One by one, the mbership benefits were listed.
Except for the people of the Myanmar Asia Bank Group, everyone present was enthralled by the loan benefits that were targeted to them, as ’outsiders’. Businesses under Myanmar Asia Bank did not have a loan limit.
Despite their envy, they were well aware that the grass was always greener on the other side. After all, that was a privilege reserved for the bank’s direct affiliates, while they would only considered side branches.
Having that benefit was enough.
This was already way beyond their expectations.
They felt they had gotten a great perk, and wished they could imdiately max out their loan limits. They always had projects to fund, whether for the expansion of their existing business or for Ling’s promised three projects; they could handle even more.
All of these were opportunities to earn cold hard cash.
Though there were restrictions on how the fund could be utilized, only for expansion and operations, none of the businesses present intended to just pocket the interest. Their companies were fully funded, and they didn’t plan to do anything shady with this money.
The Chamber of Comrce was just newly established.
There was barely anything to discuss internally.
Soon enough.
The first Chamber eting had approached the last agenda item.
"...That’s all the benefits for the mbers of the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Comrce. If there are any questions, you can consult the Secretary General of the Chamber of Comrce afterwards.
I have another announcent to make. The Special Zone will establish a research institution called the ’Zhiya Natural Science Research Center.’ It will integrate the majority of scientific research forces in the Special Zone, and provide core technological support for the future developnt of the ’Myanmar Economic Zone.’
The Research Centre will operate under Myanmar Asia Bank Group, ranking above all its subsidiaries and being on par with the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Comrce. With unrestricted access to all resources and personnel of Burma Asia Bank Group, the Research Centre will be primarily funded by the bank.
The reason for specifically announcing this is the Zhiya Research Centre will undertake external research tasks. mbers of the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Comrce can apply for outsourcing research task on certain technologies within their companies, but they must pay for the research expenses themselves. They can also purchase mature technological plans from the ’Zhiya Natural Science Research Center.’ The main business of Zhiya Research Center besides serving the future of Myanmar..."
Ling once again began her off-the-cuff speech.
Soon after.
People like Tang Kai quickly understood the scope of the research center; it was without boundaries.
The ’Zhiya Natural Science Research Center’ encompassed all aspects of natural science, with its headquarters located in the soon-to-be-constructed ’Zhiya Area.’
This newly planned high-tech research area was located twelve kiloters west of Xin’an Town. It was managed independently from the Myanmar Economic Zone administration, co-managed by Myanmar Bank Group and Ling’s soldiers.
This secret area had semi-militarized managent. After two frantic months of construction, the main building in the Zhiya Area was completed. Two weeks later, the first phase of the Zhiya Research Center would be fully operational.
As to the origin and strength of these scientists, while Ling didn’t explicitly say, Tang Kai and Wangsa were not worried.
They both had extensive trade with the territory and were heavily invested in many projects. As factory bosses, they understood the technological value of their projects. These were undoubtedly at an advanced level. They wouldn’t claim it was the most advanced, but it was certainly first class.
The only restriction was not being able to transport the equipnt out.
Especially those who installed and debugged the equipnt, they left them extrely impressed. They were professional, ticulous, and thorough. Their understanding of equipnt paraters and principles was incredibly clear.
This level of expertise had absolutely reached a research level.
Previously, Tang Kai and others had been worried about the future technological upgrades of their factories. When they decided to establish factory, they inquired about it, but Myanmar Asia Bank Group didn’t provide a direct answer, which had concerned them for a while.
Now it seed that this was Ling’s direct answer.
Of course, there were still so who were kept in the dark.
Though they were not aware of the research center’s capabilities.
They chose to trust Ling.
"That’s it. If you have any technical issues in your company in the future, you should follow the sa application procedure as before at the Zhiya Research Center, which has now replaced the Technical Departnt of the Myanmar Asia Bank Group. Do you have any other questions?" Ling asked.
She looked at the crowd.
"I have a question, Ling. If a technology that is commissioned for developnt, would it be owned by the investor or co-owned? If it’s co-owned, what will the proportion be?" a rchant from Huaxia raised his question.
Ling replied, "If it is a completely novel technology, the Research Centre will hold fifty percent of the patent." The implication was clear: pre-existing patented technologies were not up for discussion.
"I understand. I don’t have any more questions." The man put down his hand.
Fifty percent.
This was undoubtedly a lion’s share. Commissioned research typically implied that technology belonged wholly to the investor after paynt, but it really depended on the research capabilities of the institute.
Zhiya Natural Science Research Centre.
Tang Qing planned to develop it into the world’s largest and strongest technological incubator, a holder of technical futures. It was not rely a role working for small capital. It had only one big boss, Tang Qing.
