Chapter 1364: Chapter 1364: You Have to Take Responsibility for Me

“Two Xiaos Bai.” Meng Shuqing felt dizzy, and the An Bai in front of her became two.

An Bai: “…”

He shouldn’t have talked about the past with someone who was drunk.

“Chenchen, you’re drunk.”

An Bai carefully helped Meng Shuqing upstairs to rest. The room had long been prepared for her, with décor she liked, and even the bedding was to her taste. He half-hugged her, protecting her head, fearing she might bump into something.

“Not drunk, I can still drink.”

Meng Shuqing felt like she was walking on clouds, dizzy, with Xiao Bai’s endless chatter in her ear. An Bai wanted to hold her, but Meng Shuqing insisted she wasn’t drunk and wanted to walk by herself.

From the dining room to the master bedroom upstairs, the short distance took them ten minutes.

“I’m not drunk.”

“Don’t believe me? Look, this is two, this is three, what’s this?”

Meng Shuqing counted her fingers, but she was so dizzy she couldn’t even tell apart two and three.

An Bai coaxed her to take off her shoes, saying, “Chenchen, you need to change clothes and sleep early.”

“Oh.” Lying on the bed, Meng Shuqing felt the world spinning. When An Bai approached to talk to her, she stared at him without blinking.

“What’s wrong?”

An Bai asked with concern. Her unblinking stare at him seemed odd to him.

“Liquor, I want more liquor.”

Meng Shuqing fixated on his lips, feeling like they exuded the fragrance of alcohol. She wanted more to drink, so she reached out and leaned forward, planting a kiss on them.

Yes, she went in for a kiss.

Meng Shuqing kissed without rhyme or reason, as if An Bai’s lips had alcohol on them. As she kissed, she mumbled, “Soft, like cotton candy. It smells like alcohol; why isn’t it alcohol?”

Meng Shuqing mumbled while she let go and lay down.

An Bai never imagined that the moment he had fantasized about for so long would be initiated by Meng Shuqing.

“Chenchen.”

An Bai’s eyes darkened a bit as he lowered his head, moving closer to her, full of affection in his eyes, saying, “You kissed me; you need to take responsibility.”

“Mm.”

Meng Shuqing pouted, her eyes hazy, looking at him with confusion.

“If you don’t understand, it’s okay. Tomorrow you must acknowledge it.” An Bai’s lips curled up, contemplating how to confirm this relationship tomorrow, when he noticed Meng Shuqing frowned, seeming unfortable.

“Ugh.”

Meng Shuqing felt the world spinning, her stomach churning.

“Chenchen, next time, don’t drink alcohol.”

An Bai didn’t mind the mess on himself nor the unpleasant smell. Seeing Meng Shuqing in disfort, he wished he could share her disfort. He gently patted her back, handing her a glass of water from the bedside table.

Meng Shuqing gulped down the water, lay back in bed, turned over, and fell asleep again.

An Bai: …

After looking at the stains on her clothes, An Bai thought for a moment and then changed her sweater and pants. He changed out of his own dirty clothes before carrying the deeply asleep Meng Shuqing to his room.

An Bai cleaned up Meng Shuqing’s room briefly, leaving the remaining mess for the housekeeper to tidy up the next day.

Headache.

When Meng Shuqing woke up, she felt a severe headache. Upon opening her eyes and seeing the unfamiliar room, her headache intensified.

She quickly checked and found she was wearing fitted clothes, her sweater and pants were gone. She sat up abruptly, as fragmented images from her drunken night resurfaced, making her face turn pale.

Drinking causes trouble.

Not only did she kiss him, she also vomited all over him.

Removing her gaze, Meng Shuqing noticed the figure on the sofa by the window, who else could it be but An Bai?

Meng Shuqing quickly lay back down, wishing she could scold herself fiercely. Why did she drink so much for no reason?

Now she was in a real predicament.

Meng Shuqing secretly opened her eyes, intending to sneak away quietly, but as soon as she opened them, she discovered the person originally on the sofa was now beside her bed. She was startled, ready to run, but her hand was caught.

An Bai sat by the bed, causing it to sink significantly. He said, “Chenchen, you need to take responsibility.”

Meng Shuqing: “…”

Looking at An Bai’s expression, why did she feel like she had bullied him?

“Why not, let’s tell everyone about our relationship during the New Year?” An Bai thought it was a great idea, observing Meng Shuqing’s reaction as he spoke.

Meng Shuqing cleared her throat, saying, “Xiao Bai, what relationship do we have? Didn’t we agree we’re just a cover-up?”

As soon as she finished speaking, An Bai looked at her with an accusing gaze.

Meng Shuqing felt quite a headache; she feared nothing but Xiao Bai’s accusing stare, making her feel as if she had mitted unpardonable sins.

“Chenchen, we’ve e this far, and you still want to deny it? Or are you claiming it didn’t happen?” An Bai moved closer, his breath lingering around her nose, their close proximity bined with their location on the bed made Meng Shuqing’s heart pound. Unable to resist, she swallowed hard and defended herself, saying, “Nothing happened, Xiao Bai, you’re overthinking, nothing unusual happened between us.”

As soon as the word ‘happened’ fell, Meng Shuqing’s pupils instantly dilated.

She felt a soft and unfamiliar sensation on her lips, pletely unexpected…

“Now, is it still ‘nothing happened’?” An Bai slightly retreated, his dark eyes gazing intensely at her.

*

“Chenchen, where did you and God An go yesterday? You didn’t e home last night, you both…” Jian Xing looked at her with a face full of gossip, her clothes changed, her face flushed bright red.

“Nothing happened between us.”

Thinking about last night and this morning’s kiss, Meng Shuqing felt uneasy, her mind a mess.

“Oh!”

Jian Xing’s eyes sparkled as she stared at Meng Shuqing, feeling like she had discovered a new continent.

She had casually asked, not expecting anything significant!

But Meng Shuqing’s response was equivalent to admitting something happened, Jian Xing was curious, so she whispered, “Chenchen, are you feeling guilty? Maybe you both… progressed quickly?”

“Nothing happened.”

Meng Shuqing ardently denied it, but she wasn’t good at lying.

Just then, her phone rang, Meng Shuqing felt grateful!

If Jian Xing continued asking, she wouldn’t be able to handle it.

“What? pete in a tournament?”

The call was from an esports team Meng Shuqing knew. They had met in a game, previously inviting her to join their team, but Meng Shuqing had always declined, finding joining a team bothersome and preferring to play games leisurely and not as a career.
