his job well, and retiring peacefully. By his calculations, he had another decade or so before retirent. As for Ling... Su Yu figured Ling would still be in power long after his own death.

"Boss Tang, if there’s an opportunity, you’re welco to invest in Myanmar," Su Yu said, extending an invitation.

Tang Qing nodded. "If there’s a worthwhile project, I’ll definitely be there."

"Haha, good."

Su Yu laughed heartily.

As vice-chief, attracting investnt was part of his job.

However,

investnt attraction here was fundantally different from elsewhere. Here, it mostly involved internal investnt, as there were industry access restrictions and scale limits in place—building a factory wasn’t open to just anyone. If the quota was exceeded, it didn’t matter who ca; they’d be out of luck.

...

As market opening approached,

the journalists left, while a number of disgruntled investors remained, their eyes filled with resentnt. "You’ve taken up all of Tang Qing’s ti; we didn’t even get a mont with him. Guess we’ll have to wait until the dinner party to talk."

At that mont,

a striking woman in formal attire approached.

She wore a smile on her face,

her eyes radiating confidence and a hint of shrewdness. Beside her stood her female secretary.

"Little Boss Tang."

"Sister Han, it’s been a long ti." Tang Qing smiled and greeted her.

Jiao Han.

Of course he knew her.

She was Ge Feng’s cousin but five years older than Tang Qing—a quintessential businesswoman. She had always been helping her family manage their enterprises. The last ti they t was at Ge Feng’s wedding, where Tang Qing happened to address her as "Sister."

Fine.

If she insisted, he’d call her that. It ca with gifts anyway, so what difference did it make? He hadn’t anticipated that such a simple gesture would lead to gifts of specialty products during festivals and trips, though they were usually addressed to Lin Jiaxue and only rarely to him.

"How’s Jiaxue doing?" Jiao Han asked.

She waited until Tang Qing had finished dealing with Su Yu and the journalists before coming forward.

"She’s out walking around—she thinks this place reeks too much of money." Tang Qing chuckled.

Jiao Han nodded. "True enough. How long are you planning to stay?"

"A week."

"Do you plan to explore anywhere?" Jiao Han asked.

"Delin Province. I’ve heard there are several promising tourism projects underway there, so I might as well take a look." Tang Qing replied. The "National Tourism Developnt Plan" had sold a great deal of tourism-related real estate last year.

Many were now semi-operational,

but overall, they were still being refined. Few were fully operational or heavily promoted. The current visitors were mainly patients and their families, many of whom toured around after completing their treatnts.

Additionally,

The small island his second uncle purchased was nearing completion for habitation. Being the first visit, Tang Kai insisted Tang Qing join him to test out living there for a few days. If it didn’t seem suitable, they could make changes.

"Oh? You’re going to Delin Province?" Jiao Han’s face lit up with excitent.

"Why does that make you so happy?" Tang Qing asked, puzzled.

"You could save on plane tickets," she quipped.

"..."

After cracking the joke,

Jiao Han added, "I’ve acquired a fair amount of coastal land and several sea islands with developnt rights in Delin Province. The island construction is nearing completion, and I’d love to invite you over to give so feedback."

"Oh, I believe your second uncle also got hold of a particularly stunning sea island. You all are planning to go there, right? It’s such a beautiful place. When I passed by recently, I didn’t even want to leave."

Jiao Han’s eyes sparkled.

Tang Kai’s island was quite famous.

During the bidding process, the on-site footage was breathtaking. However, being a businesswoman, she didn’t dare emulate Tang Kai by throwing in astronomical sums without caution. In the end, she actually managed to win the bid through sheer heavy investnt.

Many wanted to purchase the island,

but once they found out it belonged to Tang Kai, they backed off.

Money wasn’t an issue for him.

"Sure, as long as it’s free," Tang Qing agreed.

A week’s visit.

Of course, they wouldn’t spend all their ti on the island.

Visiting an island bought by Jiao Han sounded like a good idea too.

"I wouldn’t dare charge you. I’ll even prepare so gifts for when you leave. Deal?" Jiao Han said with a smile.

"That sounds about right."

"When are you heading over?" Jiao Han asked.

"Tomorrow, after lunch. We’ll take a car and enjoy the scenery along the way—you won’t be able to hitch a ride on the airplane this ti." Tang Qing laughed. He hadn’t taken a long road trip in a while, and it was an opportunity to see how things had changed around this region.

With expressways in place,

it was an easy journey.

By evening, they would reach Naypyidaw.

The following day, Yangon.

And on the third day, Delin Province.

"No problem, I’ll be waiting for you in Delin Province," Jiao Han said.

"Alright."

At this mont,

a lodious sound rang out.

It was the market-opening bell for Myanmar’s stock exchange.

Designed by Tang Qing, the sound was pleasing and relaxing to the ear. Compared to the harsh and urgent feeling of a regular bell, Tang Qing preferred sothing he called ’transaction artistry.’

Therefore,

he created this unique lody.

Its worldwide exclusivity had even turned it into the BGM for nurous video clips.

Outside the exchange,

"Where is Tang Qing? Where is he?" Many people hurried over upon hearing the news, hoping to catch a glimpse and soak in the financial aura.

"He’s already gone inside."

"I’m going in to check."

"You must be new here. Did you see the guards at the entrance? Today, only major investors are allowed inside. Vice-chief Su Yu is in there," soone nearby explained, looking at the black mass of people surrounding the place.

If anyone tried to squeeze in,

it would undoubtedly turn chaotic, and this was even with restricted entry. Rumor had it the entrances to the two street lanes near the exchange were blocked off—at least for now, it was exit-only.

anwhile,

the massive screen on the wall began to flicker.

"It’s starting."

"Quick—look! Qingyuan Technology is at the top of the list."

"Don’t make such a fuss—it’s their debut day. Regardless of rise or fall, they’ll occupy the top spot for a day."

"Got it."

"I’ve already instructed my trader to buy everything under twenty-five."

"I’ll take twenty-seven."

"I’ll go for thirty."

"Damn, I need to adjust mine right away."

...

Inside the exchange,

Su Yu kept his eyes firmly fixed on the screen. He had subscribed to a considerable number of shares this ti. In Myanmar, governnt officials were permitted to run businesses and engage in entrepreneurship. While not actively encouraged, it wasn’t prohibited either. Therefore, he wasn’t breaking any rules.

Relatively speaking,

this kind of money was earned without any risk.
