"That won’t be necessary. I have my own channels and brands. Not to hide anything, my uncle also runs a jewelry business, but it’s overseas." Tang Qing explained, in order to avoid any misunderstanding from Liu Qian, he decided to bring it up.
"Your uncle? Okay, whenever he is free, let’s have a al together. I owe you guys a al." Liu Qian said in surprise. He knew about Tang Qing’s uncle, but only that he had disappeared, and he didn’t know about his dispute with Lei Peng’s family. Otherwise, his previous collaboration with Tang Qing might not have been so harmonious. He didn’t want to clash with Lei Peng.
"Well, okay... How about the day after tomorrow?" Tang Qing thought for a mont before agreeing. His uncle was going back to pay his respects to his grandparents in the next two days. The day after tomorrow would be his return day. His uncle might be venturing into the dostic market in the future. Introducing him to Liu Qian could potentially benefit his uncle’s future developnt in the province.
At present, Tang Qing could only provide protection behind the scenes. He could solve the money problem, but he couldn’t ddle in official matters or other competition and cooperation-related issues. He can’t just get rid of you if you compete with his uncle. He wasn’t that unwise. He wasn’t keen to resort to violence in maintaining normal business order. But with the help of Liu Qian, the local tycoon, his uncle’s journey back ho would be much smoother.
"Then let it be the day after tomorrow. Rember, we’ll have dinner at my house. I’ll find you a suitable store within three days," Liu Qian said.
Although this was a bit ahead of his planned return, there was nothing wrong with familiarizing himself with Tang Qing’s family, especially with Tang Qing’s uncle drawing his attention. Like Li Kai, he unconsciously assud that the person behind Tang Qing was his uncle.
"Okay, no problem. Thanks, Uncle Liu." Tang Qing thanked him.
"It’s a small thing; I’ll arrange for it right away." Liu Qian said, he didn’t even need to handle such small matters personally. His na was like solid gold in Qingyan City. Few people would dare to ignore or disrespect him.
Tang Qing hung up after they chatted a few more words. If Liu Qian said three days, then it would definitely be so because Liu Qian was soone who valued saving face.
Then Tang Qing shared this news with his parents and Mr. Lin. Now, his parents had put up the sign for transferring the store, which surprised many around them. They had just opened for a few days and now they’re transferring the store? Many people ca around to ask for the reasons. Tang’s parents shared the news about opening the jewelry store, considering that these small business owners are potential custors.
Those neighboring wholesalers could only envy them. After all, they had a wealthy younger brother, which was sothing they couldn’t feel envious of. Many even ca to inquire about their business model and were hoping for franchise benefits. But how could they reveal their uncle’s annual settlent thods when they haven’t even started their store? They only ntioned that a large amount of capital was required to stock the store. Despite knowing that they weren’t telling the entire truth, none of the people blad them. Why should they share their business secrets with you?
Once he had inford them, Tang Qing left for Tianfu Hotel. Tang Kai’s rcedes-Benz was already waiting for him at the hotel entrance. When Tang Qing arrived, a soldier imdiately stepped out from the car to open the door for him.
He accompanied his uncle and toured around the tourist spots near Qingyan City, experiencing the changes in their hotown. Tang Kai was filled with many emotions.
Tang Qing and his uncle stood in the pavilion at the top of Qingyan City’s highest mountain peak— Broken Love Mountain.
Two n in suits stood behind them, and another not far away, while one more was down the mountain, watching the car.
As it was the weekend, many people ca to climb the mountain. They weren’t pleased with these four n ’occupying’ the pavilion, but they didn’t dare to say anything due to their intimidating presence. Even the service staff of the scenic spot stood at a distance.
Once again, Tang Qing felt that privilege could sotis be a troubleso thing. When one doesn’t have it, they condemn it. When one does, their stance changes instantaneously, and they feel great. People’s thoughts are entirely driven by their position.
"Tangtang, you’ll be taking the National College Entrance Examination in three months, won’t you?" Tang Kai suddenly asked amidst the silence.
Tang Qing nodded and asked, "Yes, what about it, uncle?" He looked at Tang Kai curiously after speaking.
"What do you plan to do in the future?" Tang Kai turned to Tang Qing as he asked.
"To study," Tang Qing answered without hesitation. What else should a student do but study? Despite his assets amounting to billions, he had no interest in stepping into society. He had already done that, and knew there was nothing good in it. He didn’t look forward to such a life.
"Do you want to beco a boss?" Tang Kai asked again.
"No, it’s too tiring," Tang Qing said, laughing at the question. He thought to himself: I don’t want to be a boss; if I had to be one, I’d be a hands-off boss.
"Don’t you want to be a tycoon?" Tang Kai asked with a smile. He was satisfied with Tang Qing’s answer. It’s not good for a student to always think about money.
"No."
"Then what do you want to be?" Tang Kai asked again.
Tang Qing looked at the sweeping view of Qingyan City and the vast sky and earth before him. After thinking for a mont, he said wistfully, "Perhaps... A teacher."
"Oh? Why?" Tang Kai asked in surprise.
Isn’t this a question a primary school student in the country should answer?
Tang Qing’s lips twitched upward slightly, sothing on his mind. "Because it’s... calm, without so many intrigues." This thought popped up spontaneously, maybe an impulse, maybe sothing he genuinely thought. He can’t quite figure it out. The aim of being a banker was given by the system, not by him.
Having lived two lives and seen too much, he yearned for a truly ’clean’ place to stay among all the ’killings’ he ordered, a place that wouldn’t make his heart grow colder and darker. This place could be the school, or perhaps sowhere else in the future, he wasn’t sure yet.
Tang Kai sensed the lancholy and sentintality in Tang Qing’s vibes, it gave him the feeling of eting an adult who had been through a lot in life. He was surprised for a mont, but then he didn’t find Tang Qing’s ’childish dream’ immature. The term ’teacher’ spans human history, shouldering the transmission of civilization. Normal people only see the assembly line teaching each student, but at his level, he understands the true aning of teachers.
Tang Kai smiled: "Well, no matter what you study, I’ll support you. Money is a good thing, but also a bad thing, chasing it can lead to losing oneself."
"Okay."
For the next ten minutes or so, neither of them chatted, they just watched the scenery before them whilst lost in their own thoughts.
That night, the families didn’t gather again. Tang Qing and his uncle had dinner at the Tianfu Hotel before going ho.
At the sa ti, Tang Qing also inford Liu Qian about planning a dinner, Tang Kai naturally had no objections. Being able to connect with a big shot like Liu Qian was sothing he was more than happy about.
...
The next day.
Tang Qing arrived at school. His parents and uncle had set off to return to the village that sa morning.
As soon as the first class ended, Li Kai curiously ca over and asked softly, "Old Tang, what does your uncle do? He’s so rich, he even has a rcedes Benz and bodyguards."
"He’s in the jewelry business." Tang Qing replied.
"He must be very successful then, why haven’t you ntioned it before?" Li Kai said enviously.
"He operates overseas, it’s natural you haven’t heard about it." Tang Qing answered.
Li Kai changed his tone and ’questioned’: "Tell , did your uncle give you all that money?"
"Er... you can think what you want." Tang Qing shrugged. This kind of misunderstanding was better left unsolved. Explaining would just make things more complicated.
After hearing this, Li Kai had an ’I knew it’ expression and said, "Humph, it must be the truth. Otherwise, how could you make money with that face of yours?"
"What’s wrong with my face?"
"Pretty boy."
"You’re just jealous."
"I am not."
"You are definitely jealous."
"You... if you continue, I’m going to get plastic surgery."
"..."
