Now reading: Chapter 16: Pei Shanshan Thinks Jiang Ran Has Gone Mad from Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom, a Romance novel by Yu Renmei.

No matter what expression Pei Shanshan had, after Jiang Ran put the pot in her basket, she went to look at the bowls and chopsticks.

Jiang Ran had already made up her mind. In the morning, she would sell stead buns and porridge in the county, noodles and rice at noon, and in the evening she could sell stead dumplings, pancakes, and scallion pancakes. As for drinks, she would sell rice wine, which could also be mixed with egg drops or poached eggs.

This way, there would be business all day long, albeit a bit tiring.

She would have to leave for the county before dawn and return ho after it was completely dark.

But who made it so poor now!

If one is already poor and still afraid of getting tired, then they can only remain poor forever.

Jiang Ran didn’t want to stay poor forever, so she wasn’t afraid of getting tired.

By herself, it would definitely not work; at least two helpers were needed.

As for who these two helpers would be, she had already decided that it would be Pei Shanshan and Pei Yang.

Whether Pei Shanshan and Pei Yang would disagree was not a possibility Jiang Ran had considered.

If speaking nicely didn’t work, then she could only resort to threats of force.

But Jiang Ran thought they wouldn’t disagree.

They might have the thought but definitely not the guts.

The Pei family had grains at ho, but they were mostly coarse grains, with only a small amount of fine grains for occasionally cooking for the original host and Pei Jing.

To use them for business, not to ntion anything else, just in terms of quantity, it was far from enough.

So after buying bowls and chopsticks, Jiang Ran went to the grain store.

White rice to buy, white flour to buy, a bag of each, each bag weighed a hundred pounds.

After buying these, she went to buy oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, peppercorns, star anise, sugar, and rice wine.

at was also needed, a big piece of pork belly with layers of fat and lean, and then they could head back ho.

With so many things bought, it would be impossible for just Jiang Ran and Pei Shanshan to carry them back.

But outside the county, there were ox carts going to each village, and they could spend fifty cents to take an ox cart back.

The ox cart would take them to their doorstep, saving ti and effort.

After sitting on the ox cart, Jiang Ran finally let out a sigh of relief.

She had been holding her breath, relying on that breath to keep going.

Now that she breathed out, she couldn’t muster any strength.

Jiang Ran leaned against the sack of rice and slowly closed her eyes.

Although very tired, after all, it was soone else’s ox cart, so Jiang Ran didn’t sleep, she just closed her eyes to rest.

With her eyes closed, Jiang Ran didn’t know that Pei Shanshan and Pei Jing were staring at her without blinking at that mont.

At this point, Pei Shanshan’s mind was only repeating one sentence: Jiang Ran has gone mad!

Spending so much money to buy so many things, isn’t it madness?

Two iron pots for forty yuan, a bag of rice for fifteen yuan, and a bag of flour for fifteen yuan as well.

Just these three items added up to exactly seventy yuan.

Plus so bowls, chopsticks, various seasonings, all totaling twenty yuan.

And that big piece of pork belly, costing four and a half yuan per pound, ten pounds making it four and a half yuan.

Not to forget the al they ate for one yuan and nine cents, so in total, Jiang Ran spent exactly ninety-six yuan and four cents this entire afternoon.

Even before calculating the total, Pei Shanshan thought Jiang Ran was mad.

After the calculation, Pei Shanshan felt she couldn’t breathe.

Pei Shanshan knew Jiang Ran had money, but Jiang Ran usually didn’t buy things, only occasionally snacking, spending very little.

So Pei Shanshan always thought Jiang Ran was saving the money, preparing to leave it for Pei Jing in the future.

After all, Pei Jing was Jiang Ran’s only son.
