"Mr. Ye Hong, hello."
It was written in Chinese.
Ye Hong sat upright with a start, a ssage suddenly appearing on his computer in the still of the night—a sight that would frighten nine out of ten people.
Especially him.
Raised in a rural area since childhood.
Though a doctor now, he was nonetheless skeptical about superstitions and the supernatural.
"Mr. Ye Hong, please do pick up the headset lying next to you." Another sentence had taken the place of the last few words.
Suppressing his alarm, Ye Hong hesitated a little, but slowly picked up the headset from the table in front of him.
He put it on.
"Mr. Ye Hong, hello," a man’s voice ca through the headset.
"Who are you?" Ye Hong asked, furrowing his brow. This person must be a skilled computer hacker. For this reason, he imdiately ruled out the possibility of the person being dostic since he hadn’t been back to his ho country for many years and his concept of its internet developnt had remained, frankly, ’archaic’.
"Don’t be nervous, I am sent by the state to help you return ho. You can speak in a normal voice, all the surveillance and eavesdropping devices in your place have been taken care of by us."
Ye Hong snorted coldly.
Who do you think planted these? The renowned FBI. If you claim it’s all sorted, do you expect to believe that?
"I can’t understand what you’re saying."
Ye Hong remained unwilling to give too much away, doubting this unexpected revelation.
"Mr. Ye Hong, I understand your concerns, and also know that I can’t persuade you during this call. However, our man is already at your house. Just follow him later, and he will explain everything to you."
"He? You guys are already here? Where?" Ye Hong asked, surprised.
"Behind you."

Ye Hong murmured to himself. These were three simple words, but...hold on. The next mont, his hair stood on end and he felt chills run down his spine.

His legs were trembling slightly. The sudden appearance of a stranger in his study would naturally scare anyone. He glanced at the open window out of the corner of his eyes, figuring that the man must have climbed through it.
"Who are you?" Ye Hong asked gravely.
"The one to take you ho. Mr. Ye, please gather your belongings as soon as possible and co with us," the man inford him.
"Are you guys from the state?" Ye Hong was still skeptical.
"Yes, we’ve arranged everything, but ti is of the essence. I understand your doubts about , but please, have faith in our nation." At this mont, the only card he could play was the word "nation."
Apparently, it worked well. Ye Hong was swayed.
The word "nation".
To Ye Hong, these two characters were sacred.
No matter how far he was, he knew that he was a descendant of the dragon, a child of Huaxia.

Having agreed, Ye Hong quickly roused his family.
He headed to his parents’ bedroom.
"Dong, dong, dong... Dad, Mom." Since the eavesdropping device had been taken care of, Ye Hong spoke in a regular voice. In recent days, they had been resorting to written communication for important matters.
"Ye Zi, what’s wrong?" his mother’s voice ca from inside.
"Mom, open the door quickly," Ye Hong urged.
Quick footsteps sounded.
"Click..." The door was opened.
A puzzled looking, sleepy-faced Fu Qin erged, asking, "What’s wrong?"
"The state has sent people to bring us ho. Pack up quickly," Ye Hong said.
"What? Really?" his mother Fu Qin asked, astonished and instantly wide awake.
"Yeah, quickly pack your things. Just bring one set of clothes. We’re leaving imdiately."
"What about the surveillance around us?"
"They say it’s been settled?"
"Do you believe that?" Fu Qin seed worried.
"I do."
At this point, Ye Hong had no room for hesitation. He couldn’t appear hesitant in front of his family. Besides, the man was already at his doorstep, leaving him no other choice.
It was a clear matter of life and death now.
"Okay, I trust you. Old man, pack up quickly." Fu Qin trusted her son.
Having said that, a hurried Ye Hong dashed off towards his wife and child’s room to wake them. The whole family was in a rush, hastily packing their belongings.
From a distance, Wu Kai, who was in a room on the second floor, saw the lights on in several rooms of Ye Hong’s house. Any trace of sleepiness instantly vanished.
He recalled his boss’s instructions.
He quickly dialled a number.
"Boss, there’s a situation. Ye Hong and his family have woken up in the middle of the night?"
"What? Let ask."
Half a minute later.
After receiving a positive response that Tang Qing’s man had indeed taken action, Wu Kai’s boss also breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that it was one of their own. He just wondered why they had swapped their agents out, but his dostic boss hadn’t offered any explanation.