Helping you develop sothing and only charging a bit of research fee, Tang Qing would never do such silly things.
What were the things his scientists were capable of?
They were top academics, and coupled with the support of Little Two’s remote database and supercomputing capacity, their research ability was formidable, equivalent to a hundred other research institutes.
Had it not been for the aim to expand Zhiya research centre’s influence and have it serve as a significant safeguard for the globalization of Asia Dollar in the future, and also to win over so people, while conveniently covering up actions towards his own people, Tang Qing would not lend out the research capabilities of his scientists.
To Tang Qing, this fifty-percent would be a loss, but this type of proposal should be rare. Don’t forget that the Zhiya Research Center also has a "ready-made technology." There are very few people who can truly take advantage of this.
Ling took another look down.
No one raised their hand.
No more questions from the floor.
"Good, since there are no more questions, let’s adjourn the eting. The Myanmar Asia Chamber of Comrce’s routine internal etings are held once a quarter. If there’s an urgent matter that requires a special eting, I will notify you all. Once again, welco to the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Comrce, I hope we can get along well in the future."
With that said.
Ling stepped down from the podium and left the conference room.
People from the Myanmar Bank Group also gradually left, leaving only the fourteen of them in the conference room.
"Everyone, we are all friends in the sa trenches now. Let’s have lunch together at noon and get to know each other." Wangsa stood up and loudly suggested. He wanted to get to know all these people that seed to be no pushover.
"I was just thinking that, why don’t we go to my house? It’s quiet there, I’ll treat everyone to a al." Su Yu’s wife suggested as she stood up, her husband being new here, it was important to build good relationships with these businessn.
Of course, as a wife, she should help with this.
"Haha, okay, we won’t impose."
"Thank you for your hospitality."
"Count in..."
"..."
The others agreed one by one.
The establishnt of the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Comrce was very sudden.
They only had three days to consider, and they didn’t know the specific rules and benefits until now. In a hurry to et other "non-Myanmar Bank Group" mbers of the Chamber of Comrce, they all felt the urge to find out more.
Who knows what cooperation could take place.
The benefits of being a mber of the Chamber of Comrce were simply too good. It was essentially giving them money to fully develop and expand, so they were all eager to get started.
They left the Service Center.
Each got into their own cars and followed Big Head’s Humr, a group heading to Su Yu’s house.
Each of them had their own thoughts, but none of them harbored any ill intentions. After all, Ling had already stated that within the chamber, mutual targeting, underhanded tactics, and scheming were strictly prohibited. Once discovered, one would be imdiately expelled.
What they primarily wanted was to make so friends, to look out for each other in future business dealings. To mutually benefit from each other. To qualify for an invitation by the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Comrce, none of them could be despicable villains.
On the way.
Su Yu’s wife hurriedly called her husband, asking him to co ho quickly and et these important guests.
Upon hearing this, Su Yu quickly rushed back. His morning work was already finished, and it was just a few minutes before his knock-off ti. As a deputy district governor, he had the privilege of leaving a few minutes early.
As the deputy governor of the Myanmar Economic Zone, Su Yu naturally knew about the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Comrce. However, it wasn’t under his jurisdiction, and he wasn’t a businessman, so he didn’t qualify to participate. Besides, it didn’t matter, as his wife was a part of it, which was much the sa thing.
By the ti Su Yu arrived at his villa, it was bubbling with activity. There were many unfamiliar faces, all with friendly and approachable expressions. But he knew that none of them was a pushover.
Seeing Su Yu.
Tang Kai and the others quickly stood up to greet him. Putting aside his deputy governor status, in his previous capacity as a leader of tens of thousands of soldiers, they dared not underestimate him whatsoever.
After a ten-minute introduction, Tang Kai got to know the others.
Not one of them was ordinary.
Of the fourteen, excluding himself, Wangsa, and Su Yu’s wife, the remaining eleven were all very wealthy.
Eight Burse, backed by big families in Burma, controlled nurous resources and industries within Burma. Two were local businessn, one nad Wei Hao, who owned six or seven factories and a construction company in the area, which had contracted a major road project in the special zone.
The other was in the business of importing and exporting rare tals, a key partner of the Myanmar Bank Group. The last one was Zeng Ming, a Chinese businessman who accounted for a third of mobile phone production.
However, Tang Kai found it strange. Like the Clay Family from Thailand, they were a major family. He also cooperated with Wei Jun and Tang Liang in the fruit wine business. All of them were far from small fry; why weren’t they invited to join the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Comrce?
What were the criteria?
Money?
Power?
Background?
None of them quite seed to fit.
After the introductions and acquaintances.
The food was ready.
A table full of dishes.
