"Mom, don’t cry." The daughter soothingly patted her mother’s back.
"Alright, I won’t cry. We truly need to thank that lender, I didn’t expect such a kind person to exist." The wife said choking back tears, normally, debt collectors seek to get all their money back, hardly would they expect to get so part of it.
"Indeed, this guy seems really powerful. In just a short ti, whether it was the swindler or the local usury, all were flattened. I don’t understand why such a person would engage in lending business." ng Shengrong said reflectively.
"Exactly. Do you know their backgrounds?" the wife asked.
ng Shengrong shook his head and said, "I don’t know. Jianhui just ntioned that he was introduced by a friend and he’s got a solid foundation. He’s doing a fairly large business. Apart from that, I didn’t know; I didn’t have much curiosity back then but it seems like this guy isn’t too concerned about the money."
"I just don’t know whether we can borrow money from them in the future," ng Shengrong mused,
This is a businessperson’s nature. Having a capable, principled lender who provides low-interest loans quickly is indeed a blessing. However, for those who intend to default, this would be a nightmare. Simply put, borrowing from such a person, you won’t need to worry about being cheated of your money, but escape is most certainly impossible.
From the recent events, it’s clear that if you owe money to this usurer, even the powerful big shots from both the underworld and legitimate industries will capitulate in no ti. Those who fled to unknown locations are also dug out, forced to obediently hand over the money.
You absolutely must not owe money to such a person. That’s the one thing he kept in mind.
"What do you want to borrow money for?" His wife tapped his head reprovingly.
ng Shengrong said, "Silly woman, isn’t it normal for them to lend money and for us to borrow? And besides, this situation is exceptional. We’ve seen their capacities and integrity. As long as they don’t hold this situation against us, next ti we need a loan, we can turn to them again, provided we’re ready to pay."
"Alright then, let’s try it in the future if need be. But you should call Jianhui now, we really owe him an apology this ti, he must be mad at you," his wife reminded.
"Alright."
...
Although it was now past midnight, Lu Jianhui simply couldn’t sleep. His wife and kids were asleep in their rooms while he constantly puffed on cigarettes in the living room. He just couldn’t understand why his old friend would screw him over so badly.
He felt furious deep down - when facing difficulties, they could have discussed solutions. Why did he run away?
Just then, his phone rang—a light music ringtone.
Lu Jianhui picked up the phone, rather irritably.
Does this guy not know it’s late in the night now? Still calling .
But as soon as he saw the familiar number, Lu Jianhui’s expression changed and he quickly answered the call.
"Shengrong, what on earth is going on?" Lu Jianhui asked out loud with an anger-filled but slightly concerned voice.
Sensing the reproach in Lu Jianhui’s voice, ng Shengrong wryly said, "Brother, I’m really sorry about this ti. I had no other choice because I owed a lot of money. You guys couldn’t help either, so I had to resort to this."
Lu Jianhui’s factory had taken on a large order from Sheng Tang Apparel recently. They were hiring and buying equipnt, and Jianhui had also borrowed quite a bit of money. His finances were quite tight, so he was embarrassed about bothering his old friend.
Frustrated, Lu Jianhui said, "You should have told how much you still owed. I could’ve covered it for you." He couldn’t afford to pay a million, but he could make do with a few ten-thousands. If he begged Tang Qing to delay the repaynt, he could gather the rest. But you running away leaves no options."
ng Shengrong, deeply touched, said, "Jianhui, thank you. It’s my good fortune to have a friend like you. But this ti, it’s not required, I’ve pretty much resolved my issues. They helped retrieve that money."
"They? Who are they? Retrieval? What happened exactly? Tell quickly, you’re killing with anxiety." Lu Jianhui urged.
"The fellow who lent money. You’ve got yourself a powerful friend. Back when I..." ng Shengrong narrated the entire series of events that took place from the beginning. He especially highlighted how he was found, and within just two hours, most of his money was returned to his table. He couldn’t bla the fighter who took the remaining bit.

At this point, even ng Shengrong felt the entire experience could be turned into a blockbuster movie.
After hearing this, Lu Jianhui was left dumbfounded.
The complexity of this matter would’ve left anyone else with no solutions. ng Shengrong’s evidence was insufficient and his opponent was powerful. Yet in just a short ti everyone had kneeled?
"Really? They really recovered the money and had the usurer return the factory to you at its original price?" Lu Jianhui said in surprise.
"Yes, that’s what they said. I’m sure it’s in order. When I get back, I can redeem my project with the recovered money and what I have left." ng Shengrong said.
"That’s good. Co back as soon as possible and get things sorted out to avoid complications." Lu Jianhui reminded.
"Jianhui, do you know the boss who lent the money? I want to invite him to dinner as a thank you." ng Shengrong suddenly said.
"You... Forget about dinner, he’s a busy man, he wouldn’t care about such a small amount of money. This ti he personally ca over to investigate the matter, he may still be angry. I’ll gauge the situation first, as for who he is, don’t ask." Lu Jianhui didn’t reveal Tang Qing’s identity, knowing that Tang Qing preferred to keep a low profile and not be the talk of the town. It was out of necessity, due to a lack of manpower, that he had chance to et him, otherwise, Tang Qing wouldn’t have bothered to et him. Just like now, Tang Qing generally stays out of lending affairs and doesn’t handle it himself.
I still owe Tang Qing money and am living off orders from Tang Qing’s company, so I dare not speak out of turn.
"Alright then, apologize for ." ng Shengrong said.
"Okay, get so rest early tonight and co back tomorrow to sort things out." Lu Jianhui said.
ng Shengrong agreed.
After hanging up the phone, Lu Jianhui wanted to call Tang Qing, but it was too late.
He reflected on the events of the previous evening.
It appeared that Tang Qing wasn’t the only one looking around at that ti. Likely, when Tang Qing got the news, he imdiately sent people to investigate the matter. Not only had they figured things out, but they had accomplished everything in a short amount of ti, even locating the fleeing ng Shengrong. Such efficiency and power was downright terrifying.
He was also excited to know soone like that, and had trouble sleeping again that night.
Command Room.
With the troubleso matter resolved, Tang Qing could finally relax and go to sleep.
Early the next morning.
Tang Qing inford He Zixin that the matter had been resolved. As for other details, Tang Qing didn’t bother to explain, rely saying that the other party had been found and repaid the money. He Zixin didn’t know what else to ask, so her curiosity had to be buried in her heart.
However, Tang Qing did not instruct Sky Eye to imdiately halt its lending activities, as the entire month’s lending assignnts had already been disbursed and they were using their own money. Hence, he didn’t have many worries about spending.
When there is a surplus of loans next month, the small loan companies should have completed their formation, and they can take over the lending business at that ti. Sky Eye will just need to hand it over. For now, Sky Eye needs to co up with a plan.
That afternoon.
Tang Qing received an email from Sky Eye. He went ho, opened it, and read it carefully. Then... His balls started to hurt.
Damn it.
This bucket of cold water, poured on the body, was really freaking cold!
In 2005, there was actually no such thing as specialized small-loan companies. He just rembered that the state only began piloting small-loan companies in five provinces at the end of the year.
Although there are small loans now, they are mainly trial operations of agricultural, poverty alleviation, and other projects led by rural credit cooperatives.
This is pretty speechless.
Does he have to turn to the underground for private lending?
It’s absolutely frustrating!!
PS: Mouse admits, this is a big water-filled Chapter of four thousand words. Mouse doesn’t know if he can code the next Chapter today. He’ll try his best. Vote!!!
