During the al, although people weren’t utterly silent, they didn’t speak much either.
The food was delicious, and those eating were quite happy.
The only pity was the absence of two people.
One, of course, was Pei Jing, and the other was Pei Huai, who was far away at the old ho.
But this was unavoidable, and everyone didn’t dwell on it too much.
After the al, Pei Shanshan and Pei Yang got up to clean the dishes and the kitchen, not letting anyone else help. According to them, others had been busy all morning, and since they ate the food prepared, it was their turn to clean up.
The others didn’t vie with them and allowed them to clean up.
Jiang Ran and a few others went to the living room, where Jiang Ran looked at Chen Bing.
Jiang Ran just quietly watched, without saying a word.
Being stared at by Jiang Ran like this, Chen Bing felt a bit uncomfortable all over.
"Ranran, why are you staring at like that?"
Jiang Ran smiled, "Brother Chen, isn’t there sothing you want to ask ?"
Hearing this, Chen Bing shook his head at first, but then his expression beca tangled.
Just looking at his expression, you could tell he had sothing to say but couldn’t.
Seeing this, Jiang Ran simply didn’t ask further.
She wasn’t one to force others. If Chen Bing didn’t want to talk now, then let it be; there would be plenty of chances in the future.
Seeing Jiang Ran stop asking, Chen Bing first breathed a sigh of relief, but soon his expression beca sowhat complicated.
Probably, deep down, he hoped Jiang Ran would continue asking. If she kept asking, maybe he would say it after all.
Not long after the al, the workers ca back to continue working.
There wasn’t much work left, so they finished everything in the afternoon.
However, the front door would take two more days to arrive.
Before the door arrived, the doorfra would be left open.
During the day, that was fine and there was no worry.
But what about at night?
Looking at that big open fra, Jiang Ran was also a bit troubled.
If only they had waited two more days before breaking it down.
But that wouldn’t work either; once the fra was built, it needed so ti to dry before the door could be installed, or problems could arise.
Besides, thinking about it now was useless.
What needed to be considered was how to get through the next two nights.
Everyone was frowning, seeming unable to think of a solution, when Pei Yang straightforwardly said, "What’s there to worry about? At night, I’ll just move a bed and lie at the entrance."
Then, he would sleep at the entrance, ready to notice anyone who ca by imdiately.
If it were sumr, moving a bed to sleep at the entrance wouldn’t be an issue at all.
But now, with October soon approaching, though the days were still warm, it got genuinely cold after dark.
Even sleeping inside required covering up with a quilt, let alone outside.
If Pei Yang really slept outside for a night, he would definitely catch a cold.
Jiang Ran disagreed.
"Sister-in-law, don’t be fooled by my thin appearance; I’m healthy. Have you ever seen sick? Even if I sleep outside, I won’t fall ill, so don’t worry."
No matter how convincing he sounded, Jiang Ran had only two words, "No way!"
Jiang Ran’s decision was sothing Pei Yang couldn’t argue against or object to.
"If I can’t sleep outside, then what do we do at night?"
Jiang Ran thought for a mont, "We’ll just leave it as it is."
