"Thank you, Grandpa. Today’s al is so fresh, Tangtang really likes it!"

Fan Tangtang sat happily on a small stool, tearing at the "food" in his hand with small bites.

Clearly a very gory task, yet it seed very ordinary.

Just like an ordinary child eating a al or drinking water.

The old zombie stood expressionlessly to the side, eyes vacant, showing no reaction to Fan Tangtang’s praise.

Fan Tangtang, just a small bundle, had a huge appetite, and consud all the "food" the old zombie brought back.

"Grandpa, Tangtang is thirsty. Could you please get a bottle of water?"

Fan Tangtang carefully wiped the blood stains from his mouth, looking eagerly at the old zombie.

The old zombie’s vacant face showed no response, yet its body moved.

With stiff fingers barely bending, it shakily set a bottle of water in front of Fan Tangtang.

"Thank you, Grandpa!"

Fan Tangtang’s childish voice was very polite as he smiled at the old zombie.

The chubby little hands twisted open the bottle, and he drank it down with gulps.

After drinking, Fan Tangtang cautiously pulled two pieces of chocolate from his pocket.

"Grandpa, this chocolate was given by that sister today." Fan Tangtang unwrapped a piece of chocolate, speaking softly, "The sister and her family are very powerful. Tangtang couldn’t beat them. I was afraid they might harm Grandpa, so I begged them to leave quickly."

The old zombie stood still, not moving.

No matter what Fan Tangtang said, there was no reaction.

"That sister is so gentle, just like Tangtang’s mom." Fan Tangtang pursed his lips, his eyes moist, "When Tangtang gathers a few more helpers, let’s go find Mom and Dad together!"

The helpers in the factory were all taken out by the sister and her family, so they had to find new ones.

The old zombie remained expressionless, Fan Tangtang’s words did not affect its daze.

Fan Tangtang looked at his vacant grandfather and sighed slightly, turning around to place a small stool in front of the old zombie.

Fan Tangtang climbed onto the stool with his little legs, attempting to feed the old zombie the unwrapped chocolate.

The old zombie remained expressionless, unmoving, as Fan Tangtang tried to push the chocolate into its mouth, not even opening it.

"Grandpa, can you open your mouth?"

Fan Tangtang blinked with a pleading look.

The old zombie hesitated, then slowly opened its mouth full of black blood.

The black chocolate was placed inside, and instantly, the black blood and chocolate mixed together.

"Grandpa, chew it like Tangtang, then swallow!"

Fan Tangtang unwrapped the second piece of chocolate, slowly chewing it and finally swallowing.

The old zombie glanced vacantly at Fan Tangtang, chewing absentmindedly.

Black blood occasionally dripped from its mouth; this did not hinder its chewing.

"Why doesn’t the chocolate have any taste?" Fan Tangtang mumbled.

The old zombie ignored him, with black liquid seeping from the corners of its mouth, indistinguishable between black blood or chocolate.

Fan Tangtang took out a tissue from his pocket, occasionally helping the old zombie wipe the black blood from its mouth.

Finally, the old zombie swallowed the chocolate, returning to its expressionless state.

Fan Tangtang tilted his head, smiling at the old zombie, "Grandpa, shall we take a look at the backyard?"

The old zombie stood motionless, unresponsive.

Fan Tangtang carefully helped the old zombie down from the stool, then tiptoed to unlock the door.

Fan Tangtang peeked stealthily outside the door.

No one.

Fan Tangtang let out a sigh of relief; the sister and her family had left!

Fan Tangtang jumped for joy; now there was no worry of being hit by the sister!

He couldn’t win against the sister, hoping she wouldn’t return!

Fan Tangtang waved at the old zombie, then hopped in a particular direction.

The old zombie dragged its heavy body, closely following Fan Tangtang.

The entire light-steel villa manufacturing factory was large. It took Fan Tangtang almost ten minutes with his short legs to reach a small door.

Fan Tangtang pulled out a red string from around his neck, with a key attached to it.

Click.

The lock was opened.

Fan Tangtang and the old zombie stepped through the small door.

Beyond the small door, another world unfolded.

This was the residence of the factory’s director.

A three-story villa stood grandly, the yard paved with white French marble, luxuriously.

The small yard was exquisitely arranged, but with so disharmony in a corner.

Originally a garden, there were no flowers or plants, only an unearthed small coffin.

Earth was ssily piled on either side of the small coffin.

Fan Tangtang sat silently on the flower bed, puzzledly asking the old zombie, "Grandpa, do you know why Mom and Dad let Tangtang sleep here?"

The old zombie stared blankly, not answering Fan Tangtang’s question.

Fan Tangtang sighed, his voice a bit angry, "Why were Mom and Dad so an, putting so much earth on top? Tangtang dug for a long ti to get out!"

"But Tangtang still loves Mom and Dad, misses them very much."

Fan Tangtang murmured softly, looking nostalgically at the small yard.

The old zombie’s numb face showed a trace of emotion, and it let out a low growl.

Fan Tangtang blinked, "Grandpa, Tangtang doesn’t understand what you’re saying!"

The old zombie looked at Fan Tangtang vacantly, without speaking.

Fan Tangtang sighed again, exhaustedly climbing into the flower bed, lying in the small coffin, and closing his eyes.

The old zombie stood beside, its vacant eyes quietly watching Fan Tangtang lie down.

A piece of paper suddenly blew from the second floor of the villa, sticking to the old zombie’s face.

It was a death certificate.

Deceased: Fan Tangtang.

Age: Six.

Date of Death: January 15, 2022.

Cause of Death: Brain cancer.

...

Tear stains were faintly visible on the death certificate, along with two scribbly signatures.

Each death certificate bears a family’s sorrow.

Sticking to the old zombie’s face, the black blood oozing from its wounds soon rendered it illegible.

Elsewhere.

Bai Yifan drove the bus out of Z City, heading to D City this ti.

The reason for going there is that the Fire Phoenix Safety Base will be nearby in the future.

It should already be taking shape there, and the Bai Family plans to go collect resources first.

anwhile, they plan to secretly investigate that mysterious organization.

Bai Xiqin spared Zhao Mimi’s life in a large supermarket in Z City back then, hoping to find that mysterious organization through her in the future.

If all goes well, Zhao Mimi should arrive at the Fire Phoenix Safety Base soon.

Before then, their family needs to understand D City.

Bang Bang Bang!

The bus violently collided with several zombies, sending them flying.

"Sis, a car ahead seems to be in trouble. Should we help?"

Bai Yifan drove, spotting the car ahead from afar.
