Jiang Ran slept until the alarm went off.
She had set the alarm for 1:30, and even though it had rung, Jiang Ran still could barely open her eyes.
Thankfully, Jiang Ran’s self-discipline was pretty good.
After turning off the alarm and sitting up, she dazedly sat for a mont and then got up, ready to take a shower.
In the sumr without air conditioning, even if you sleep with a fan on, you wake up all sticky.
After a warm shower, she felt much cooler.
By this ti, Jiang Ran realized the entire yard was quiet, indicating no one was around.
Jiang Ran didn’t find it odd. Pei Huai had his own matters to attend to, so it was normal he wouldn’t be ho all the ti.
At this mont, the little food shop in front should still be busy.
Having just woken up, Jiang Ran wasn’t hungry, so she just went to the kitchen and made herself a bowl of iced porridge.
Just as she ca out of the kitchen with the iced porridge, she saw Pei Huai pushing open the front door and coming in.
They exchanged glances, and after a mont, Jiang Ran raised the bowl in her hand, "Do you want so?"
Pei Huai shook his head, "I don’t want any. You can have it!"
"Oh!"
Jiang Ran agreed, took a spoon, and scooped a spoonful into her mouth.
The iced porridge was cool and refreshing, with soft red beans and chewy coconut jelly, a flavor Jiang Ran had always loved.
To be precise, girls generally liked eating this sort of thing.
It was normal for a man like Pei Huai not to enjoy it.
Jiang Ran didn’t ask Pei Huai what he had been up to before because there was no need.
Just like her, she didn’t always tell Pei Huai what she did every day.
Seeing Jiang Ran eating while walking towards the house, a hint of helplessness flashed quickly in Pei Huai’s eyes, "Aren’t you having lunch?"
Hearing this, Jiang Ran finally stopped, turned around to look at Pei Huai, and shook her head, "I’m just having this for lunch."
After saying that, Jiang Ran saw Pei Huai wanting to speak and quickly interrupted, "I’m not hungry now; I’ll make myself sothing to eat when I am."
After all, she was a chef, and she wouldn’t let herself go hungry.
Pei Huai obviously realized this as well, nodded, and didn’t say much more.
By around two o’clock, the small yard beca lively as the five girls learning to make snacks arrived.
Having just sent off a batch in the morning, the afternoon was their rare leisure ti.
There wasn’t much to make, just enough to last for the afternoon.
Jiang Ran watched them work without needing to lend a hand.
Once they were almost done, Jiang Ran decided to head over to the little clothing shop.
Who knows if soone might co looking for trouble again.
Although there were several people over there, they were all young girls easily bullied, so Jiang Ran wasn’t entirely at ease.
The mid-afternoon was the hottest ti of the day, with the sun in the sky scorching like a furnace.
If you can avoid going out, no one goes out.
If you must go out, you make sure to finish everything as quickly as possible and then return indoors.
Naturally, Jiang Ran didn’t want to be sunburned, so she rode her bicycle out.
She pedaled quickly and didn’t take long to reach the little clothing shop.
At this hour, there was no one in the shop.
The three girls inside, however, weren’t idle and had tidied up the room quite neatly; they were ironing clothes at the mont.
Seeing Jiang Ran arrive, the three of them paused their actions.
