Upon suddenly hearing Pei Jing’s question, Jiang Ran almost felt like she was swept away by a storm.
Out of the blue, why was Pei Jing asking such a question?
Jiang Ran hadn’t been puzzled for long before Pei Jing provided an explanation.
"The kids in our class say that their mom and dad sleep in the sa bed, and they sleep with their parents at night. I’ve never slept with my mom and dad."
By the end, there was a hint of grievance in Pei Jing’s voice.
Despite Pei Jing’s young age, the tendency to compare with others doesn’t distinguish by age.
Looking at Pei Jing with his pitiful expression, Jiang Ran didn’t know what to say for a mont.
The relationship between her and Pei Huai now, even if she explained it to Pei Jing, he probably couldn’t understand it.
But not explaining it...
Jiang Ran furrowed her brows and thought for a while, then suddenly ca up with an idea.
"Mom’s bed is a bit small, currently only Little Jing and I can fit, right?"
Upon hearing this, Pei Jing ran out with little steps and quickly reached Jiang Ran’s room.
After staring at the bed for a while, Pei Jing turned his head to look at Jiang Ran at the doorway, "Mom is right, it is indeed small."
Hearing Pei Jing say that, Jiang Ran felt relieved and nodded.
However, before Jiang Ran could say anything, Pei Jing added, "Mom, so when are we getting a bigger bed?"
Jiang Ran, "???"
Left speechless, Jiang Ran couldn’t help but think that Pei Jing’s mind was quite quick.
If his mind weren’t so quick, how could he imdiately think of getting a new bed?
Of course, having a quick mind cos with advantages.
However, Jiang Ran now had to think about how to answer him.
Fortunately, Jiang Ran’s mind worked quite fast too.
After thinking for a mont, she ca up with a response.
"Look at our room, it’s so small. If we put a big bed in here, wouldn’t there be no room left to walk?"
Pei Jing frowned, surveyed the room for a while, and finally had to admit that Jiang Ran was right.
In the end, Pei Jing nodded and didn’t dwell on the issue further.
Having finally placated Pei Jing, Jiang Ran felt relieved.
It was already late, ti to rest, and to avoid Pei Jing asking questions that were hard to answer, Jiang Ran hurried Pei Jing to wash up and go to bed together.
Pei Huai was just standing outside the door, having clearly heard the conversation between mother and son.
Previously, he always thought of Pei Jing as a little third wheel, but now it seed this little third wheel might just serve its purpose one day.
Though it hadn’t brought about any substantial results, having the intention still counted for sothing.
Just as Pei Jing ca out of the room, he saw Pei Huai standing outside and cheerfully called out to him, "Dad."
Jiang Ran, coming out right behind, paused for a mont when she heard Pei Jing’s words.
For so reason, a wave of guilt suddenly surged within Jiang Ran.
Perhaps it was because she had been overheard by soone else while she was trying to pull the wool over soone’s eyes.
But that guilty feeling was fleeting; Jiang Ran quickly adjusted her mindset and continued to walk out.
Once outside, she t Pei Huai’s gaze and rely smiled at him, "Are you coming out to wash up too?"
Her words were like eting a neighbor during the day and casually asking, "Have you eaten?"
Though there was technically nothing wrong with her words, given their relationship, it felt rather awkward.
