Huo Jingrui didn’t dare drive too fast all the way, afraid that Yunyi might not sleep fortably in the back.

He naturally knew that Yunyi would have been more fortable staying in the pound, but they were newlyweds and he didn’t want to be apart from her.

Halfway through the journey, Yunyi felt a bit nauseous and sat up from the back seat.

Looking groggily out the window, she asked, "Jingrui, where are we now?"

Huo Jingrui heard her question, "You’re awake. Are you feeling okay? We’ve reached Kangqiao Town, about fifteen minutes more till we get to the family quarters."

Yunyi yawned and was about to speak when she saw a somewhat familiar figure enter the alley ahead. "Jingrui, did you notice anyone familiar on the road just now?"

Huo Jingrui heard Yunyi’s question, "Did you see it too?"

Yunyi gave a light "um" as a response, "But I didn’t get a clear look at who it was, just thought that figure seemed familiar."

Huo Jingrui solved the mystery for her, "It’s pany mander Hao’s wife, Yu Liqin."

Yunyi looked puzzled, "Why would she be here at this time?"

Huo Jingrui shook his head, "I’m not sure, but I heard before from pany mander Hao that his wife has a distant cousin living in Kangqiao Town. I heard that cousin’s wife isn’t well, so she occasionally es over to lend a hand."

Upon hearing this, Yunyi didn’t say anything more, though she wondered in her heart: It takes half an hour to forty minutes to walk from the barracks to here. Why is she here so early?

Though curious, it wasn’t their business, so Yunyi didn’t dwell on it.

After the two returned to the family quarters, Huo Jingrui got out of the car first: "Yi’er, I’ll go unlock the door first, you get out slowly."

Then he quickly went back to open the enclosed kang bed in the house, adding some coal so that the room would warm up fast.

While he did all this, Yunyi went inside as well, and he rushed back to bring everything from the car inside.

Seeing Yunyi snuggled on the sofa again, he asked, "Yi’er, do you feel unfortable anywhere?"

Yunyi waved her hand, "I’m fine, don’t worry, just don’t want to move."

Seeing she wasn’t lying, Huo Jingrui quickly heated up the breakfast brought back, then squatted down beside Yunyi: "Breakfast will be ready soon, eat it before you sleep."

Yunyi thought that Jingrui would have to train later and didn’t want to hold him up, "I’ll freshen up, let’s eat together, so as not to delay your training."

Seeing she was indeed not feeling unwell, Huo Jingrui was relieved.

Once Yunyi was done freshening up, breakfast was ready. The two affectionately finished eating, and just as Yunyi was about to clear the dishes to wash, Huo Jingrui beat her to it.

Yunyi watched him, "I’m just pregnant, not disabled."

Huo Jingrui continued without stopping, "If I’m on a mission or away, then there’s no choice. But as long as I’m here, these chores will naturally be mine, not because you’re pregnant, but because that’s how it will always be in our home."

Hearing this, Yunyi was filled with emotion, "Will you ever get tired of it one day?"

Huo Jingrui understood her meaning clearly, and firmly said, "No, as long as you’re by my side, I’m happy to do anything."

Moved by his words, Yunyi hugged Huo Jingrui from behind, resting her face against his back, "Having you is wonderful."
