Not long after,
the airplane took off slowly.
As it entered the blue sky and due to the turbulence, most people on the plane would start to feel drowsy, but Tang Qing was very alert, and Lin Jiaxue also didn’t feel the slightest discomfort and was full of energy.
It helps that they had taken a nap before leaving the house.
The flight was over two hours long.
It was truly a bit boring not to find sothing to do, and the magazines provided on the plane were even more boring. Therefore, Lin Jiaxue, who had previous experience, brought a ’supplentary book’ onboard—Research on the History of News.
Seeing this, Tang Qing could only smile helplessly.
He really wanted to take out his mobile phone to watch a movie, but rembering aviation regulations, he refrained from blatantly breaking the law. Tang Qing reached into his pocket and pulled out a pair of black glasses.
Lin Jiaxue noticed Tang Qing’s action too.
"Tangtang, are you tired?"
Looking at the object that closely resembled sunglasses, Lin Jiaxue asked curiously.
"No, this is sothing great, a new gadget. I’ll let you try it in a bit," Tang Qing said with a mysterious smile. He had only brought one pair, having had no previous occasion to use them.
Moreover, they had only been developed last week, and he was just getting the hang of using them.
These glasses certainly were not ordinary glasses.
They were similar to Google glasses, utilizing retinal projection technology with two visual modes. They could not only project images directly onto the retina but also produce images inside the glasses themselves.
Previously, Tang Qing often watched videos through the perspective of a fighter.
All these videos were from missions, all in high-definition and extrely thrilling, especially during combat missions where the Command Room could actually replace the fighter’s original field of vision.
They enabled functions like night vision and X-ray vision.
For instance, during the operation to kill Naidan in Myanmar, it was possible to create a 3D image by using several night vision devices placed on the surrounding mountain tops, allowing real-ti X-ray tagging of all enemy personnel in the village before transmitting the data directly to the fighters’ eyes.
This significantly increased combat efficiency.
It rendered the night as if it were broad daylight.
Tang Qing had long wanted to try these devices, but he had a natural aversion to implanted devices. Later on, once scientists were available, he ordered the developnt of this wearable device.
After continuous research and technology breakthroughs,
they finally produced results last week. It wasn’t that the scientists weren’t competent but because this technology was not available in the mall’s devices and involved brand-new optics and electronic technology, it was an unprecedented block.
This was the first generation of the device.
Tang Qing had already tried it several tis with great enthusiasm; it was quite nice, operated smoothly, the vision was clear, it was not harmful to the eyes, and it had many functionalities. This pair of glasses could not only be used this way, the lenses could also change color, adjusting across the full spectrum of colors, although that wasn’t very useful...
He put on the glasses,
touched a button lightly,
and the device started.
He saw a flash of light on the pitch-black lenses, and two options appeared, one for retinal imaging and one for lens imaging. Tang Qing obviously chose retinal imaging.
You see, lens imaging had a flaw that was yet to be resolved; not only could Tang Qing see the image, but those beside him could also see a blurred image. Originally because of this flaw, Tang Qing had considered using an all-encompassing lens design.
Like the Laser Eye from "X-n."
That even had a cool factor.
The Command Room also produced a prototype. Tang Qing wore it for a while, always feeling like he was a patient with an eye condition. It beca uncomfortable if worn for too long, so he abandoned it in favor of this more ordinary style of glasses.
Though he called it ’abandoning,’ it was just that Tang Qing himself no longer used them; it didn’t an others wouldn’t use them. If needed, they could also be sold as military products in the future.
After selecting the mode,
a blue light flashed,
and Tang Qing felt as if the scene in front of his eyes was instantly covered by an interface.
Up, down, left, right—it looked just like a computer screen. On the far left and far right, he could see the scene inside the cabin. After all, this was a supportive device, not one ant to make people blind.
His eyes narrowed.
With intelligent recognition, the command room could discern the aning behind his gaze—clicking, retreating, and even typing was barely possible. Tang Qing, of course, wasn’t there to type, but to order the command room to switch modes and hide so icons that should not appear.
Global Citizenship.
Registered global companies.
Combat task assignnts.
Progress on major projects.
...
Dozens of functions that shouldn’t exist.
For him, the commander.
The command room had almost granted full access.
Everything that could be delegated and viewed in the command room was visible here too, as well as capable of providing communication. In other words, the next ti an ergency arose, he wouldn’t need to find a secluded spot to enter the command room.
He could directly communicate with the command room from here.
When only so normal entertainnt functionalities remained, Tang Qing took off the glasses.
With a slight effort in the middle, the glasses split into two halves. These glasses were designed to function in a single-eye mode, similar to the Combat Strength Detection Glasses worn by Frieza’s subordinates in "Dragon Ball".
To create a practical device.
Tang Qing had scientists add quite a few small functionalities.
"Try them on," he said.
Tang Qing handed over the right glass.
Lin Jiaxue looked doubtfully at the glasses Tang Qing had "broken apart" and, mimicking Tang Qing’s way, slowly put them on. After disassembling, the temples and nose pads of the glasses could still intelligently adhere tightly—a quite humanized design.
"Tangtang, it’s pitch black. There’s nothing," Jiaxue said, puzzled.
Tang Qing chuckled and said, "Just wait a bit, rember to cover your mouth, don’t be too surprised later."
As he spoke,
Among Jiaxue’s cries of astonishnt, the screen Tang Qing had just seen appeared before her eyes, but most of its contents were cleared, leaving only web browsing, video playback, and music streaming icons.
Tang Qing even considered whether to add a ga to it so that he could play together with Lin Jiaxue.
"Tangtang, what is this? This..."
Lin Jiaxue, frightened, directly took off the glasses.
This technology.
Was rather dark.
Was this sothing out of a science fiction movie?
"Rember my mobile phone? They wouldn’t let use it on the airplane, so I had to bring this thing, which can perform so of the mobile phone’s functions, rember to keep it a secret," Tang Qing whispered into Lin Jiaxue’s ear.
Lin Jiaxue covered her mouth, her eyes darting left and right to see that no one was paying attention, then nodded seriously and whispered, "Mmm, I won’t tell anyone." She knew that using a mobile phone on an airplane seed to violate Aviation Law.
Not to ntion going online, which was even more a matter of discretion.
"But, won’t this affect the navigation system?" Lin Jiaxue said softly.
Tang Qing shook his head with a laugh and replied, "Don’t worry, the communication signal of this device doesn’t operate on the sa frequency as the airplane’s navigation; they won’t interfere with each other."
Quantum communication technology—how could it interfere with wireless navigation?
Not even comparable.
Lin Jiaxue sighed with relief, glad there was no interference.
